Orient Express Sirkeci Group Hotel Istanbul
Hotel Description
The bedrooms vary in size from medium-sized to large, all benefiting from brand new furniture and decor. A variety of tasteful colour schemes have been used. The bathrooms are fitted with light marble and are also in excellent condition. The main restaurant is in the basement and serves a wide variety of local and international cuisine to an excellent standard. This is a traditional Ottoman-style building in keeping with the surrounding houses. Thoughtfully restored, the hotel was formerly a private residence. The medium-sized lobby is very attractively decorated in traditional Turkish style, with some ornamental art. At the back of the lobby is a bar designed to resemble a carriage from the traditional Orient Express train. This brand new hotel only opened in late 1999 and offers excellent value for money in this ideal location. Guests can also take advantage of the small swimming pool located in the basement, a unique feature in this area of the city. (10/07 JMG)
