The hotel was built in 1897 and is an imposing and splendid grey gothic-style manor. There is no lobby as such. Clients enter into the great hallway where they are greeted by a member of staff who conducts the checking in process at a small desk. Clients can wait by the open log fires in the hallway or lounge area. The hotel cultivates an image of grand opulence. Antiques are everywhere and the ambience is refined.
