Customer Reviews for Lancaster Gate Hotel London
Our Customer stayed here in January 2011
Our stay at the Lancaster Gate Hotel was very good. No major complains....except maybe the fact that there was no Irish beer/ale in the bar!!!
Small point... the ladies bathroom is miles away from the bar/resident's lounge!
Seriously, I very nearly got lost on two different trips!!!
The room was spotless and was cleaned the morning after our arrival - as we were only staying two nights, I didn't think the room would be done during our stay.
The hotel is being renovated at the moment and also the building across the road.
Unfortunately, our room was overlooking the building works so we were woken very early.
On the plus side, the breakfast was very good and the staff were very very good and
friendly.
Overall our trip to London and the Lancaster Gate Hotel was very enjoyable, tiring but very enjoyable.

Great location and comparatively speaking, good value for money. The hotel lived up to its 3 star grading. When renovations are complete it will look great on the outside but a refurb programme needs to take place to the rooms also. Sinks cracked, holes in tiles where fittings have been taken down, worn carpets, etc...
Prior to arrival I had requested and been confirmed an upgrade from a standard twin to a family room having explained that my travel companion was rather large. However, on arrival the 'larger' room we were shown to was just a small standard twin; we were then shown another which was the same and the excuse given by the duty manager was that the 'system' showed them as family rooms so he didn't know what else to do... Anyway, we took it for the one night and the next morning we were changed to a larger room but not after a lot of hassle.
Overall, the staff were friendly and attentive, breakfast was good and overall, the experience was satisfactory.
The difference between a London hotel experience and an Irish one is that in Ireland when a hotel advertises a 24 hour room service this extends to everything (food and alcohol) so we were quite surprised to find we couldn't get a beer to the room after the bar was closed downstairs but maybe that's just the way it is in London....
