We wanted somewhere for our grown up family to use as a base to come together near Frankfurt to celebrate my eldest son's 30th birthday at a reasonable price (father was paying). Penta Hotel, Wiesbaden, met the bill superbly. We took 4 rooms. It was easy to locate, a bit out of town, on street parking (no need to use the over priced hotel car park), efficient and friendly welcome and allocation of rooms (and when a bed castor broke a new room was provided as repair not possible.)
The room and shower-room were spacious with trendy decor and fixtures and fittings worked well. Very comfortable beds.
The generous and spacious public areas were more like a 4 star hotel and allowed our family to meet in comfortable surroundings. This contrasted with typical travel lodge/inn type hotels where there is always competition for the few available seats. A reasonably priced, limited, good quality menu allowed a one night dine-in for the second night without breaking the bank.
An excellent variety of breakfast options would have been pricey if not booked through Roomex which offered an all inclusive price of approx £52 GBP for B&B per room (2 people) per night.
If you want to be picky there were a few minor issues but at such good value they are not worth mentioning.
My discerning daughter of 27 years, who has grown accustomed to her father's thrifty ways reckoned I had hit on a winner with the Penta Hotel Wiesbaden. She rated it as the best in the range she had come across since moving to Germany.
