The reception area and staff were very pleasent. However, we were disappointed with the room. It was small, we had a trible and had very little room to move around. The decor was rather basic, with the curtains a bit shabby. Shower hose very short. Lighting poor. Bulbs not working etc. The room was in the basement and the cooradoors were narrow. While we had the contintal breakfast, it was very basic and very poor value for money as it was priced at £5.00 sterling.. We found the location perfect but we would be very reluctant to stay there again. We stayed in the Premier on a previous occasion, which would be more expensive (40% more) but I would rate the Premier much better value. We visit Edenburgh on a regular basis and we have taken the nAmes of other hotels in Coates Gardens which we will check out for our next visit.

Hotel was very very basic but clean. Staff were not a bit friendly and the continental breakfast was not great, not good value for money. The location was good, it was 10-15 minute walk to Princes Street. Beautiful Italian restaurant called Gali near by and a bar next door that did a wonderful breakfast for very cheap. Would only recommend this hotel for people who were on a very tight budget.
