Pleasant, clean and efficient as ever, Galilei is ideal for early and late flights - firm beds, quiet rooms. Staff are always helpful. The breakfast buffet is good and even if we missed the stewed prunes this time, we were well fed and rested for the day's travel. A small point: the air-conditioning is controlled from the reception desk where you must ask for it to be adjusted. It is normally set to 28 degrees so it takes some time for the room to cool. A default setting nearer 20 degrees might be better. But we will certainly be back.
Most enjoyable stay .Excellent value . Clean comfortable room ,satisfying breakfast and the use of a very efficient courtesy bus to Pisa and the airport. Will definitely go back.
I wasnt very impressed with this "4 star" hotel. The location was fantastic. The breakfast was average at best. The staff were fine. I had booked a double room for myself and my wife and we were given a twin room. We asked to be moved to a double room and were told that they had nothing available that night. The next morning we asked to be moved to a double room and we were moved to the room next door which was a twin room with the beds pushed together. Very disappointed.
Just back from a super stay here! Hotel is lovely.... clean and basic which is most important!! hotel staff were so nice and had super english which made our stay easier. Special mention to Roberto in the bar..... a legend... better english than any Irish person... became out tour guide with invaluabe information. Really can speak not high enough about this hotel and would recommend highly.
Good, comfortable,air-conditioned room. Location not the best for sightseeing.
arrived at the hotel around midnight to be greeted by a friendly man at the reception desk. Checkin was instant with advice given on what to go see in the morning. The map was marked out for us with the most important sites to visit highlighted. The train station was also marked out for us. Very good friendly service even though it was midnight. Room was standard but what we were expecting, it was clean and air con was working so it was to the standard we required and for the price we paid. Breakfast was also lovely.
Charming place with a lot of character and idyllic courtyard. Rooms quite spartanic but very clean. The only downside: Shower door did not close completely. Staff was lovely and the hotel's bike hire is highly recommended for exploring Pisa.
The Santa Croce is a lovely, restful hotel built originally as a convent and restored in 2000 as a hotel. The rooms are deliberately plain but comfortable, with the original terracotta floor tiles and wooden shuttered windows. There is air-conditioning, our room had a merble-floored en-suite and a tv but the cloistered courtyard looks pretty much as it must have done centuries ago. The staff are very friendly and the Reception area is welcoming. There is secure, free parking and it's far easier to walk or catch a bus into the city centre than bother to move the car once you're there. Breakfast was ample and the evening menu very reasonably-priced. I would definitely recommend the Santa Croce and would stay there again. Really good value. On the plane home I met someone else who had stayed there recently and they were delighted with it, too.
We only stayed one night in the La Pace Hotel, we were picked up from the airport for €6 per couple which was great. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was very dated, which we were expecting. However the linen was clean, the pillows were soft, the air conditioning was working and there was also Sky Movies. We got down to breakfast about 20 mins before it finished up, there was no hot food left. The cereal, fruit, juice and coffee were fine. The location is great, very close to the train station and 20 mins walk from city centre.
Very helpful staff, room was spotless, great location
The staff were very friendly, the location superb and the room basic but spacious with high ceilings. The restaurant was very pleasant with good food. The only problems we had were a) the bed, which sagged in the middle b) the windows, which were single-glazed and so the street noise was very loud. The hotel is in a traffic calmed zone, but ther are still cars and especially mopeds at frequent intervals. This meant that we slept very badly for our two nights stay there.
We've stayed here several times - though pretty basic, it's functional & clean & superbly located. I get excited every time I open the shutters then - it's like viewing a cardboard cut-out which really is the Leaning Tower!! Breakfast is simple. There's a relatively new trattoria opened (in the last couple of years) across the road which I'd recommend - top notch papardelle all'cinghiale (with boar sauce)!
Excellent hotel -small, quiet, friendly, professional with a lovely atmosphere
