just back from a 1 week holiday staying at the club praia de rocha hotel, first thime to stay at this appartment complex, large reception area, good staff friendly enough but could be a little more helpfull, in good location to the main strip only a 7 min walk away, but some footh paths can be hilly to get there. be warned! was using the inter-net in lobby area in reception €2 for 20mins that go in extremily fast when you have language probliems to deal with & diffrent keyboard settings, they just dismiss everything you ask them including when screen just freezes, help quite important when you only have 20 mins to type up a message home, or to work. not worth the hassle... found a english pub called barnies around the town & you get half an hour on line for 1 euro & 1 hour for 2 euro after 7pm in their pub. great value & helfull staff there & great beer too... The appartment rooms are basic, kitchen/dining area is large enough, but no basic equipement for the Irish or English travler like a toaster,or a kettle, microwave ( you have to rent these items) just a 2 ring electric hob & a fridge small portable t.v. in kitchen-livingroom area also has to be rented. It would not break the bank for them to give you the use of these few basic items as you may not even use them much anyway even if they were there for your use, it's just to much penny pinching in our minds. bedroom has two single beds, that were very cofortable, however during our 7 day stay the bed clothing was never changed, as stated in brochure it would be canged once in the week cleaners were in every day bins & bath towels changed, dont think floor was cleaned everyday. bathroom was just ok, there was black mold spoors on the ceilling, the only good thing about it had a good shower nozzle with plenty of on tap hot or cold water when needed. could do with a make over in the neer future. ask to stay on 4th floor as we found it quite & you could be put on any floor up to the 15th i think. a lot of steps down if lifts happen not to be working, just somthing to think about! it does happen you know. the swimming pools were clean & around the poolside area was very clean, they also have an indoor pool also, usefull on cloudy or rainy days in october, there was a poolside cafe also good value for food. you had to hire sun loungers for €1 a day p.p. yet more hiring of basic holiday items, paid €158 for appartment for two people for 1 weeks holiday really not bad value, if all the other little things didnt matter as much it was an fair holiday price, but would have to have a few more creature comfords nextime might consider somewhere else in praia de rocha for simler price with more included.
Have stayed here several times before. Good base, very basic apartments but large and spacious. We requested the harbour view, previous experience as advised by one of their reception personnel, Floor 12 excellent view of the new Marina and harbour, viewing the Large Pleasure Cruisers in each day also much more pleasant than pool view. The only drawback, it was my colleagues first time in Club Praia Da Rocha, she needed a hairdryer and also requested a kettle. Both these items had to be hired which she found a little bit too basic. A good sign is that the same reception staff are there for years, always very helful and happy to part with their knowledge of excellent restaurants in the area and in Alvor. Excellent at giving road directions to nearby towns and villages, Monchique and others. All in all a very enjoyable week and thanks to Roomex they had advised of our late arrival and our request for harbour view. On check in our voucher was taken with no complications. This is my first time to use Roomex and I shall certainly use them again, hopefully for some City Break
We had a fantastic time at the Jupiter hotel. It is ideally located on the main "strip"on praia de Rocha, across the road is the Tourist police station, two minutes walk to the fantastic beach and taxi rank just around the corner. The hotel itself is very impressive with superb spacious cool lobby and the staff are very helpful.A very good breakfast with a good choice in spacious surroundings. The room was large with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea .We were slightly surprised that there was a 20euro charge to use the indoor pool and jacusi but it was January after all and it was very quiet. As a summary,if you want a quiet holiday with fantastic weather(20degrees)in a fantastic hotel then hotel Jupiter in the Algarve is the way to go.
We stayed 10 nights at this hotel (2 couples) - we were happy enough overall. The breakfast was fine (cereals, fruit (not a huge selection), Breads/rolls, selection of ham, cheese and hot breakfast), they also had good lunch options when by the pool. We didnt have dinner in the hotel. The hotel is as close to the beach as you can get, and near some fabulous restaurants (Dolce Vita, Sitting Bull, Atlantis, Titanic, Squash). These are very reasonably priced. The swimming pool is small enough, but there were always beds available and it was never too busy. There is construction work across the road, it didnt bother us at all. There is a late bar nearby, but once the window was closed, it didnt bother us much either. The hotel has a pool table, which was good to pass the time while the women got ready to go out! Staff were friendly. This was our second stay at this hotel, and we would stay again. (we did the speed boat dolphin trip, and didnt really see much, and did the cave trip - didnt think that was worthwhile at all)
Spacious,clean and located near everything.

Excellent hotel located on a fabulous beach in Alvor. The gardens are lovely with plenty of sun loungers. Pool is good with towels provided for guests. The food for breakfast is average for a hotel of this rating. Most of the fruit was canned which was disappointing. The village of Alvor where there are many excellent restaurants is located about 15 mins walk away. I would definitely return to this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Algarve hotel casino and were delighted with all aspects of the hotel. We arrived at 10am and the reception staff went out of their way to check us in early. All the staff were great, helpful & friendly. The facilities were great too, fresh beach towels every day! Beach is literally a stroll out the back door directly on to the beach. I would recommend anyone stay at this great value 5*.
We had a lovely stay at Algarve Mor Hotel. It was our first time to stay at this hotel. Its in a great location, only a short distance from the beach and a five minute walk from the shops, restuarants and pubs. We had wonderful views of the beach and the mountains from our balcony. The apartment was cleaned everyday, bedlinen changed and fresh towels. The staff were so friendly and helpfull, always smileing. We stayed for four weeeks in Algarve Mor, we will definatly be back.
