Protea Hotel Fire & Ice Cape Town W. Cape-Cape Town-Garden Route
Hotel Description
Every aspect of this hotel is about attention to detail - from the ultra chic lighting and the Mad Hatter high-back chairs in the restaurant to the coffin seats in the smoking lounge. This vibrant, novel, sizzling establishment lies in the entertainment hub of Cape Town city. The hotel offers its guests a place to relax, a base from which to explore and a friendly place to call home at the end of each day. The hotel comprises a total of 201 trend-setting luxury rooms.
Location
This hotel lies in the heart of the centre of Cape Town, between New Church and Buitensingle Street. It is situated at the foot of Table Mountain and offers spectacular views of Signal Hill. Guests can visit the Victoria and Alfred waterfront, which is a desirable location for both the locals and international visitors. The hotel is situated some 25 km from Cape Town Airport.
How To Get There
From the Airport take the N2 from the Airport to town. As you near the city, the N2 and N1 meet up. Carry on straight over the traffic lights until the road becomes Buitengraght Street. Keep driving on Buitengraght Street until you see a Caltex garage on the left. Turn left at the traffic lights immediately after the garage (Buitensingel Road). Take the first road right (New Church Street) where you will find the hotel on your left.
Room Description
Each room comes with an in-room shower. The modern hotel has gone out of its way to ensure that each room is a WLAN hotspot, making it the ideal place to stay for business travellers and those guests who can't bear to leave their work at home. In-room facilities include a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, individually regulated air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities.
Meals
The restaurant, which launched to wild applause in November 2006, has a unique food concept to complement its social experience. Surrounded by exclusively different furniture and fittings, including high-back chairs reminiscent of the Mad Hatter's tea party, a completely open-plan kitchen concept, and a 360-degree glass cold room, guests will want to explore and discover. For fun, guests can try out the swimming pool that runs the length of the restaurant window. The Fire and Ice bar concept is one that guests will struggle to find elsewhere in world. Ice is placed inside the bar counter, to keep drinks ultra-chilled in Cape Town's coolest hotel.
Sports/Entertainment
There is a relaxation deck with amazing views of table mountain, a heated pool to relax in or a gym for your daily workouts.
