Clean and pleasant room. Staff were very helpful.

I stayed in the royal dublin hotel for two nights in a single room. The royal dublin is a nice hotel with some good staff. The hotel bar is very nice and there is is some good food you can get there. The breakfast is very good there as well and it was part of my hotel booking.The one thing the hotel needs to sort out is the most important thing for any guest and that is the hotel room. The single room is a joke as it is so small. The bed was the smallest i have every seen. The bathroom was just as bad size wise as well.I dont know what the double rooms are like but i would hope they would be a lot bigger and that there would be room for two people. If i had a choice i would not stay in the royal dublin again all because of the small single room. I had the hotel booked for next month again but i have now cancelled that as i will not stay in those rooms again. There is nothing else wrong with the hotel as i have said but they need to do something about the rooms.

I was particularly impressed with the quietness of my room - always, in other hotels in the centre of Dublin, I have found that my room was noisy (Dublin is now another world city that never sleeps!). I asked the receptionist for a room that, above all, was quiet and, if possible, was a smoking room. I found both my requests admirably furnished. I checked in at 11.15 am and had no problem getting immediate allocation of my room. I am 68 years of age and throughout my life have believed that a hotel can often be judged on the standard of breakfast. I was impressed with the meal and the overall price I paid was most acceptable.

basic 3 star hotel, albeit with excellent location right on O Connell st. Stayed in older part of hotel, facing onto main Street, so room subject to street / traffic noise. Room dated and a little frayed around the edges, but clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast fine, served by friendly staff.

My wife and I were delighted to see the wonderful room, which was tremendous value for the money we spent. It was in fact a little cheaper than a comparative flea-pit down the road! Everything looked brand new, from the en-suite to the bedroom and bedding. We even had a view of O'Connell Street from the window. The reception and breakfast staff could not have been more helpful and we look forward to coming back, maybe for a short break, as opposed to our last trip which was an 'over-nighter' enabling us to visit a sick relative in hospital. The design of the bedroom was such that I made a drawing of it to tell my interior designer who will be designing the furnishing and fitting out of our next apartment! Brright & clean Reception area, matched by actual bedroom. Very good quality accommodation for the price, friendly staff and an excellent city centre location.
