Royal Terrace Hotel Edinburgh

Room was at the back of the hotel beside a lift shaft which was a bit noisy,apart from that everything was fine.

I stayed 2 nights in a petite room with a double bed. As I was by myself, it was more than adequate for one person, possibly not for two, but the receptionist did mention a single room. I was happy with the buffet breakfast. Toast done on demand, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, juices, tea, coffee... good variety and decent sized bowls. I didn't have the "full scottish" so I can't comment on that, but the buffet items were fresh and abundant. The pool is quite small, but is fine for unwinding after a long day wandering. Staff were friendly and very accommodating, looking after my bag all day Monday after checking out. The hotel is also in a very convenient area, near Calton hill, St Andrew's Shopping Centre and serviced by many bus routes nearby. I'd happily reccommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Edinburgh

4 of us stayed at the royal terrace hotel on the 20-11-09 i have to say it was lovely.The rooms were fab the beds were fantastic with a lovely flat screen telly.In my sisters room she has 2 tellies.The service was lovely and very efficient there was no problems ordering taxis at reception with very little waiting time for them to arrive.The pool area is small but very private and relaxing.The breakfast was lovely.I would highley recommend this hotel and we all hope to return very soon.

Having taken the Airport bus into the city centre, the Hotel was a gentle walk through the City Centre. As we had arrived before our rooms were ready(early afternoon) the staff directed us to the nearest bus stop and told us what bus number to get to visit the Royal Yacht. The reception staff where very helpful as were the young bar staff. The whole hotel had a was very pleasant air about it. Both the rooms that I had booked were very clean and well appointed. I would recommend the hotel to any one visiting Edinburgh.
