I stayed at the Russell Hotel on the 07th of October last . I had researched a lot of hotels before I travelled & booked this hotel due to comments of great location & character . This hotel really lived up to my expectations and more . The building is truly amazing ! The room was very modern and luxurious. Breakfast was served in a fabulous hugh victorian hall . Just around the corner is the subway and one stop away from the central line . I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends. Great location , great standard of accommodation & most of all a brilliant rate received from Roomex considering a lot of the upper end hotels in London are very expensive .

What a little gem hidden in London! From the moment of check in to check out we were treated to the most courteous considerate and helpful staff. The hotel is maintained to a really high standard and the decor bright and warm. There were no windows in a part of the floors but the corridor was bright and airily decorated. The double room was comfy, warm with all the extras you expect, but the bathroom was to die for, large bright and a fantastic shower! It is looking out on Russell street square which is lovely and round the corner from the tube station. Everything you could need right on your doorstep and a short wall to any part of London you would want to see. I will definitely be staying in this hotel again the food is of a wonderful standard and everyone so friendly nothing is too much trouble for them.
Thanks for a wonderful break hotel Russell!

I have stayed a number of times in this hotel. I found the refurbished single room very comfortable, clean and attractive. I found an increased level of courtesy and service both at reception and at breakfast and appreciated a sense of welcome and comfort.

The hotel is a big old venerable Victorian building centrally located in London. The location is perfect, a tube station next door, several buses and lots within walking distance.
The hotel itself was renovated not long ago, so while the reception area has retained the lovely old architecture, the rooms are quite modern.
I stayed in a single room with Bath which was lovely. Very well laid out and with some space which is not common in London. The was some noise at night from the street outside, but I didn't mind.
The breakfast was very good, though I did think it was a little steep asking for £10 to have it served in your room. The quality of the fruit juice was mediocre, but that's my only criticism.
Room service was always speedy and efficient.
Basically my biggest criticism would be the choice of carpet in the public areas. The architecture is magnificent - they didn't need to have a busy carpet too !
I would definitely go back.
