I stayed at the Russell Hotel on the 07th of October last . I had researched a lot of hotels before I travelled & booked this hotel due to comments of great location & character . This hotel really lived up to my expectations and more . The building is truly amazing ! The room was very modern and luxurious. Breakfast was served in a fabulous hugh victorian hall . Just around the corner is the subway and one stop away from the central line . I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends. Great location , great standard of accommodation & most of all a brilliant rate received from Roomex considering a lot of the upper end hotels in London are very expensive .

What a little gem hidden in London! From the moment of check in to check out we were treated to the most courteous considerate and helpful staff. The hotel is maintained to a really high standard and the decor bright and warm. There were no windows in a part of the floors but the corridor was bright and airily decorated. The double room was comfy, warm with all the extras you expect, but the bathroom was to die for, large bright and a fantastic shower! It is looking out on Russell street square which is lovely and round the corner from the tube station. Everything you could need right on your doorstep and a short wall to any part of London you would want to see. I will definitely be staying in this hotel again the food is of a wonderful standard and everyone so friendly nothing is too much trouble for them. Thanks for a wonderful break hotel Russell!

I have stayed a number of times in this hotel. I found the refurbished single room very comfortable, clean and attractive. I found an increased level of courtesy and service both at reception and at breakfast and appreciated a sense of welcome and comfort.

The hotel is a big old venerable Victorian building centrally located in London. The location is perfect, a tube station next door, several buses and lots within walking distance. The hotel itself was renovated not long ago, so while the reception area has retained the lovely old architecture, the rooms are quite modern. I stayed in a single room with Bath which was lovely. Very well laid out and with some space which is not common in London. The was some noise at night from the street outside, but I didn't mind. The breakfast was very good, though I did think it was a little steep asking for £10 to have it served in your room. The quality of the fruit juice was mediocre, but that's my only criticism. Room service was always speedy and efficient. Basically my biggest criticism would be the choice of carpet in the public areas. The architecture is magnificent - they didn't need to have a busy carpet too ! I would definitely go back.

warm friendly receptionist offered us a room fitted for disabled person when we requested a quiet room. Very spacious. big fluffy towels. power shower plenty of hot water. Friendly room service. choice of herbal, coffee and tea in room. Didn't like how windows don't open wide and are treated to block out the view (can understand this as it is just innerworkings of hotel) but is was a small price to pay for an inner room which also blocks out the sound of traffic and sirens which are VERY loud in London. A great location beside British Museum, UCL and Covent Garden and a straight road down to Waterloo Bridge. Within a good walk of Trafalgar Square and environs. Very Central with lots of good eating places and a Tesco Express. Very good value with breakfast. Staff again very helpful here. Great tea and coffee. My daughter is studying in London and I would like to stay here again when I am visiting her. Convenient to bus route for Victoria and beside Tube station. Good value, Central, clean and comfortable.

Satisfactory, well located, reasonably priced hotel - though not really up to a four star rating.

Very enjoyable stay for myself my son and his friend to the Russell hotel. Some problem with the computer so our booking was changed from a twin and a single to three singles I thought the staff handled the problem very well. No fuss and no extra charge. Overall the staff were all very helpful and seemed really glad that we were staying in their hotel. The Russell Hotel is a very impressive setup and we will stay there again on our frequent visits to Arsenal. One small constructive suggestion. The hot food at breakfast is very good but needs to be kept a little warmer.

Good location, clean hotel, most of the staff were friendly, breakfast good. Ask for high floor, we were on second floor at back of hotel and pub out back, all quiet after 12 mid night which was good. also road works at front of hotel late at night (11pm) and early in morning (8am) however i'm sure these are temporary and would not let this stop me from staying at this hotel again

A group of 6 of us stayed here for two nights in February and could not have been happier with the entire visit. This hotel is a great location, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, breakfast was lovely and the staff and friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge Bernard who was on hand to give us advice and directions whenever we needed them. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting London and will be staying there myself again on my next visit. The only one thing I would say to people is that the hotel bar while very comfortable and relaxing is also very expensive, but an enjoyable experience.

Stayed here for one night - lovely hotel, beautiful marble staircase etc. If you are looking for a real slice of 'olde worlde England', then this is for you. Room was very comfortable and modern, though on the small side - the make up mirror was a nice touch. Perfectly adequate for one night. Beware if you are ordering drinks at the bar - very expensive! Breakfast was quite disappointing, cold coffee, so tried the tea, which was also cold. Salty bacon, croissants not very good, but overall - I would stay again, for the location and friendly staff.
