This is a really fine hotel. Ideally located in the centre of Nelson, next to the Cathedral and park and only a minute from the shopping area. The hotel rates four star and rightly so. Right from the reception through to check-out I could not fault the service. I had dinner in the Oceanic Restaurant which is bright and spacious and the food is excellent. Breakfast was also of the hightest order in buffet style. The staff made for an enjoyable stay and only a pity that we did not have the opportunity to stay longer. Nelson is well worth a visit and Trafalger Street, free from traffic, has a number of restaurants and bars with live music to keep you entertained in the evenings. One note of caution, however, bring insect repellant. The small black flies can leave you with nasty bites and they are active in the late afternoons and early evenings.
