Formerly an ancient convent, the hotel was originally built in 1500 and was renovated in 2005. It occupies two buildings in a central district between the Rialto Bridge and the Church of Saints John and Paul, and comprises a total of 53 guest rooms. Its interior is the epitome of elegance, and dark wood-panelled walls, the work of skilled craftsmen, provide a classical backdrop for the hotel's warm and intimate atmosphere. Location

With its quiet location in a typical Venetian square, the hotel enjoys close proximity to the sixteenth-century Giovanni Crisostomo Theatre, today the Malibran Theatre, home to an important season of chamber music. The centre of Venice is just a 10-minute walk from the hotel, which occupies the spot where Marco Polo's house was once located. It is just 5 minutes' walk from the Rialto Bridge with its quaint fish market and the Church of Saints John and Paul, where the Doges were crowned and buried and ranks among the finest examples of Venetian Gothic architecture. In the immediate vicinity, guests can also admire the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, a veritable jewel of the renaissance, lined throughout with polychromatic marble. Visitors are advised to allow themselves the time to immerse themselves fully in the monumental splendour of Saint Mark's Square.

Room Description

All of the rooms are decorated in classic Venetian style. Each comes with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, shower or shower/bath, along with all the amenities necessary for guests' comfort and convenience, such as a minibar, a radio, satellite TV, Internet access and a direct dial telephone. Air conditioning is available between April and September, and can be individually controlled. A double bed, central heating and either a balcony or a terrace also come as standard. The hotel also offers 5 Junior Suites and 10 superior rooms for more discerning guests, with warm parquet flooring, elegant walnut furniture and finely worked tapestries, all of which are fitted with Jacuzzi baths.

In the summer season, between April and September, breakfast can be served on the enchanting terrace with a view across Santa Marina Square.
