this hotel is a very impressive example of the hospitality to be found in the city of belfast. on arrival the staff were very attentive and really friendly- from the doorman to the receptionist ,nothing was a problem. the room was good ,bathroom needs updating. on the date of our stay (saturday), we were told that it was a really busy evening in the city, so we opted to have food from the bar menu. the food was excellent, when it arrived (after 40 minutes). waitress service was good as it was getting really busy in the bar.the barmen werent too good though as i stood waiting to be served for over 8 mins at the counter ,whilst the two barmen on duty talked to a party of young ladies at one end of the bar. breakfast however the next morning was more of the same, i arrived down at 10-25 (breakfast finishes at 10-30),i entered the restaurant and the head waiter closed the door behind me to signify that the restaurant was now closed .i then waited for a table, and waited, and waited ,and waited until finally i called the head waiter over and complained ,in total i waited 15 minutes inside the restaurant door, before being seated. the breakfast itself was mediocre at best, cold grey scrambled egg, greasy bacon, and saugages.there were lots of uncleared tables in the restaurant, but it appeared that there was more than enough staff on duty as it was not really busy. i would stay again ,but there needs to be as much emphasis on customer service in both the bar and breakfast area as there is at the front of house area.
