compact and bijou is the best way to describe this tourist hotel, however that is in no way a damning report. If you are looking for somewhere clean, friendly and centrally located, the Timhotel Le Louvre is for you. It is located one block from the Louvre and 2 blocks from the Louvre metro, on a well lit street (so arriving back late at night wasn't a worry for us). We found the staff very friendly and helpful; breakfast in the court yard was pleasant and the choice of continental breakfast was good. There are a number of cafes and bars in the vicinity if the choice wasn't to your liking.
Six of us stayed at the hotel in April 2007 and found it's location perfect for sightseeing and shopping; we were able to pop back to the hotel part way through the day to freshen up/drop off acquisitions and carry on without losing too much time.
The rooms are a slight squeeze however, the beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and the hot water was hot! We laughed at the space however, we were in Paris to enjoy the sights, not lounge in our hotel so it served our purpose extremly well.
I would recommend it and will stay there again on my next visit.
