Customer Reviews for Virgilio Hotel Rome
Our Customer stayed here in April 2011
I was very disappointed with this hotel. I had done a good bit of research on Hotels before going to Italy and i picked this hotel based on their website and the picture they had of the rooms. Upon arrival the person at the desk was friendly enough but while we were checking in kept speaking to the staff members who kept interuppting him from checking us in so check in took a long time.
When we went up to the room I was extremely disappointed to see that the room was very small. So small that the bed was pressed against the wall and if two people were staying in the bed one would have to climb over the other to get out of it. There wasnt enough room to put our suitcases down and not enough room for two people to walk around the room at the same time. I went down to reception asking why the room was so small and looked nothing like the picture on the website. I was told " We only put the picture of the superior room on the website" when i told him this was very misleading he said well i shouold have done some more research. We ended up having to pay another €150 to "upgrade" to a superior room.
When we got to the superior room it was a perfect size however the bed (which was actually 2 single beds pushed together) was hard as a rock and very very uncomfortable. The pillows were wafer thin and might as well not have been there.
We were place on the 3rd floor which was obviously not yet properly constructed as every day there was banging and hammering and drilling going on and some of the walls werent even covered with paint. The website says that it is "near the Trevi Fountain" but it is a good 20 minute walk to it. I would not recommend this hotel at all for anybody.
