Sleek hotel. Presently undergoing renovations but this did not affect our stay. Staff very helpful. Alot of black in hotel, as this is there colour scheme, black carpet with thin white stripes, black marble washbasin in bathroom/shower. TV at end of bed, very upmarket style rooms. Breakfast was part self-service and waitress. Coffee are made individually by waitress for breakfast. Nice quite area of city. About two minutes walk from Tram.

The Vondel Hotel in Amsterdam is a lovely and modern hotel at a great location close to the Leidse square, the Vondel park and all the museums. The staff was very friendly and helpful (and quite efficient for Amsterdam, where you can often get a more "laid-back" service). The breakfast was excellent, a hot buffet as well as continental breakfast, catering for all tastes. I especially enjoyed their tasty pancakes.... A nice little bar too for pre-dinner drinks. We were also impressed by the funky interior. It looks quite plain from the outside but the interior design is very special and quite cosy. The only downside was that one of our two rooms was tiny- more like a small single room than a double room. But the other room was perfect! I would warmly recommend this hotel and I'd love to stay there again. Just make sure you get one of the bigger rooms!
