We decided to spend the May Bank Holiday weekend in the Talbot. Having arrived by train we were delighted when our room was ready as soon as we arrived, just after mid-day. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel was very accommodating as we needed coeliac options on the menu. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast and daytime menus were good value and very tasty. The hotel bar had live music each night and a special treat was the afternoon jazz on Sunday morning. All sports events were also available on screens throughtout the bar, while the foyer/ coffee area provided a relaxing atmosphere too. Overall a very enjoyable weekend in a hotel that is particularly suited to families and couples.
staff were really pleasant and helpful. nothing was too much trouble.the meal we had was for 50 people and was ok.i thought the veg were undercooked but overall it was fine.the room we had for the meal was beautifully done with chair covers and candles .the manager was very attentive and looked after us very well. the hotel needs to be refurbished ,the decor is very tired and a bit oldfashioned,it defo needs to be repainted. the room we had was small and again needs painting. the view from our room overlooking the sea was stunning .i will definately go back.
My stay at the Ferrycarrig Hotel was one of the most enjoyable I have had in recent years. From the time of arrival until checkout my visit was enhanced by the welcome and help of the staff on duty on Friday 18th May. and throughout my stay and checkout. Breakfast/room service and in the dining room were just delicious. I look forward to a return visit as do several of the party I was with who were also staying to attend a family wedding. I also liked the attention to detail eg. plant pruning and treatment to plumage
The hotel was comfortable and convenient. The setting was superb! The staff were friendly what more could one want.
Very enjoyable stay at Seafield hotel. I booked a package deal of dinner bed and breakfast which was very reasonable. I thought wine may have been included in the meal price but the food was very nice and the service was quick. There was a problem with the bill at the end of the dinner as the staff gave us the wrong one but it was quickly resolved. They were very busy on account of the Heineken Cup so we understood that they were under pressure. The room was very nice and it was lovely to have a bath and a shower separate in the bathroom. One complaint was that there were no bathrobes in the room and I phoned reception twice to request them but they never arrived. This was a bit inconvenient as we booked spa treatments and planned on wearing the robes to the spa. Having said all that the staff were pleasant, the food was delicious and the bed was very comfortable. Cliona
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Seafield for the third year running. Any special requests we had were met without question. Food in the restaurant was superb and of course the Spa and treatments were wonderful. Looking forward to heading back next year.
Very nice hotel with pleasant staff and good food. would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay outside Waterford City.
On arrival at the hotel we were informed we were being upgraded. The room we were upgraded to was beautiful. The lobby certainly makes an impression with it's beautiful finishes. We were informed of the three choices for our evening meal however there were no menus in the room. It would have been nice to make our choice without going downstairs to check out the seperate menus. The bar is quite small and we had to wait a while for a table to come free so that we could order. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Due to a delay in my husbands meal being brought out we were offered a free round of drinks without our having to say anything. We had a very relaxing stay and will certainly stay again.
My friend and I stayed for one night in twin room. Room very comfortable. The staff are brillant.
I have stayed in this hotel several times. This was a very brief stay (very late check in and early departure). As always the staff were pleasant and effiecient. The rooms clean and comfortable. No complaints.
I visited this hotel for a weekend away with my husband, two year old and a few friends. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning. The food in the hotel was very much under par as the quality of food was sub-standard (half frozen apple pie, limited selection, tough meat) from both their bistro and restaurant. The room, albeit adequate, was extremely warm (air con did not work), curtains smelled of stale smoke, and the level of noise from the adjoining room was very high (tv, voices). Overall, would not recommend this hotel.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfectly clean. We did not have any food so cannot comment, but when the hotel was being built, the budget obviously did not stretch to sound-proofing between rooms. Ordinary conversations in the next rooms seemed like they were in our room. I'd hate to get a room beside someone noisy! Bed not the most comfortable!
Nice Room & Surroundings. The Staff were friendly and efficient.
From the beginning everything was perfect . The entrance is lovely .,its so easy to find this Hotel, plenty of good car parking etc, The room was spacious very clean and bright ,outlook lovely ,the grounds landscaped beautifully .Only stayed one night ,but the food was so good i wend back the next night again even though it was out of my way .I told quite a few people about it .!I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends and colleagues
I have previously stayed in the Quality Hotel & i thought it was lovely. My stay this time wasn't the same. There was a stale smell of smoke in the room the walls were all dirty & one plug on the wall was all broken very unsafe looking. I understood it was New Years but kids were running up the halls at all hours knocking on the doors. The food was lovely. The receptionist had booked my dinner for me & told me she would ring & confirm it i sat in the room for 25 mins & no call I went to reception were she informed me she had booked it & when i entered the resturant the table was set for four people, there was only two of us!!
Hotel Rosslare was a awful hotel the 1st room I stayed in was too small it was a box there was a heating system behind me and every 5-10 seconds went off I then requested a different room as I wanted sleep and it was a much bigger but the smell of damp was terrible the bed linen felt damp and wet I then went to the bar for some lunch and ordered soup it was awful I advised a memeber of staff that this was terrible taste off this and he adivsed me he would say this to the chef he then came back and said "well I said it to the chef and he said it was perfect" what happened to the customer is always right I asked the member of staff did he taste this was was shuffed off by saying I dont taste the food I just turned my head sooooo let down by this hotel and I would not recommed this hotel to anyone it was a terrible terrible place
Room was clean and comfortable, food good, excellent breakfast, makes a change to have it fresh and not in a self-service buffet. Ideal for anyone using the ferries.
