This was clearly a very nice hotel "in it's day" ...
Our Customer stayed here in May 2011
This was clearly a very nice hotel "in it's day" however it is now very dated and in desperate need of renovation.
There was only 1 person working at the reception desk and it took over 30 minutes to check-in.
The lifts are tiny for such a large hotel and we gave up trying to use them as they were always full by the time they got to our floor!
The rooms are in a very poor state of repair and don't look as if they have been decorated in years.
The reception and concierge staff appeared to be very demotivated and were always "going to be back in a minute" which meant that they were standing in the street enjoying a cigarette!
We tried to use the hotel bar on 2 occasions and gave up in the end as there was no staff available to serve us!
The upsides however are that the inclusive breakfast buffet was excellent and the location of the hotel is very good for seeing the city.
This hotel is rated a 5* but some airlines have stopped using it as a crew hotel and I am not surprised as it frankly deserves a 3* rating at the very best now!
