All of the rooms were at one time of a good standard. They are furnished in tartans and warm colours although some of the decor is a little dated. The bedrooms are medium in size and the bathrooms are small.
The restaurant serves typical Scottish fayre and is traditional in design. It comprises a part of the main building of the hotel which is a short walk for some of the rooms.
It is a modern building from 1969 and a contemporary facade was built in 1986 in an attempt to make the hotel blend in with its surroundings. The hotel is actually split into two blocks with the furthest block only 45 seconds walk from the reception and restaurant.
The lobby is large and has been refurbished for a comfortable welcome to the hotel. Warm colours have been used with light woods, and tartan fabrics. There are roaring log fires and rugs on the floor.
The hotel has a popular leisure complex, with gym, sauna, jacuzzi, solarium and swimming pool. Particualry appropriate for families because of the leisure facilities, this is a comfortable stop with ample parking. (GH1208)
