The rooms are all ensuite and are quaint in their decoration. Full facilities are offered. All rooms come with tv, phone, hairdryer, trouser press, iron and ironing board. All rooms are in good condition as are the bathrooms The restaurant of the hotel has a good reputation for excellent food using all local ingredients and boasts 1 AA Rosette The hotel has a lot of character and was originally a coaching inn. Some sections of the hotel can be traced back to the Georgian, tudor and elizabethan periods. The lobby area has an open fire from November to February. It is very warm and welcoming. The hotel also has a garden with croquet lawn. A deligtful product.
Directions by road: Helmsley is 14 miles east of Thirsk on the A170 heading towards Scarborough. On entering Helmsley the hotel is at the end of the Market Place just left of the mini-roundabout.
