This fine country mansion, the former home of the Earls of Pembroke, has a magnificent mountain backdrop and panoramic views from its lakeside setting, yet is only a ten minute walk from the town centre. Elegant period furniture is complemented by more modern pieces to create a comfortable hotel offering a warm atmosphere with a particularly friendly team dedicated to guest care. A number of accommodation options are available, some in the original house, others in a more recent building accessed by a stunning conservatory. Dinner in the Herbert Room is a highlight of a stay at this property, with more casual fare on offer in the cosy Cellar Bar.
The rooms are spacious and furnished with antique pieces. All are large in size and in good condition, having a very homely feel about them. Most have views of the Kerry mountains. This hotel was very recently completely renovated and all new bathrooms with floor heating have been installed. The restaurant is known as one of the best in Killarney with quality and service being uppermost and enjoying stunning views. This is a grand manor house property and is traditional, both externally and internally. The lobby is quite small and is flanked by a very comfortable drawing room. The lobby in winter is made all the more homely by a roaring fire. Situated in its own secluded grounds, this hotel offers a very quiet and relaxed location to enjoy all that Kerry has to offer.
