Citywest is a nice hotel at a great location, however, it is a pity that your first point of contact with the staff is at the reception desk. The reception staff are not welcoming in any way, they would best be described as civil but distant. This is not the first time I have experienced this in Citywest. I return there because of the convenient location. For this visit, I had phoned Citywest before my stay and had specifically asked for a room as far away as possible from the Harry Potter Wizard Rock concert that was on that night as part of the Harry Potter 2017 Convention. I was however given a room that couldn't have been any closer to the concert if they tried. I was in bed, obviously not able to sleep and I phoned reception who offered to give me a room in the Swift wing which was much further away from the concert, however, as I was already in bed, I declined the offer. The receptionist then asked me to 'hold on a moment, she came back on the phone and stated that 'all Harry Potter 'Leaky Con' convention attendees were advised that there could be loud noise at night time. I said that I did not book the hotel through Leaky Con. An apology would have been nice but it was a 'take it or leave it offer'. The restaurant and bar staff were as always, very welcoming and professional, the room was clean and modern, its just a shame that the reception staff are so unwelcoming. What a difference from my recent stay in the Manor West Hotel, Tralee, where the reception staff are so helpful, warm and welcoming, they would give you every reason to go back and stay there.

Staff excellent, food excellent, room beautiful. Lovely place to stay.
I had a one night stay at City West hotel and the check in staff were very nice and helpful. The Rooms were very clean and nice. The breakfast the next day was not good. The hotel was fully booked and understood it was busy but for a large hotel I expected to find a cup on the table or near the coffee station. There was a lot of staff standing around and I constantly had to ask for cups where is the knifes and folks. It was hard work for a breakfast would not recomend it. Linen table cloths was also stainned on a lot of tables. Breakfast needs improvemnt.

Great location checked in within minutes even with such a big que before me. Big bedroom beautifully decorated warm and so welcoming. Tea/coffee making facilities a nice touch. Plenty of accessories in bathroom, great shower. Very clean with crisp white sheets. Fantastic Breakfast had such a choice to choose from hot or cold. Great value and looking forward to returning soon with family and friends. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at City West numerous times and at least twice a month have Sunday lunch there. We were there this time to see The Tommy Teirnan show. We checked in and a lovely lady up graded our room because we were regular visitors. We booked the Bistro for dinner. However after a lovely start with the upgrade this is where it went wrong. Our meal was terrible, thankfully the staff who are lovely didn't charge us for one of the meals, both were sent back just picked at. When we went to see the show, the sound was really bad and we were only in the second row, I'm glad we weren't at the back. So unfortunately, this time we were very disappointed.
