Hotel was clean, staff were pleasant and facilities were great. We ate in the front bar and whilst food was nice staff were disinterested and got a number of our orders wrong. We also made a request with a staff member, and when we spoke to him again 5 mins later he was unable to recall the conversation. Was great stay overall, busy hotel with great atmosphere. Breakfast was great
Fab hotel, lovely quiet rooms on swift wing, staff very helpful and friendly
Really enjoyed my stay at City West Hotel this year. I found the staff very attentive and helpful. Shortly after leaving the hotel I realised that I had left some items of clothing in the wardrobe of my bedroom. I rang immediately but was informed that the Lost and Found Department wasn't open until the Monday. I rang again on the Monday morning and a very helpful member of staff named Aaron went and checked the bedroom for me and retrieved the lost items. He also made arrangements for them to be collected at reception.I really appreciated his efforts to help me out and wish to acknowledge his helpfulness.
Citywest is a nice hotel at a great location, however, it is a pity that your first point of contact with the staff is at the reception desk. The reception staff are not welcoming in any way, they would best be described as civil but distant. This is not the first time I have experienced this in Citywest. I return there because of the convenient location. For this visit, I had phoned Citywest before my stay and had specifically asked for a room as far away as possible from the Harry Potter Wizard Rock concert that was on that night as part of the Harry Potter 2017 Convention. I was however given a room that couldn't have been any closer to the concert if they tried. I was in bed, obviously not able to sleep and I phoned reception who offered to give me a room in the Swift wing which was much further away from the concert, however, as I was already in bed, I declined the offer. The receptionist then asked me to 'hold on a moment, she came back on the phone and stated that 'all Harry Potter 'Leaky Con' convention attendees were advised that there could be loud noise at night time. I said that I did not book the hotel through Leaky Con. An apology would have been nice but it was a 'take it or leave it offer'. The restaurant and bar staff were as always, very welcoming and professional, the room was clean and modern, its just a shame that the reception staff are so unwelcoming. What a difference from my recent stay in the Manor West Hotel, Tralee, where the reception staff are so helpful, warm and welcoming, they would give you every reason to go back and stay there.
Staff excellent, food excellent, room beautiful. Lovely place to stay.
I had a one night stay at City West hotel and the check in staff were very nice and helpful. The Rooms were very clean and nice. The breakfast the next day was not good. The hotel was fully booked and understood it was busy but for a large hotel I expected to find a cup on the table or near the coffee station. There was a lot of staff standing around and I constantly had to ask for cups where is the knifes and folks. It was hard work for a breakfast would not recomend it. Linen table cloths was also stainned on a lot of tables. Breakfast needs improvemnt.
Great location checked in within minutes even with such a big que before me. Big bedroom beautifully decorated warm and so welcoming. Tea/coffee making facilities a nice touch. Plenty of accessories in bathroom, great shower. Very clean with crisp white sheets. Fantastic Breakfast had such a choice to choose from hot or cold. Great value and looking forward to returning soon with family and friends. Highly recommended.
We have stayed at City West numerous times and at least twice a month have Sunday lunch there. We were there this time to see The Tommy Teirnan show. We checked in and a lovely lady up graded our room because we were regular visitors. We booked the Bistro for dinner. However after a lovely start with the upgrade this is where it went wrong. Our meal was terrible, thankfully the staff who are lovely didn't charge us for one of the meals, both were sent back just picked at. When we went to see the show, the sound was really bad and we were only in the second row, I'm glad we weren't at the back. So unfortunately, this time we were very disappointed.
Breakfast and Lunch- food very good especially carvery lunch. Room big and everything in order in room- spotless. No noise Wednesday and Thursday nights. However, Friday night was very noisy some kind of Irish dancing tournament going on children banging doors, parents loud voices, children running around hotel corridors and in the bar area not always under the control of the parents mad stuff! Staff in the hotel very welcoming especially waiting staff and man who takes the breakfast voucher at door. Staff in the leisure center also very nice and had a couple of wonderful swims. Oh the lift was out of order on and off on the Swift Wing over the 3 nights I was staying. I staying on the 4th floor, a lot of stairs and walking to my room from reception.
From the moment I completed the reservation on Roomex to the time I posted my hotel security card in the 'Express Check-out' box after my stay in CityWest, I must admit it has been a very good all-round experience. Seamless, time efficient Roomex booking process -> comfortable, clean, spacious, quiet, well decorated room. Plenty towels and soap supplies in bathroom, room temp was perfect - not too hot or stuffy. Best stay in any hotel in a long time. Was nervous of carpets as my son has sensitive chest, but he had no reaction at all which must indicate good levels of cleanliness. Staff polite and helpful. Well done Roomex and CityWest - you have earned a return visitor.
Lovely hotel, the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Food in restaurant was best part. Location is good also. Bad bits: Had room right outside elevator, surprising what people discuss when waiting for the lift and how loud they discuss it. Television was like something from the 80's. Shower was impossible to take without a tsunami on the bathroom floor (shield way too small). Had to request an iron and board. Car park is too far from the hotel and large queues at reception. Bank machine was out of service. And as standard now in all hotels, after walking all the ways to the room the card didn't open the door, barely got an apology when back down in reception to get it re scanned so it would work.
We were there for the All-Ireland. What a game! The hotel was decked out in the black and amber- fab. Room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Well done Roomex and well done Kilkenny!
Good hotel and room was very good value for money.
Not the Hotel it once was, the standard has slipped. the food quality has dropped, the bar prices remain too high with no ennterainment, the main entrance to the hotel is where the smokers gather and dispose of their butt ends in a sand filled large flower pot. Flower pote are for flowers and smokers should be given an area out the back/side of hotel where their smoke does not annoy guests trying to enter the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for a wedding. The staff were friendly and patient with the children and the food was delicious. You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts. A couple of minor faults here and there that needed to be fixed.
travelled up from cork with my son for the all ireland hurling replay. The twin room we stayed in was spotless and very spacious.Staff were more than helpful even though the hotel was full to capacity, hugh crowds for breakfast would cause a problem i thought, not a bother service was excellent.Another reason I would return to this hotel you are only 10 minutes walk to the Luas, the only dissapointing feature of the week-end was that cork lost the all ireland, but like cork we will be back.
Good hotel, great service, and very good leisure facilities
Has got to be 1 of the biggest STANDARD bedrooms i ever stayed in. Great. Bed was sooo comfortable.I will be staying again for sure.
Room very good, spacious & clean, Very good value for the price
Attended a conference and happy with accommodation and thought food was excellent considering over a thousand were being catered for at each meal.Power cuts occurred and TV in room did not work for hours afterwards but really hadn't time for watching it. Fortunately, my children were not with me as an unworkable tv would have been a disaster for them! My only complaint concerns the quality of the towels which I felt were overwashed and lacking in softness! I will be back but also wish the conference centre was connected by a covered walkway to the hotel as the weather was very wet.
Room was very good. Breakfast for €16 each came up short
Hotel was large and comfortable, rooms were a good size and very well fitted out in a 'country house' style. Modern facilities including WiFi in the lounge areas and a very big gym for guests to use. I would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed our stay. Room was excellent as usual. Breakfast left a little to be desired. Hot breakfast was not very hot.
room was lovely and wloads of space, nice and quiet with lovely size bed
good hotel, nice area and excellent buzz for the darts. rooms are very basic but fine. breakfast way overpriced at 15 euro though....
I had to stay in this hotel as there was an event being held there which I was attending. The Check in process was very efficient, the room was exceptional both in size, facilities and cleanliness. I ate in the Bistro - food was excellent and good value for money. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
Had a great night in a room bigger than expected - could have brought the whole family! Great price and no issues
Everything was fine only booked a Twin room but when i arrived I was given a double and told there was no twins available.
room was very noisy ,outside there was a fan going all night.got no sleep very disapointed
Everything was really great, room comfortable and hotel facilities and areas all good. thank you will soon come again.
Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Lovely big bed. No complaints. Beautiful grounds to walk during the day and the bar is very lively at night. Lots going on.
Rather dated building and rooms. Breakfast really boring and sausages etc., were tasteless. Rooms were clean and service friendly.Way out of town so unless you have transport its about 30euros each way into Dublin, thought there is the Luas and Bus stop outside the complex..
We were there for the CLRG All Ireland Irish Dnace Championships and enjoyed the experience overall however there were a few negatives.my pizza was clearly burnt when it arrived at my table and I handed it back in disbelief that the chef could have thought he may have gotten away without it being retuned.By the time a replacement was cooked, everyone had finished their food and I ate alone, holding everyone up.when we went to pay the bill there was also 3 drinks on the bill that we hadn't ordered or received.apologies were given and we did receive a larger pizza but it was wasted as I was no longer hungry because of such a delay.I appreciate the venue was busy due to such a large event on site however standards should not slip regardless. The single bed in the room wasn't made up the following day as there was a hand bag on the bed, could not the memeber of housekeeping, lifted the bed from the bag and then made it? We had lunch in the bar on day two and one order was overlooked completely and again by the time this persons order came back,we had all finished our food. Apologies were given but it is little to late when you are on a dancing competition tight schedule. Thanks,
Friendly, helpful staff from check-in to check out. Got a sumptuous, large room and this more than compensated for it being on ground floor; I usually prefer to be at least one floor up! Only one fault when the fuse board tripped and knocked off the t.v and all accessible sockets. I had to wait until the following day for problem to be sorted. However, I discovered the cause as the same thing happened again when I used the kettle! Overall, a well heated hotel with great foyer space and on-site hair and beauty salon... what more could one want? I'll be back!
would not be going back here again. room on bottom floor and a long walk to it. Could'nt fault the decor of the hotel and it was very clean and beautiful furniture. Breakfast very disappointing as we like a cooked breakfast and it was awful, funny taste as if it was a cheap oil it was cooked in. Poached eggs tasted of nothing only vinegar, orange juice on one of the mornings definitely had water in it i gave it to the waiter and he said it was gone off, but did'nt ask if i wanted a replacement which i would'nt anyway.Staff very friendly especially bar staff and housekeeping staff. Seems to be an events hotel not for a relaxing break. The fact that you had to go outside to get to leisure center and spa in cold weather would'nt encourage one to use it too often.
The room was very good, but the Bar prices i was not happy with.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the city west. On arrival the reception was quite busy, but the reception staff were dealing with it very efficiently. We were checked in quickly and smoothly. The room was very clean and spacious and the bathroom was bigger than the normal hotel ensuite size. Our stay included breakfast which was buffet style and very good quality. We were staying with our daughter who was taking part in an Irish dancing championship and the staff were more than helpful with any queries we had. I will be staying at city west again and will be recommending it to my friends and colleagues.
quick check in room well appointed and clean . good breakfast. good value for money
hotels was lovely but we attended a black tie event and the food was not the best
Room and service good but meal at function attended wasn't great alot of people unhappy as ticket price for function was quiet expensive!
My stay in Citywest Hotel was absolutely faultless, from the moment I arrived until I checked out. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous at all times. I would recommend to anyone.
We had a fantastic time at City west hotel, we went there for the darts world grand prix the atmosphere was fantastic in the hotel. The hotel was very welcoming the staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was toomuch trouble. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and kept to a high standard.
We arrived at citywest and the booking was confirmed no problem. I am always dubious when using a new service for the first time, but Roomex did not let me down. We had an easy process checking in and all staff were very welcoming and courteous. I have stayed in Citywest on previous occasions and this would only strengthen my desire to stay there again.
Gorgeous, spacious room. The hotel is surrounded by stunning grounds. All staff I met were exceptional in their professionalism & manner. Would definitely stay again.
This is my fourth year at the City West and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first!!
Simple check In, Great Staff and Fabulous Room
Staff stretched to the limit catering for the amount of people staying. Woke in the morning to find that I couldnt have a hot ...or even warm shower. Absolutely no warm water. I've stayed in dodgy B&Bs and even they had hot water. A bit reminiscent of being in student halls and having to be up early before someone else had all the hot water!! Disappointing because the room was lovely, food decent and hotel comfortable.
Although Ive stayed in this hotel on numerous occassions and always had a fantastic stay I have to say I was very disappointed with this trip. We were given a room in what appeared to be the older side of the hotel that was very dated. The window looked out on to a blank wall and what looked like the delivery entrance and so it was very noisy all night with bottles being dumped and from 6 am in the morning the noise started again. There was no thermostat like in the other rooms we have stayed and we couldn't open the window due to the noise so it was very warm all night. That said the rooms in the hotel are very spacious and the showers are quite good. Staff are always friendly too.
Excellent room, clean, comfortable and large. Helpful staff, good restaurants (Lemongrass in the Golfhotel was great). One minor negative was that the swimming pool/ spa closes on sunday at 6PM which was a bit annoying.
Staff very friendly on booking in. Had by key and pass card available on arrival. Have stayed many times here. The hotel was extreamly busy but it did not seem to make a difference to the service
Beautiful hotel, excellent staff and service
we enjojed our stay ;hotel was very nice and good price so we would definitely stay again soon i hope .
This is our 4th time. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The reception hall was designed and set up beautifully, everything finished off to the highest quality. Our room was about 1minutes away, Even though the hotel was very busy staff so helpful and made time to chat also breakfast was lovely also all of the staff were great and they were so busy You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay ! Looking forward to our next trip well done city west it has everything anybody needs for weekend break
Room as usual very good. Breakfast as usual very poorly presented and as usual very poor quality on the non-fried food sections.
The reception staff were very friendly at check-in and check-out. The room was very good with lots of space. I did notice that the bathroom vent and ceiling could have done with a good clean but overall, it was great value for money. We availed of a bus service from the hotel to Dublin City Centre return for €12 which was great too! Lovely surroundings and facilities to be got at City West.
The hotel is in the most quiet nice, albeit huge. The staff were friendly and helpful. The leisure facility was also nice but very busy. The bedroom was very clean and reasonably spacious. I got the room at a knock down rate including breakfast. The breakfast was satisfactory. Breakfast time was very busy and noisy due to the large numbers. But for €56 single including breakfast it is exceptional value. Try out the Lemongrass Restaurant in the Golfclub beside the hotel for a nice meal at a reasonable price too.
An excellent hotel and set in beautiful surroundings. The room we stayed in was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff very courteous. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay
execellent hotel really good value!!!
As usual city-west at the roomex price is excellent. Great big rooms, great whirlpool baths, and huge crisp bed. Beautiful furniture in all the rooms as well. Receptionist arranged a grab and go breakfast also as I was checking out early. No complaints.
Had an absolutely brilliant stay in Citywest. What a hotel...WOW...!! Room was fab. However, we got lost trying to make our way to our room on second section of the Swift Wing as the directions were a bit confusing. Also, when using one of the lifts, the floor number didn't show up on the panel so we didn't know when the lift door opened what floor we were on, plus there weren't any signs opposite the lift to say what floor we were on - we had to physically get out of the lift and walk around the corner to see where we were. But overall, this hotel is A1 and we'll definitely be back...!!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was in a handy enough location on the second floor. There was no view from the room however. We were looking down on the air conditioning units but they were not noisy during our stay.If I was staying for longer a view would be nice as the hotel is set in lovely parkland/wooded surroundings. The bed was a little uncomfortable. The staff were extremely helpful, the food was lovely and the portions were very generous. The signposting coming in from the N7 needs to be improved as the hotel would have been difficult to find if I hadn't had printed instructions from the hotel website(though I couldn't get them for a route from Wexford).
Once again we had a great overnight stay at the Citywest, got family room by phone request to hotel, took the offer of B+B plus evening meal(3 course) food and service excellent will be back again in June.
I usually choose Citywest when I am driving to Dublin. I like the location of the hotel, the leisure centre is a big attraction and apart from the quality of the food, the staff are friendly and co-operative.
Evrything was perfect. Really enjoyable stay.
Due to the size of the hotel the walk from your room to the outside world can actually take a while. It has over 730 rooms at least. The room size and bed were great, with a large spacious bathroom. The most frustrating thing was the TV kept freezing every 4-5 minutes for about 10 seconds. Also no mushrooms with fried breakfast. Air conditioning either on or off, no range in settings - although this was just my room. Other than that really very pleasant. Enjoyed the free broadband by ethernet cable. Great eastern food restaurant 2 minutes walk down the road.
Attended a wedding here-could not fault the wedding at all and the meal was gorgeous. No faults at all with the wedding! The only fault i could find was that room service wasnt available for breakfast for the weekends so we had to go to the dining room! Overall a great hotel though!
Very good price from Roomex , saved around 40%. Hotel very good , would go again and would always use Roomex to book.
hotel was fab
I was satisfied with Roomex.com I booked a Euro 50 hotel room for 2 nights, printed out the hotel coupons and got the room, no complaints at all. The 50 euro a night room at City West Hotel in Dublin was also cheaper than if I had booked the room with the hotel, they charge 68 a night for the same room. I am from Denmark and the next time I go on holiday anywhere, I would like to book my hotel stay with Roomex.com again if their prices are as good as it was for this hotel. I am going to Hamburg and India next, and I am a budget traveller.
Had a really good stay. Great evening meal in the Lemon Grass -superb. Beautiful room. Separate shower & bath incl jacuzzi. Very good value.
I have stayed in a lot of hotels but this has topped them all for friendliness of staff, willingness to help and during dinner when ten of us where sitting down, we were all served together by a number of staff carrying the food ... never have I seen that before - the rooms and beds were very comfortable and clean - the lifts worked - what more can I say.
A gorgeous hotel - comfortable but simple. Great leisure centre with lovely spa area. Good room service menu, and affordable. Lovely grounds. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast included. Oh, and his Holiness The Dalai Lama visited making the trip most memorable!!
Excellent hotel, v good location, gave free upgrade to a superior room... will crtainly stay there again!!
The hotel is in a lovely setting and easily accessible by car from either the airport or the ferry ports. The access to Dublin will soon be even better when the new tram line opens which will be within easy walking distance of the hotel. Our room was excellent, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and there are several bar areas as well as outside tables if you want a drink in the evening. We didn’t use the restaurant but it looked lovely. On the down side, older people with walking difficulties might find it a struggle as due to the size of the hotel, walking to your room can be quite a long trek and the TV reception is not great even though most channels are available. It should be remembered that the hotel does cater for a lot of conferences, wedding parties, etc, so be prepared for it being busy in the public areas at times and possibly noisy if such activities are happening. Overall we had a great time, made better by the deal we got by booking through Roomex.com
allways enjoy our stay in City west. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Lovely Staff. Very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. looking forward to a return visit . Myra Kehoe
We were very pleased with our stay in City west.the staff throughout the hotel were very helpful.
Hotel was super but prices in bar were ridiculous! EUR4.65 for a vodka!!!!!!!!
3rd time staying at the City West so they must be doing something right. The triple room was very spacious. The staff who are predominately local are very friendly and professional. You will need a car but the nearby(10 Mins) Luas park and ride allows fast easy and cheap access to the city centre.
Really nice hotel, fantastic faucilities and very helpful and friendly staff. The only issue I had was having no hot water for two days on the run, however the staff were very appologetic and gave me a free 3 course meal on my final night to compensate for my inconvienence.
Hotel was very clean and friendly.
Excellent value for money, staff very friendly. Hotel complex is excellent with a number of activities to choose from. I was only staying for one night and didn't have the time to sample the full range available. When staying in Dublin in the future, City West will be my first choice.
We went to citywest for the irishopen so the hotel was very busy, but the service was still superb. The rooms were very spacious, clean and bright, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole experience up there was fantastic. I cant fault this hotel in any way there is a lot of security so you feel very safe, the grounds on which the hotel sit and beautifully looked after and the food was lovely. We were given a key card that wouldnt work and when we rang to explain there was a porter down in our roomin seconds. All in all a great day and night and I wouldnt hesitate recommending this hotel to any one.
Overall very satisfied with the experience. Excellent value for money, hotel has a lot of facilities - excellent value in the Lemon grass restaurant (in the second building) - thats why we chose the hotel initially, but enoyed the overall experience. Staff in Lemon Grass were excellent. The Room in the hotel was nice warm and clean, breakfast was nice. Bar could do with a better atmosphere, otherwise would recomend the hotel for business or a pleasant overnight stay.
Citywest hotel The reception hall was designed and set up beautifully, everything finished off to the highest quality. You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay ! Superb staff very frindly and so helpful nothing was a bother room was beautful wish all hotel rooms were like this check in was no problem we were allowed to check in earlier food great leasure centre very clean and staff great bar staff know now to make everyone welcome looking forward to my next stay We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. .
Stayed in the CityWest hotel for one Friday night in Februaury 2011 and really enjoyed my stay. Although busy , the staff were very very nice. From receptionist, waiter in restaurant, barstaff, all very helpful and personable. In the restaurant we enjoyed a really lovely meal. We were thrilled to get a table close to the tv, so we could watch the rugby match. The waiter was very honest with his recomendations which we totally apreciated. There are a choice of three bars/lounges to drink in, but the two at the front are freeezing. I don't know why any establishment would have air conditioning on in middle of a very cold Februaury. Also the main doors are kept open. The room we had was in the "Swift" wing, it was big and spacious. The bed was huge, it was great. Bathroom was big also. Plenty of toiletries and towels. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, couldn't fault it all. We didn't get to check out the leisure-centre/pool due to time constraints. Really enjoyed my stay here, and would go back in a heartbeat.
I booked an overnight stay in The Citywest Hotel for a function that was running there, the room was a long walk from reception down corridors (room 1839) but it had lovely walnut furniture, a cozy bed and good sized bathroom. Our stay was comfortable. If you're into golfing or a quiet break, it's a good location otherwise it's a bit too far from the city centre.
We had a great stay at the Citywest hotel on probably one of the hotels busiest weekends, room was great staff were pleasant even though they were under pressure from the crowds that where visiting the Top gear festival overall can't think of any reason not to go back!
This hotel was fabulous. We stayed here two nights and had a ball. The staff were very helpful, the food was excellent and the room decor was so beautiful that I have been taking notes for my own house!!! We booked through roomex and there was absolutely no hassle. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Excellent accommodation; large airy spacious room with free broadband; huge bed; very good furnishing. Had dinner in the hotel; food excellent. Breakfast very good also but buffet style. I have a personal preference for table service. All in all would highly recommend. Also excellent value.
I was disappointed with the noise levels on our floor the 4th floor. The hotel security were very slow to deal with the many complaints from guests being woken up by young party goers trying to get into Room parties. I know that there was hurling celebrations on but at 4am you do expect to try and get some sleep!! Our room was very small I was told it was a family room but compared to the room we had last year it was very average. Service for the Bar and breakfast was very good.
Fabulous Hotel, room was lovely and spacious and bright, jacuzzi bath, bed was comfortable. It was like Fort Knox trying to get into the bedrooms as the fans and supporters of the Kilkenny Teams were staying there. It was very noisy throughout the night but I suppose its to be expected given the night that was in it. I expect it would be much quieter on a normal weekend and would definitely stay there again
It's always a pleasure to stay in Citywest because of its location, ease of parking, the feeling of being 'in the country' because of the freedom to walk and breathe in fresh air. Most of all its good value. And, of course, for anybody travelling to Dublin from the south it's so convenient.
Check in was speedy and efficient. The room was well appointed and clean. The gym facility was excellent and the relaxing area was very well managed. Th only negative in regard to the Sauna and Steam room is the size. They are a little small. Breakfast was warm, had good vatriety and service was good. We enjoyed our short stay.
Room very spacious and clean. Excellent hotel, very friendly staff.
The Hotel is a very comfortable and has the added bonus of a superbly equipped gym plus 2 golf courses on the site to make the summer evenings much more interesting (the 16th, 17th and 18th on the PGA golf course are among the best I have ever played - check out the pictures of the "teasing" 18th green with a long carry over a lake!). Rooms are almost identical throughout the hotel (so you know exactly whay you are getting week to week regardless of whether you have a single or double room whatever the location of the room in the hotel). The walk to your room can be a long one through a very illogical maze of connceting wings during the busy periods at the hotel (particularly in the summer when you could find yourself in the "Golf" Hotel which is closed for c4 months of the year and is a few minutes walk from the main hotel). Despite being absolutely massive the service at the hotel is very personal and the staff are extremely accomodating. Restauraunt food is adequate if a little stingy on portion size but the menu is getting a bit tired (hardly any specials and the same menu for the last 6 months) and a bit pricey. I have stayed at the Citywest for a couple of days a week across most weeks in the last 18 months and my stay there has almost always been at the very least satisfactory. Great exhibtion there at the moment in the vast conference centre recently completed adjacent to the hotel(artifacts from the Titantic) - you almost feel like you on the ship! Look out for events at the Conference centre before you book as price can vary significantly if there is something big on (e.g. darts, GAA dinner etc.).
During my 2 night stay at The Citywest I left feeling totally exhausted due to the lact of sleep. I stayed on the second floor were the noise levels were totally unacceptable. There were 2 functions on at the hotel and most of the revellers who attented, partied until breakfast! I rang reception after 4.30pm to inform them of the noise levels in the corridors but the continued. Due to the size of the hotel I feel they security was very poor indeed.
We were attending a function in Citywest and decided to stay as it was better value than getting taxis home. The room was huge and the bathroom was also very spacious. Both had everything we needed and more. We were on the ground floor which was very handy for popping back and forth from the party. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent. After checking out, we had the opportunity to pop in to the Christmas Gift and Craft fair that was on in the hotel, which was a lovely end to our stay.
The room was great value - well decorated and quite a large size, I would definately stay there again for that price!
enjoyed our stay rooms clean and comfortable good breakfast in mornings no complaints
Lovley Hotel, and a good price, the pillows were a bit on the poor side, but great overall
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Rooms were nice and clean and a good size and were very cosy. Staff were very friendly. Meal was lovely. Breakfast was very good. Checkout time for 11a.m. was a bit early as breakfast finished at this time too was a bit of a rush especially if you have kids with you. Apart from that i would go back to stay at this hotel.
Room was a good size, nicely decorated. Bed was large and clean. The bat was a Jacuzzi type bath. The toilet could have been cleaned a bit better inside the bowl. The carpets need to be steam cleaned. Breakfast was a bit cold and greasy. However as a Newlywed couple we were given an upgrade to the Superior room by the Citywest hotel.
This truely is a world class facility. We enjoyed the World Darts Grand Prix in a new 3000+ capacity conference centre, great eating and drinking, and played golf on two wonderful courses all on the same complex what more could you ask for. Only complaint would be the cost to eat and drink with such a poor exchange from sterling to euro. The room rate is very good value even with such a poor exchange
we loved our stay. the staff were helpful, rooms were lovely, will come back in the future
stayed there on the friday of the irish grand prix of darts.had a great time, room excellent and the hotel was busy all day but staff still had time to have a quick chat.great buffet breakfast the next morning as well.see you next year.
We stayed at the citywest for one night, for the semi final of the darts. Our stay there was so good that im goin to book two nights for next years event. From the moment we arrived we knew we booked the right place to stay, the girl at receipton was so friendly and helpfull, our room just perfect, clean as a whistle. breakfast next morning, wasnt able to eat for rest of the day after the breakfast we got. Anymore when we go to dublin goin to stay there, out of a 100 i give it 180.
Fantastic service. We had a beautiful big room which was fully equipped and breakfast was served up until 11am which is brilliant and gave us time to sleep off our little hangovers. Considering the enormous crowds that were in Citiwest last Friday night for the Darts I cant give enough credit to the staff at the hotel for the way the fantastic big breakfast was set up. There was no hanging around or waiting, you got into the queue and were served up the most amazing big full Irish breakfast in seconds with lashing of tea, coffee, toast etc and if you wanted more there was no drama. I was highly impressed and will definately be making a return visit to Citiwest. Well done to all.
Room was very nice and modern with plasma tv and a huge bed but since the rennovations the signage for the rooms is fairly non existant.
Although we were only there for the one night we had a truly great time and found the standard of rooms to be excelent with pleasent and friendly staff who made our stay all the more enjoyible. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for your stay be it for one night or one week.
Recommended and would definitely book again.
It is good to see that the Lemon Grass restuarant has opened again in the City West Hotel complex, which now gives a wider choice of food options.
I had a very enjoyable stay even though next time I stay in City West I will ask for a room nearer the reception area and other facilities.. CityWest can be like a maze, 1 of my friends actually got lost for 1 hour trying to find his room.In saying that the room was very clean and the staff very friendly.
We stayed at city west recently, we were going to racing at the curragh which meant we weren't too far away. The rooms were lovely and breakfast very good. Despite the amount of people staying there that night there was no noise.
i have stayed at the hotel a few times before and always thaught it was just a class place
Just stayed for one night. Nice room, friendly staff
We were very happy with this hotel, lovely area will diff go again but when its more quieter
I stayed in this hotel for the all Ireland final Cork v Kerry. It was a fantastic stay, food was lovely and the service. The bus in and out of the Citywest was excellent and a great service to have on. Even though Cork lost i really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is beautiful and even though it was very busy everything was run very well.Thanking you. P.S I'd stay there again and recommened it to my friends and family.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for the All Ireland (unfortunately supporting the losing side). The rooms were very clean - just what you woudl expect from a 4* Hotel. The Leisure Centre was fantastic & we did not have to move from the Hotel for the weekend. Staff were very helpful - in all a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
I am a regular user of this hotel and i remain very satisfied with the level of serviec offered by the hotel.
Always a good standard of room, cleanliness and general service. Bar and food of a good standard with good service again. A good overall experience
Check in fast and efficient Room excellent now with free internet connection. Restaurant food and service also very good. An enjoyable return visit, pity there was no time to play golf. will rebook next time.
We had taken my in-laws away for a short break and we really enjoyed the hotel. The bedrooms were spotless and well equipped and the Bistro which we used 2 nights had a great selection of food which suited all of us. The breakfasts were superb and we also enjoyed the leisure facilities. All in all we feel we made an excellent choice in the Citywest Hotel as we had never been there before and it was so convenient to all services.
stayed at citywest for 2 nights, staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious and clean, bar was lively but drinks were quite expensive. overall a great place, will visit again.
Very nice hotel with great facilities. Hotel room was a good size and the breakfast was adequate. It said it finished at 10 though we arrived after and they were still serving. Also the bistro did good food with great service. Would definelty stay again, it is a fair distance out of Dublin however if you were going out at night would be hard to get back to the hotel.
We booked this hotel and took friends along for a treat - great rate available on Roomex to be able to do this! Rooms lovely as usually, plently going on which was great for me as I love people watching. Dinner in the Lemongrass was superb and breakfast provided a great variety to suit all. Usual tip for any hotel goers - dont leave breakfast too late as the usual queue has to be expected. We will be back before Xmas and are considereing booking family as part of their Xmas treats.
Nice comfortable room, en suite and tasty breakfast with plenty to go around...Last orders for breakfast time just a little too early...All in all though very good value
I've stayed a few times in the CityWest hotel. I've always found the rooms roomy and tidy. The staff at the reception desk and helpful and quick and the Breakfast staff friendly and accomodating. I was also very impressed with the size of the Pool in the adjoining leisure centre. Often these can be disappointing in hotels but not so as CityWest. I intend to stay again in the future.
good clean and up market hotel and very good value at the price on line
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. The tea making facilities were appreciated also after our long drive to get there. The bathroom was a very good size with plenty of towels. The only disappointment was the shower head which didn't give a good spray and was stationery but we had a great nights sleep. We also ate in the hotel and the food was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
A beautiful hotel with beautiful surrounds, lovely people and a great place for a weekend break away! Golf courses are just stunning and we will be back very soon for another stay!
The hotel more than lived up to its reputation. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.
We stayed at the City West Hotel for a wedding and were very impressed. The Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable and the staff were very helpful. I would advise to ask for a room near the lift, if you don't like walking in heels too much, as our room was last along the corridor and it is quite a walk at 2 in the morning!
Hotel was quite nice. Rooms were large and quite clean although they may be in need of an update sometime soon. The communal areas of bars, reception, restaurants and gardens were very nice - expensive - but no more so than the rest of Dublin. Played a nice round of golf on the championship course which was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. We also used the health club which was well equipped and very pleasant. Breakfast was a treat. Loads of choice and professionally presented and served. The one major gripe about this hotel is that its way out from the city centre. We had a hire car but due to the traffic in the city (almost all day rush hour it seems) it took far longer than we would have liked to get in and out of town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a golf break who wants to stay the majority of the time around the hotel. However if you want to make the most of the Dublin nightlife then Id advise to look for a hotel in town.
We stayed at the Citywest for a darts tournament that was being hosted in the Citywest. We found the rate very reasonable, i hasten to add, that i perhaps thought it too reasonable, hence i was expecting a over commercialised hotel with no redeeming qualities! However, i was more than presently suprised, the hotel is supposed to be the biggest in Europe, and with over 1300 rooms, its not hard to see why, however, i didn't feel that, as the grounds were beatiful (also hosting a golf course!) and the older part of the building were full of character, the interior was just as beautiful, we stayed in the main hotel, on arrival, you were led into a large reception area, to your left was the 4-5 staff waiting to check people in, and although when we arrived it was quite busy, we were still seen to quite quickly, to be honest the reception staff were unremarkable enough, not friendly or smiley people but this would only have been a problem if i had to deal with them again, which i didn't. the main building was full of mouldings, and chandeliers, and def did not feel commerical. Our room was a large room, with a large ensuite which was perhaps a little dated. our room didn't have the most glamorous view in the world, (car park) however, the room itself more than met its price tag, i've paid double in the past and got something similar! We didn't eat at the hotel, and i didn't get to see the restaurants (4) but the bars were lively and there seemed to be loads of nooks and crannies, to get lost in. The price of drinks was very expensive, i assume that maybe this is where they make their money! even 2 teas cost over €5!! at €5.20!! The breakfast (incl in the price) was very nice, well cooked, well served, in a beautiful room with plenty of space, there were loads to choose from and everything was fresh and appetising! We also had reason to go over to the golf hotel, the reception in this one was for my tastes more beautiful, the bar was also quite beautiful. all in all i wouldn't hestitate to stay again, although i may treat myself to a superior room next time!!
our stay at the City West Hotel was very relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel was lovely with beautiful country views and a superb golf course..We had access to the Hotel swimming pool which our teenagers really enjoyed... the rooms were extremely spacious, very clean and relaxing. Staff were at all times very helpful and friendly and breakfast which was included in our stay was "top notch" with a huge variey of dishes that catered for everyone.
My wife and i had a really enjoyable stay at the city west.Rooms were huge and extremely comfortable. Will be returning.
Rooms and facilities were fantastic, as was breakfast. Overall not one negative to report on the whole weekend. Thank you.
the room was excellent well maintained through out the week .it was situated in a quiet place and a short distance from all areas of the hotel.the staff were very friendly and helpfull and the food and service were excellent.i would give it ten out of ten.i really enjoyed my stay and i would go back again.
My wife and I had a very plesent stay at citi-west hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend this hotel to any one. The golf was fantastic and the food & service in the restaurant was excellent. We will be staying thre again.
AS USUAL THE STANDARD AND SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. I THOUGHT THE ATMOSPHERE THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND 'DARTS GRAND PRIX' WAS BRILLIANT.
We had a four night stay at this hotel in the main building, having previosly stayed in the golf hotel annex. While both are extremely comfortable, the rooms in the main building that we stayed in this time were exceptional. Having just been renovated, they are luxuriously furnished throughout and even had wirlpool baths and seperate rain shower. Staff were extremely friendly, especially considering how busy the hotel was this weekend with the World Grand Prix darts tournament being held there. The casino was a great addition from last year and as ususal the golf is amazing. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation for any kind of stay. Superb!!!!!
top class hotel, well run and first class staff
I could not fault the room and the hotel in general but the only disappointment was the lack of food choice available to us! We were down during the darts event and all we could get from the room service was old prepared sandwiches at 40 euro for 4 people!
i stayed with my brother in law in your complex on thursday 8 th oct , to watch the Sky Bet Dart GrandPrix and i have to say i was fully satisified with both, The only down point was the price of the pint @ 5 euro was steep n the price of a sandwitch sent to the room was also a bit expencive, but overall a great stay --friendly staff -- great breakfast-- a great hotel --- we will be back next year for two nights stay for the darts and will be recommending it to plenty... thanks.
A good and traditional hotel. Good location and good views. Breakfasts are fantastic!
We absolutely love this hotel. Been there at least 5 times this year, usually just for a Saturday out not having to worry about getting a taxi home. This time we checked out the casino, which is cool (even better when you come out with more than you went in with!!). Keep intending to make it to the leisure centre but never quite manage to get there. Heading out again very shortly.
We stayed in the Golf Hotel in the Citywest complex. The rooms were very clean, modern and spacious. Breakfast was good and the Restauant in the hotel was nice too. Room rates were very reasonable, so overall we were very pleased with our stay. We definately would consider returning.
We stayed at the Citiwest for the Sky darts competition so we expected the hotel to be very noisy which it was. However the rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. The staff there are very efficicent and on hand at all times to help. I would definetly return to the Citiwest to stay.
We have absolutely no complaints about our stay at the Citywest. The Rooms were beautiful, beds were extremely comfortable. We had plenty to choose from for breakfast which was served until 11am, an added bonus.
YET AGAIN ANOTHER ENJOYABLE STAY IN THE CITYWEST HOTEL. A FEW HICCUPS ALONG THE WAY BUT AS USUAL STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND EVEN UPGRADED US TO A SUPERIOR ROOM FOR OUR INCONVENIENCE!! LOVELY! LOOK FORWARD TO GOING BACK NEXT YEAR. BEAUTIFUL FOOD AT THE CARVERY BIG FEED AT AFFORDABLE PRICES AND BREAKFAST WAS LOVELY TOO WITH PLENTY FOR EVERYONE.
had a brillaint time at the hotel. it is a lovely clean place. couldnt fault the cleaning, or the staff but i did have to wait 30mins to check in as they left the poor receptionist under staffed at the golf hotel, and considering the darts was on, i taught they would be well prepared, there was also people out side our door during the night fighting for a long time, but could not fault the hotel in this as they where very friendly and helpful and they can not help the actions of some drunk people. i would definetly stay there again. we also played golf the next day and the courses where amazing
just back from the citywest hotel dublin.we were a group of 6 going to the sky bet darts which was held in the hotel.staff were very friendly, rooms were beautiful and with a great price from roomex.com it made it all the more special ,will be going back next year for sure!
We stayed for one night to watch the darts. Room, food, staff and facilities were excellent. Couldn't fault them. Will definitely be back next year with a view to staying for the weekend this time! Many Thanks to all at City West!
We visited the hotel for the Sky Poker World Darts Grand Prix. I found check in at reception very quick and courteous, providing directions to the room as well as providing breakfast details. The room was very comfortable and clean, and breakfast was good. We had a meal in the bistro which seemed as if it was using frozen chips, which was disappointing. In my previus stay at the hotel there used to be an area sectioned off from the bar at the front of the hotel, which was ideal for relaxing with children, however this is now included as part of the bar area which means that children cannot be anywhere apart from their rooms after 9pm which is restrictive for parents. All in all, a good value for money hotel, if just a little non-child friendly.
I thought this was the best hotel i have stayed in for a long time and the price was very reasonable. The staff were friendly and the rooms were tidy clean with some lovely furniture.
Wasn't overly impressed. Was given a key card that didn't work and the room was ages away from reception so meant trekking back down to get a new key. No room service at weekends, no ashtray in a smoking room (irritating little things). The room itself was lovely but it's the annoying little things that make the experience below average.
We spent one night in the City West hotel, which we enjoyed thoroughly. The experience was faultless. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped and the bathroom was the best I have ever had in a hotel visit. We had a meal in the bistro which required no prior booking although they were quite busy. The food was lovely as were the staff. The bar was busier than we expected with local people but in the end this just added to the buzzing atmosphere of a Saturday night out. Breakfast the next morning was great, in a lovely bright room at very accomodating times up to 11am. I am dying to go back again and hope to treat my partner to another night there for his birthday next year.
we stayed in citywest dublin for darts competition i found the food very good room very good and staff very helpful and friendly i would certainly stay again and would advise friends and family to choose roomex we were made to feel very much at home thank you
Bedding covers should be white, coloured bed spreads are very unappealing to view when one enters a room as one does not know if they have been freshly washed or not. Should be lounging facilities for parents and children after 9pm as no one wants to remain in a hotel room with older children from 9pm on.
great stay room lovey staff very helpful breakfast the best we have ever had.will be back again
We arrived late staff friendly and helpfull, very big hotel, we were a family of five including our ten month old little boy. The rooms were fantistic (they had been upgraded) the cot supplied was very basic, baby had to have extra pillows. Breakfast exellent food very good but expensive.
very enjoyable stay very impressed with room and breakfast very nice
I was a little disappointed with the room this time since all previous stays, including one as a tourist with my wife, were excellent. In spite of requesting a non-smoking room (which I guess it was since there were no ash trays), the room smelt strongly of stale cigarette smoke, not pleasant for a non-smoker. I assume therefore that this room had recently been used as a 'smoking' room. Two other issues (and I am one of those people who almost never complains!) Power points - Tea & Coffee making facilities were provided but there was nowhere sensible to plug in the kettle! Once I filled the kettle I had to crawl about on all fours, unplug the standard lamp, and plug the kettle into the one and only 13Amp socket accessible. Making coffee on the floor or carrying a recently boiled kettle around could have health & safety implications in my humble opinion. I then wanted to hook up to the free (thank you) broadband connection on the desk /writing table and once again noted that there was no power socket to keep my computer topped up while I was working so i had to rely on the battery. Then there was the toilet.....this is located so close to an extremely hot radiator (no apparent way to turn it down)that, how shall I put it, one needs to sit on it slightly askew? so you don't burn your knee! and....there was no toilet roll holder - only rolls on the cistern behind you etc etc etc. Apart from that, it's a great hotel and i will keep using it (if they will let me after this) - lovely people, great location, good food and of course the Guinness!
always excellent at citywest
I stayed for four nights, the rooms were in excellent condition every night, there was a great selection of food for breakfast. The food in the restaurant at night was very good, the staff in the bar and the hotel were very friendly. This is my third time staying in this hotel in the last couple of months, and look forward to staying again in the next week or so.
It fulfilled my needs for an overnight stay and good breakfast to set off for the day ahead.I will be back.
Thank you very much for a brilliant night in the City West. We were there on the night of the All Ireland Final. The service from staff was excellent. We had 4 rooms in total and the rooms were ideally situated for peace and tranquility when we wanted it. The rooms themselves were beautiful as was the breakfast next morning. Looking forward to going back and spending longer and maybe treat my husband to a round of golf.
The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room and bathroom were surprisingly spacious. Everything was spotless. I was quite surprised with the standard as this is such a big hotel. I did not have breakfast as I had to leave very early so I cannot comment on this. I would definitely use this hotel again.
We had a spectacular stay in CityWest - the experience of a lifetime! Thank you for making this such a memorable occasion and facilitating this opportunity to revel in our success (Tyrone's that is!!) and meet up with many old friends - including 'Sam' - we will savour the memories for years to come. We will return and we will recommend CityWest to all our friends next time! Many thanks!
We spent the weekend over the All Ireland football final while the bedrooms were fine, we felt that the hotel wasn't prepared for the number of guests staying queuing for approx. an hour for breakfast both mornings and then no hot water on the last morning.
Great hotel complex. Food very good (bistro) and lots to do. Two golf courses in top condition and large well equiped leisure centre.
Very efficient and professional "way about life" experienced when i stayed at City West, I found directions to "floor, room nos" well presented and easy to locate room, reception area, simple and effective signage, well done. Room was large, quiet, clean and good value, many thanks. Breakfast served early and good variety. I endjoyed my stay, once again, and will continue to be a customer, keep me happy. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to comment, positive or negative, all positive for me on this occassion.
i really enjoyed my stay next time i am leaving the kids at home so i can appricate the beautiful surroundings i was there for my brother wedding i know the bride got very good feed back
to be in a hotel during all ireland football final sunday and have staff that make you most welcome was a pleasure from check in to departure having stayed there in the easter break it was great just to notice how with so many poeple in attendance at the hotel that the staff where able to raise the bar was unreal we did enjoy the party and had a great breakfast to help us on the way back home. the room was spacious clean and tidy comfortable for our stay and will return service in hotel was first class on such a busy week end.
I stayed in the City west hotel on Sunday 21st September 2008. Our stay in the hotel, was the icing on the cake to a fabulous day, after Tyrone won the All Ireland final. The room was excellent, and so was the breakfast. But most of all the staff and the organisation throughout the night of celebrations, and it was a long night, was excellent! This hotel facilitated everyone, whether a resident or not, in a very professional manner. I have never been anywhere that was able to deal with a crowd so efficiently, and ensure that everyone had a brilliant time. Well done to the management & staff.
WE had a lovely stay at the city west hotel. very impressed with the way the hotel had been decorated for the all ireland weekend and the staff took part in wearing of our tyrone colours!!.The atmosphere was great, the craic was mitey and the food in the hotel was fantastic. i would certainly recommend the Bistro and the chicken curry, yum! ill be booking for next all ireland as we will be back to defend our title and we mite even get down for a wee weekend before that.
i loved the atmosphere in city west, the rooms were excellent and the staff were fantastic even though it was all ireland weekend. I will be back soon and thanks for a lovely stay
I have stayed many times in de City West. The average service is always good, though the rooms can differ. This time, I was lucky as I got a very spacey room with luxury equipped bathroom. Nice: Fresh fruit, water and handmade chocolates on the table as a welcome. As always, breakfast was perfect, even with a full house all personel has an eye for service and a personal touch.
All was very pleasant at City West. Bar prices are quite expensive, food very reasonable and excellent quality. Beatiful Superior Room for rate given on Roomex. Overall good value for money
Attended wedding reception at the hotel..Meal Service , bar service , excellent. Nice balcony ( smoking area ) with view of 18th green on golf course . Room price at euro 88 was very good. Room we were allocated was not in the main hotel building , it was approx. 100m away in a different building . This was very dissapointing as we were separated from the majority of the wedding party who were allocated rooms in the main hotel , and partially defeated the purpose of staying overnight as we had to have our breakfast in our building & it was also too far from the main hotel to use for a quick rest after our meal. The hotel carpark was also around the side of the main hotel , it was quite full & we had a bit of a walk back to reception after we found an empty space.
Great atmosphere and great attention. Hotel clean and beautiful. Staff in dining room very good but should smile a little more!
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we new that we had made the right choice, the staff were pleasant, helpful but always kept a discrete distance. The room and the bathroom facilities were excellent and exceeded our expectations, it was five star accommodation. We are looking forward to our next visit.
With an hotel of this size, one could be expecting to receive service at reception slightly less than five star. With the "Citywest" this was not the case. Welcoming and efficient, My wife and I and my daughter were allocated our rooms with skill and precision. Vouchers were issued for breakfast and a message passed to me that my family were all waiting in the bar (Not unusual in Dublin !) On entering the rooms, my daughter was making plans to put Ryanair into receivership so she could stay for a longer time. Clean, warm and inviting, the rooms were excellent value for money, an exception in this period of financial depression. Drinks were fairly priced and the entertainment rooms were friendly and lively. With 1,400 guests, there was negative part of the stay. Because of the age of our senior guests, we had asked for an early dinner. Unfortunately we had to wait in excess of an hour before this was served. A guest who was smoking in his room caused the fire alarm to go off at 3 am but you can't blame the hotel for this. Breakfast was excellent and varied. My wife and daughter, who are both vegetarian, complimented on the quality and presentation of their meal. All in All, really good value for money
hotel is very good to stay in you have the comforts of relaxation as well as a nice bar to sit down and relax with a few socialble drinks with you partner or friends
I was at a business seminar at Citiwest campus and booked your hotel on line. I was very impressed with the hotel and staff. I was greeted at the door by a staff member who directed me through a very busy lobby to the checkin desk. There I was made fell very welcome and asked if I had any special requirments or wanted to book a table for dinner. The room was spotless when I entered and it was much more than I expected. The grounds of the hotel were wonderful and I went for a walk as I had been in conference all day and needed some 'fresh air'. I had prior dinner arrangments but returned to the residents bar for a few pints before calling it a night. The staff there were very friendly and professional despite the large crowd that trying to get drink. (I suspect many of them were not residents!) The service for me was very good - but hey! €4.90 for a pint! Ouch! I am planning to return in December with the wife for a weekend away. Great Hotel...Great Staff!
Delightful hotel, beautiful room, staff very friendly, we enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to going back.
I thoughly enjoyed my stay and will be back again for sure.
We really enjoyed our stay in Citywest. We were up for the camogie all ireland final and as it happened the People of the Year Awards were on in the city on our first night we stayed so we got to see some of the famous people who were attending in awards, which made our stay exra special. The room was lovely, a fabulous queen size bed and flat screen TV. The room was fully cleaned each day of our stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. the gounds are fabulous and the golf course are fabulous.
The stay in the City west was excellent. Enjoyed it immensely. Food good, excellent facilities, very good value for money and really I have nothing negative to say whatsoever.
The room was fantastic and breakfast good. We used the pool and it was great to enjoy the leisure facilities. The only downside was we had a very long walk between the car park and the room which was a long way from reception - it was a struggle when taking the luggage to and from the car especially as the weather was bad. Other than the long walk we really enjoyed staying at the hotel.
We were very happy with our stay in the hotel. The standard of the room was very good and very clean. The service in the Restaurant and the bar was also very good especially as it was All Ireland Hurling weekend and the hotel very busy. I would certainly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying ther again in the future.
The tree lined avenue, the stunning views over the Dublin mountains, not to mention the four helicopters, we felt we were arriving somewhere special. We were not disappointed. Well decorated, elegant and comfortable throughout, helpful staff, pleasant walks and a great leisure centre with exercise classes at no extra cost. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice no burnt rashers or soggy toast.
Very pleased with our stay. Hotel staff were among the best we have experienced recently, very friendly, helpful and courteous. Room was excellent and food was great, reasonably priced and very enjoyable. Would not hesitate to stay again.
we had a great time in the city west superb hotel lovely food lovely room.we will be back
Location amazing , beautiful hotel with acres of gardens and ample free parking . Staff some of the best I have come across, very friendly and helpful with every need from directions to ordering of taxi .Breakfast very good ...great selection from full Irish , or simply cereal and juice ....seconds no problem.Had a beautiful dinners with excellent service even with 1300 sitting for dinner. Sunday lunch offered a wide selection and half portions were available for those who required.Rooms very clean and provided tea and coffee facilities along with internet access , iron and hairdryer.Towels and tea and coffee were refreshed each day. Over all , fabulous hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at City West. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable, it was everything i expected it to be! I would return to city west again. We were there to celebrate the cats winning 3 in a row!!
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The only problem was that I booked for two nights separately and had to change rooom after the first night. On checking in they told me this would not happen. It wasn't a major ordeal but shouldn't have happened. I was also glad to be staying in the main building as some of my family had to go out and walk to thier rooms in a different building. Food was excellent and they were very capable of looking after such a big crowd as it was the All Ireland Hurling Final week-end. It is also situated very near the dual-way carriageway and had no problem going home on the monday. I would definately recommend this hotel and will definately be back.
Stayed Saturday night before the All-Ireland Hurling Final, found reception staff to be friendly, efficient and humorus in helping us find our 3rd floor room. Colonial style bedroom furniture mixed with modern flat screen TV and well fitted bathroom, not expected in a modern, newly built hotel, but made the room feel very luxurious. We made full use of the bar facilites, assisted by the very professional and pleasent bar staff, and the mixed platter bar food highly recommended, when the men thought of their belly's after the few pints!! The atmosphere was excellent as would be expected on the eve of an All Ireland and the staff at Citywest should be complimented with the way they contributed to this and performed their duties to perfection in what must be one of the busiest nights of the year. Excellent stay - will return, with hopefully a better result in the All Ireland final next year!!!
VERY HAPPY WITH ROOM AND SERVICE AT THE CITY WEST AND WILL STAY AGAIN
Citywest is a lovely hotel, spacious rooms and very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and very filling. Excellent value for money and would stay again.
We realy enjoyed our stay, everything was perfect ,room just right ,hotel is very central and ideal for matchs in Croke Park. will be staying again .food also excellent.
Very comfortable stay as always
I RECENTLY BOOKED A WEEKEND BREAK AT THE CITY WEST HOTEL SAGGART CO DUBLIN,AS THEY HAD A SPECIAL OFFER ON AT THE TIME OF BOOKING I THOUGHT IT COULD NOT BE BEATEN BUT THAT I WOULD TRY ROOMEX ON THE OFF CHANCE.I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN THEIR OFFER WAS BEATEN BY ABOUT 20EURO PER NIGHT.THE HOTEL IS PURE LUXURY FROM DRIVING UP THE TREE LINED ENTRANCE,TO ENTERING THE BUSTLING RECEPTION,TO THE LUXURIOUS SPACIOUS ROOM WITH JACUZZI BATH,PLASMA TV,AND A VIEW OVER A SMALL LAKE,FOUNTAIN,AND PART OF THE GOLF COURSE.THE FOOD WAS BEAUTIFUL,AND A BREAKFAST TO DIE FOR,[IF YOUR FIT FOR IT AFTER AVAILING OF A FEW BEVERAGES MUSIC AND CRAIC IN ONE OF THE BARS]WITH TWO HELICOPTERS ON SITE YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT BUMP INTO,A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.
the hotel is just beautiful. staff very friendly and helpful, food lovely overall had a great time
We really enjoyed our stay at the City West. We have stayed there on several occasions and the service is always excellent. The hotel was very busy due to the matches in Croke Park and a couple of weddings taking place, however attention to detail was at its usual high standard You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a good hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. One small down side - there was no laundry bag in the room.
Bedroom - excellent - King Size Bed - good. Buffet Meal very good - Steak Cooked exactly as requested - Fish nice. Breakfast - very good. Price of drink pretty steep but expected that. Will stay again
I took my daughter to stay in your hotel for a treat before returning to school & I can say we both enjoyed every minute of it,my daughter enjoyed getting to colour in the menu almost as much as she enjoyed the food,I cannot praise the staff highly enough,I would deffinately recommend city west hotel to all my friends & relations,& hope to spend another few days there again.
Could not fault, had a very good stay at the hotel
I had the pleasure of staying at Citywest for two nights while on business in the Dublin area. All the facilities are of a high standard and worked. The staff I found helpful and friendly and nothing appeared to be a trouble. My room was very well appointed and I had an excellent meal one evening in one of the restaurants. The setting for the hotel is amazing surrounded by golf courses and lakes. I am happy to recommend it to anyone.
Spot on, room very comfortable and breakfast was leisurly. Will be back again
we really enjoyed our stay .breakfast excellent. staff very helpful, great service and great leisure centre could not ask for more.
Myself my wife and two kids (aged 5 and 6 months )stayed at City West for three nights. The room was of good decor and facilities but lacked a fridge of any form. giving us a room so far from reception was a bit of a dose and the fact that there was steps to go up and down with the buggy. We were also given a smoking room when I had asked for a non smoking room...we changed rooms but moving with two kids and bags twice isn't easy. The breakfast was nice and the staff were equally as nice, the one meal we had at the Hotel was also lovely. The use of the swimming pool is limited to between 9am and 6.30pm for kids and this was policed. it would have been nice to be able to go for an evening swim with my daughter. There was also no family dressing room. There was also no area for kids to use in the hotel after 9pm. On holiday this seems early to have to retire to our room. Overall.. Nice hotel ...could do more for Families with a bit of thought.
Hello, We arrived on saturday night and the receptionist checking us in asked if it was our first stay there and when we said yes, she said that we were very welcome and that she hoped everything would be right for us and if not then just to call her immediately, which we didnt have to do as everything was perfect for us from the room to the huge breakfast the next morning and the price was excellent too... Many thanks and we will be back as the location is spot on for us...
The family room with a double, a single and a additional portable bed was very spacious and comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 14. The breakfast was excellent with choices that suited everyone. Due to time constraints we availed of the carvery and were very happy with it. I would certainly stay again and hopefully make use of the leisure facilities.
lovely room, despite asking for a smoking room still had to go back to reception for an ashtray, further no complaints, very thoughtfull and helpfull staff, the only other thing i would like to see is private changing rooms in the swimmingpool area.
This hotel was lovely to stay in, surroundings are beautiful and the staff are really friendly. We stayed here to go to a concert in Marlay Park, we got a taxi to and from the concert venue - the hotel's own taxi charged us 29Euro to Marlay Park and we got a different taxi back to the hotel which charged us 23Euro. The only downfall is that it's a bit out of the City Centre - there is a bus that goes to Citywest - it's the number 69 and it leaved from Aston Quay, it only costs 2Euro each, although it takes a long time going from the hotel back into the city centre due to all the stops on the way.
My partner and I recently stayed in Citywest for one night for a wedding and we had nothing but good things to say about the hotel. The rooms were fantastic - comfortable, cosy and spacious, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying here, whether it's for one night or one week.
I stayed in Citywest on Saturday night, and we were given a room on the fifth floor, which was very dark, the only window was a very small attic window. The corridor was extermely noisy until about 4am in the morning. We arrived at the breakfast room for breakfast at about 9.45am and there was a que of about 60 people in front of us, we waited for about 15 minutes until they opened a second breakfast room. Despite not being happy with the Breakfast and Bedroom we were given, the hotel is very nice, the staff at reception were very efficient, but they lacked the charm of smaller hotels. The Grounds around the hotel are amazing as is the lesuire centre. I would stay in Citywest Hotel again and i would definetly book it through Roomex as it is much cheaper than anywhere else, but i would ask for a room not on the Fifth Floor....
found my stay in Citywest very enjoyable, everyone was helpful and friendly
Had a lovely three night stay at City West Hotel, Dublin. Service and staff attention superb, food and leisure facilities great. Will definately re-visit soon. Regards.
Stayed here over night for a wedding. The wedding itself was fabulous, the service was second to none, the food was gorgeous and the room was decorated beautifully. The bedroom was of the highest standard and spotlessly clean. The bed was massive, really comfortable with big fluffy pillows! I had one of the best nights sleep ever! I would definitely recommend this hotel for a either a wedding or simply for a nice weekend getaway and at the price we paid for one nights B&B it was a steal at just under €78! I will be back!
Very good price, good breakfast, good room.
Excellent Hotel with excellent facilities and golf course.
Excellent service, very good quality in every way, lovely setting. We really enjoyed our stay.
I was happy with the service both at reception and in the restaurant. The staff were very helpfull and polite, the only fault i would have(not a staff problem) was that the children had to be out of the bar at 10.pm. We were up for a match at croke park(up Waterford!)and had our sons with us, ages 9 and 16 and would have liked to have a bar or reception area where we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pre match chat and crack......However i will stay at citywest again as i had a very plesent stay...
We were very impressed with this hotel from start to finish. The rooms were in excellent order and very clean. The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast,in spite of the large attendance, had an excellent selection, all very tasty with very good service. Our only problem was we didn't have enough time to sample all the facilities. For the price we paid it is the best value hotel around Dublin, certainly the best we stayed in so far this year - we will be back.
Really enjoyed out stay at Citywest. We ate at the Lemongrass restaurant and the food was fantastic!! Walked 2 minutes back to the Hotel were a band was playing in the bar until the early hours!! Can't wait to return.
We stayed last weekend before attending the Waterford match in Croke Park. Great atmosphere in the bar Saturday night. Room was perfect beautiful hotel will definetly come back. I have also recommended Roomex to friends for the great value rates.
I GOT THE BEST AVAILABLE RATE ON THE INTERNET FROM ROOMEX FOR MY PARENTS WHO STAYED IN CITYWEST LAST SATURDAY. MY FATHER WAS RECOVERING FROM AN ACCIDENT AND THE OVERNIGHT STAY IN THE CITYWEST CHEERED HIM UP NO END. THE HOTEL WAS TOP CLASS. MY PARENTS WERE GOING TO A MATCH IN CROKE PARK ON THE SUNDAY AND FOUND CITY WEST EXTREMLY CONVIENENT FOR THE LUAS WHICH THEY TOOK FROM THE RED COW INTO THE CITY. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTING THING ABOUT THE HOTEL WAS THE CARVERY DINNER ON THE SATURDAY NIGHT WHICH MY PARENT FELT WAS VERY SUB STANDARD. HOWEVER THEY THOUGHT THE BREAKFAST WAS THE NICEST THEY HAVE HAD IN ANY HOTEL IN A LONG TIME. ALL IN ALL THEY HAD A GREAT TIME AT A VERY COMPETITIVE RATE
We were very pleased with our stay in this hotel. We were there for the matches in Croke park. The bus put on by the hotel to the match was excellent service. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent. The room was very clean and well serviced. There was one fault, there was no main light in the bedroom and as the window was so small this made the room very dark. Other than that one fault I will be going back!
My partner and I have just returned from a 2 night stay in the Citywest Hotel and overall we found the hotel to be quite satisfactory. The rooms and the hotel layout were of the highest quality. The only faults we had were with the restaurant. On the first night of our stay we attempted to book a meal in the Hibernian Bistro and were told by staff that there was no need, to just come down when we were ready. On returning to the restaurant later, we had to queue over an hour for a table and I waited another hour before I was told, what I ordered wasn't available. While the staff were very apologetic and made concessions, it unquestionably left a bad impression. Not surprisingly we dined elsewhere on our 2nd night. Other than that, our stay was very enjoyable and we would stay there again.
We stayed on a Saturday night as we were heading into Dublin for a match on Sunday. Our room was very comfortable and quiet even though the hotel was very busy. Downstairs, there were huge crowds with children running around but that did not affect us, other than we decided not to have a drink in the bar as it was very busy. The staff were under pressure with guests checking in late into the evening. Sunday morning was an example of excellent planning - several function rooms were laid out for breakfast. A manager told us they had 2,500 people due to have breakfast that morning. It was very well managed with plenty of hot buffet food available for everyone and staff available with tea and coffee when required. A very pleasant stay and we will return - hopefully when the weather is nicer and we can take advantage of the grounds.
having had quite a number of short stays in various hotels throughout ireland over the last few years, i can honestly state that the citiwest hotel has been the best hotel that i have stayed in and is fully deserving of its four star rating, in fact if it was my decision, i would award it five stars
my wife and i enjoyed our stay very relaxing and comfortable all your staff were extremely helpful only complaint teletext not working on tv
The Hotel room was top class and the breakfast was superb. Our room was in the weston wing of the hotel. It had a door leading to the next room which was probably to facilitate as a family room. At 11.00 pm we retired to bed. At this time there was quite a lot of noise coming from next door which was very loud due to the fact that the room had a divideing door. We didn't take much notice as we read for a while . As time went on the noise remained the same and i complained to reception that we could not sleep. They said they would send security up to check it out. After 15 minutes the noise remained the same and i complained again. The receptionist again said he would send up security to the room. This time i met the security outside my room and told him of the issue. He tried to gain access to the room but failed. He left saying he would be back to sort it out. An half an hour passed and i rang reception for the third time and complained very strongly that we could not sleep and we wanted to be moved to another room,it was now 1.50am. This receptionist who seemed to be a manager said it was the first he heard of the complaint and he would sort it out straight away, and he did. I didn't complain in the morning when handing in our keys because all other aspects of the hotel were great .I'm sure they have the complaints i made on there night porter role. We have stayed in the city west before and never had any issues, this was a once off and we will be back again.
Enjoyed our stay, room very satisfactory, all rthe comforts you would expect from a 4-star hotel, queue or breakfast wss long enough but got through it fairly sharp.
I have stayed at Citywest many times for business and have always found it quite good, so we decided to stay there the night before some Cork matches at Croke Park. It was the busiest I had ever seen it, we were told that 220 people had made bookings only that morning! In spite of this, reception handled the checkins very well and we didn't have to queue for very long. I got a room in part of the newer part of the hotel and I have to say the rooms have greatly improved. It was really well decorated and very comfortable. It was surprisingly quiet too, being that the hotel was so full. The only thing was the remote control for the tv was bit annoying but that's just a small thing. The only major thing that tainted our stay was our need for food. Because it was so busy, it took 1.5 hours to come and when it did come it was stone cold and served by a very grumpy waiter. For a hotel with 1700+ rooms, you would expect them to be able to cope better with room service. Breakfast was well organised, with the hotel opening up the ballroom for the overflow of extra people. When I checked out, I didn't seem to get charged for the room service, so maybe they realised how bad it had been. Also worth mentioning that on the day of the match, they laid on some buses to Croke park. i will defintiely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Good facilities. 2 beautiful golf courses and lovely leisure centre. Very good breakfast lots of fresh fruit provided. Room clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
Very enjoyable stay, room clean and nice food.
Both my family and I very much enjoyed our stay at your Hotel.Check in was prompt and courteous, the room was very comfortable and most important was in a quiet location allowing us all a good nights sleep. We very much enjoyed a superb breakfast the next morning followed by a pleasant walk around the beautifully located countryside. This was followed by a refreshing dip in the excellent pool and after a sauna we checked out feeling renewed and ready for our journey. All in all a very pleasant experience and we will certainly come back.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay at the City West Hotel. We were there for a wedding and stayed two nights. The room was first class with all the amenities expected including a large double bed with facing flat screen TV! We will certainly look to stay there again on our next visit to Dublin.
AS always a very pleasant stay. Room was excellent but Broadband DSL in room did not work for the duration of my stay despite several chases. Restaurant could do with a bit for variety for Seasonal specials and more Bar food.
we had a lovely stay as usual. one thing the prices at the bar were way to high 3 euro for a coke and so on otherwise perfect will be back
everything was brilliant. great craic and music in the bar sat night. met people from all over Ireland. first time staying in hotel and thought it was beautiful. Breakfast was also of top quality. Drinks at bar probably too dear really but you realised then where they were getting back their money for the cheap accomidation. Will definately be returning.
Most enjoyable six night stay at Citiwest. Could not fault anything, especially the price, thanks to Roomex. Staff courteous, friendly and efficient. Bedroom ticked all the boxes and the food supplied to the large group of us attending the Chopra event was excellent. Have recommended Roomex and Citiwest to all my friends.
My aunt, mother and myself recently stayed here. we were absolutely delighted with the hotel. The room was lovely. The view wasnt, but perhaps that was because it was a smoking room. The food was great. The only other thing was it was a bit away from everything. But i guess to get a hotel like this with great surroundings and relaxing atmosphere it has to be a bit out of the city. I will definitly be going back again.
we really enjoyed our stay with city west, the service was brilliant especially the residence bar!!!!!!!!
City West Hotel was a very enjoyable experience. It is Europe's largest hotel but has a feel like a smaller hotel. Check in was prompt and efficient. By booking with Roomex and with the voucher system, no credit card details needs to be supplied. I found this very helpful as some personnel travelling had no Credit Card and found check-in more difficult. This system also makes it easier to control spending as accomodation and breakfast was prepaid which controls any additional expenditure. Well worth booking with Roomex!!!!!!!
Had a lovely stay in the city west hotel. Was at a wedding and the service was superb and staff where also superb. Would go back to this hotel
Our stay at Citywest Hotel was satisfactory - The staff were friendly and helpful. My only criticisim was the time it took to reach rooms from Reception/bars. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable but the view was awful - overlooking a flat roof. The price of drinks in the bar was very expensive compared to bars in my area of Dublin. The bar food was both good and reasonably priced.
it was fantastic value and because they were not completely booked they gave us an upgrade at no extra cost, thee most cmfortable hotel bed ever. looking forward to going back, staying and playing a round of golf. absolutely no hesitation in reccommending this hotel.
clean rooms, stayed for a wedding, hotel staff very efficient and professional, would stay again no problem
Stayed for 3 nights with my 6 year old son he thoroughly enjoyed it and has already asked if we can stay in the same hotel again. rooms were lovely and very spacious. The breakfast selection was amazing and so varied it was hard to decide what to eat.The only complaint i would have would be with house keeping I had to contact Reception on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed to get basic items delivered to our room e.g. no soap or shower gel, no milk for making coffee. no toilet roll. they had removed the half used roll and not bothered to replace it. Face coths removed and not replaced. This would be my only complaint about a wonderful hotel. we ate in the restaurant which i found very child friendly the waitress was lovely to my son.we also used the pool which was also an enjoyable experience. overall it was a stay in our capital city that I enjoyed and look forward to a return visit.
Stay was fine. Room clean and good and food good. Only irksome matter was that my phone was not connected in the room. I had to ring 3 times about this and was left holding for periods. I was told that this lack of phone connection was due to the fact that the Hotel (as opposed to Roomex) did not have my credit card no.. I gave this number and details twice but was not connected despite assurances that it would only take "2 minutes" twice. I gave up. There seemed to be language difficulty with staff.
Very pleasant stay. Menu a bit limited but hotel OK. I was unlucky this week and was sited above the aircon units (pretty noisy all through the night!). Lovely room. Will stay again
we have stayed in citywest on many occasions, this stay however was not as satisfactory or as pleasent as before, the room we recieved had been cleaned but not very well, on going to bed we found a false nail in the bed whitch I did bring to the attention of a manager on my checking out, she did say she would have a word with housekeeping.we probably will stay in citywest again, but we will double check room before we accept it.
Our stay was alright but not as I had expected. My 8 year old daughter was not catered for with any activities and was not allowed pool access after 5 pm in the evening. We had no lounge area where we could sit after 7.30 pm when again she was not allowed in the pub area. Our rooms were nice but overlooked the kitchen and so we were disturbed in the early morning with the outside noise. A female reception staff member was very unhelpful on our arrival whereupon she gave us one room instead of the two rooms as requested. This same member of staff would not help us with a query re horse riding facilities but instead said she would give us Directory Enquiry number. It was a poor stay in a 4* hotel and not something I would envisage doing again.
Another great stay at the Ciywest... One thing I'd love to see them do is sort out their TV units!! The TV in my room was great, until it started flipping channels on it's own. I realized that the remote control might have a loose connection, but anytime I used it to change the channel, it would flip anywhere between 5 and 10 channels at a time!
We enjoyed our stay. It was excellent. Thank you.
It was my first time staying at the City West Hotel and it was a really enjoyable experience. The Hotel and the grounds were beautiful and it was excellent value. We had dinner the night we stayed and it was superb. We were up from Waterford for a days shopping in Dundrum and it was an ideal place to stay. The staff were top class and I would highly recommend the hotel.
We stayed for one night, it was a lovely room very clean and very big and great value. The breakfast was very good, could get a variety of breakfast. The Leisure was lovely aswell. Staff were very nice. All in all enjoyed the experience and defiantly stay there again.
Beautiful setting. Large newly constructed rooms with air con, friendly and helpful staff, well organised and food was good. Recommended!
Stayed at City West Hotel Dublin from 6th July to 13th July 2008. Was impressed with the spaciousness of the bedrooms and the friendly & helpful staff. There were 520 people doing the course I was doing there and we were allocated 3 to 4 different dining rooms which gave a feeling of there being more than enough space for everyone. The Breakfasts were varied and sustaining and the dessert menu needs a special mention-it was varied and delicious. Of course the surroundings, being so green and well maintained adds to the general ambience as do the Spa facilities which were enjoyed by many. The only problem I have is with the location and the lack of infrastructure-its quite a distance from the City Centre and from the Luas. Taxis work out rather expensively and the bus service to the City Centre is inadequate. That said, I look forward to spending time there again at some future date.
Great room , very very comfortable bed!!! Staff very friendly and helpfull... Room was very far away we had to get certain lifts and do a good bit of walking but apart from that we enjoyed our stay. Zoo hairdressers located in the hotel was also very relaxing and staff were very friendly indeed.
Very nice hotel, had a good time there. Would recommend it & would go back again!
I stayed at the City West for 4 nights attendind a conference with 500 participants. Over 38 countries were represented at this event. The efficient friendly staff, the comfort and cleanliness and fantastic food, made our stay exceptional. Everyone I met agreed it was wonderful. Congratulations to all the team at the City West.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Many thanks
The overall experience of this stay was satisfactory. I have stayed multiple times in the City West and learned that the type and state of the rooms vary. During my last visit I was unlucky to have the older (?)type of room. Apperently the shower was not used for a long time. The first water drops gave a very, very strong smell of rotten egs.. Overall, the service at the reception desk is average. A bit more smile and friendly tone could not harm. The restaurant, however was the opposite with a perfect service. After my late arrival, I was told on the reception I could not go for dinner and should ask for a sandwich at the bar. After asking in the restaurant, I was more then welcome for dinner, even just after official closing time. Breakfast food and service is excellent. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for business stay.
My husband and myself stayed overnight as we were attending a seminar at the hotel. Both the check-in and out process was fast and friendly. We were initially given a room on the first floor which faced the car-park as my husband is an extremely light sleeper I worried about the banging of car doors and the noises associated with car park so I rang up reception and asked if possible to be moved to a different room. Within minutes the concierge was at the door with another room key to the third floor. As this hotel is spacious I found it a long walk to the room from the elevator and the stairs but indeed the room was quiet and extremely comfortable. The roomex rate for this hotel was very good and we were afraid we would not be able to change rooms because of the cheap rate and were very happy this was not the case. Although the hotel was extremely busy we found the staff helpful and friendly and would definately use again especially at roomex prices.
the hotel was very nice, rooms lovely and great grounds.
very nice, clean hotel. staff friendly and helpful. good breakfast
fantastic room.could not praise the hotel or value.the price was a steal.i will be going back guarenteed
rates were excellent value will be booking with roomex again and recommending to friends.
Enjoyed my stay.I was there for one night.I did find the hotel decor some what dated looking.
I have no compliants regarding the hotel room which was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The reception staff were very friendly as were all the staff. My issue was that after a day of driving [sitting stationary]on Dublin's motorway, all I wanted on arrival was a meal and a beer. I ordered my food and drink at the bar at 7.00pm and was told both would be delivered to my table, at 7.30 I asked again even a beer please ?. At 7.40 my beer arrived and at 7.45 my food and another beer arrived [bit like buses]. I know that other guests were experencing the same thing. At 8.15 the bar was almost empty, therefore if something can be done perhaps adding extra staff for the 2hr busy period everyone should be happy.
My husband and myself stayed one night i was sorry we didnt stay two.it is a beautiful hotel and i really enjoyed looking at all the pictures and ornaments as they were beautiful.Rooms were spotless and we were on ground floor in main hotel.Breakfast was the most varied iv seen yet and i have visited many hotels in Ireland.we will certainly be returning and i will be recomending it to my friends.
We really enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to a superior room - no extra cost. Room was excellent clean and spacious, bathroom very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good.
its a very good hotel to stay in rooms are grand and big
On arrival to the room, which was booked for three adults there was only two sets of towels when we phoned reception for extra towels we waited for 20 minutes before i phoned again and then waited another 10 mins. Then while i was showering (last of the three of us) the shower just stopped again we waited 25 mins for a maintenance worker to turn up to fix it, while i sat with shampoo in my hair and my hair soaking wet, Delaying us further for the function we were there to attend. Room was spotless, and spacious but the service part turned me off a bit!
The hotel, the room was all lovely and clean. But it was a sweatbox, I was actually putting my head out the very small window and splashing my face with cold water. Then the next morning I couldn't even open the window becuase of the noise of some kind of a massive fan outside. Dont stay in the west wing!!!
Top Location, excellent staff and will be back
l stayed for one night on a business trip, rooms were nice and hotel service was excellent. The leisure centre was excellent also. My one issue was the breakfast, the service by the staff was good but l just didnt like the way that the restaurant was run, it reminded me of boarding school! That said l would have no problem staying again
Spacious bedroom, good leisure facilities and breskfast menu included a choice of fish. Overall, good value for money.
A large hotel but still with a personal touch. Never had to queue for anything. Everything clean and food excellent value. Check in staff, bar staff and restaurant staff all very helpful, friendly and efficient. Excellent value and will stay again.
The hotel was very nice, Rooms a little old fashioned but still very clean. The breakfast was fabalous. We were travelling to Dublin so the breakfast set us up for the day,
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. I had a great room and I really can't complain at all. Was there for a conference so didn't leave the hotel during my stay, but there's enough bars and restaurants there to keep most people happy! Overall a pretty good experience!
we stayed here 2 months ago at a wedding and we enjoyed it so much we returned to see if we could enjoy it as much the second time. we were not let down one bit,the hotel is spotless, well run,by extremly freindly staff,we would recomend it to anyone.we will be back again
GREAT SATURDAY NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT THE ONE MAN BAND PLAYED SOME EXCELLENT STUFF FOR ALL AGES,BARSTAFF FIRST CLASS SERVICE,ROOM AND BREAKFAST SUPERB AT KNOCKDOWN PRICE OF £34 PER PERSON (WONT GET A BETTER DEAL ANYWHERE ELSE)OVERALL THE STAFF AND THE HOTEL MAKE IT THE PLACE TO GO. N.B. THE YOUNG BARMAN ON SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWED HE'S AN ASSET TO THE HOTEL (GREAT SERVICE). HOPE TO HAVE A GAME OF GOLF ON MY NEXT VISIT
Comfortable room, plumbing a bit rickety, food not great.
I found signs for the hotel on the N81 very confusing but the staff at the hotel were very pleasant. We checked in quickly and were given an bigger family room which was great. The room was a great size and since we were staying 3nights ensured that we wouldnt be living in each others ears, there was plenty of space between beds etc and also room to chill and watch tv. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of choice both in the hot and cold buffet selection. A personal favoutiet of mine is fresh fruit in the morning and so was delighted to find a fresh fruit salad with choice of yougurt as well as selected peices of fresh fruit. My children enjoyed the hot buffet and the choice of pasteries. The hotel leisure centre was brilliant and had sufficient machines so that there was no waiting around to claim your time on one, also the pool was large and the children enjoyed that. If there was a gripe it would be that children had to be out of the pool by 5pm. Very early in my opinion especially if you were doing things throught the day. Also the common areas of the pool were not the cleanest. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
This is a lovely spacious hotel with lovely restaurants and the food was great. We were allocated a beautiful newly decorated room , very spacious for 2 adults and 2 small children...even with a cot in the room we had lots of room. It was very clean throughout and restaurant staff were very friendly and curtious. This hotel at 80e with roomex was great value for money and i would definetly stay there again. My only critisism was that the phone manner of front desk staff is a little abrupt and the communication between reservation and front desk a bit poor but overall i would highly reccommend this hotel.
We recently stayed for a wedding and were very impressed both with the Banqueting room and the bedrooms, would recommend this hotel.
This was a first class experience as we dont get away very often with our 3 year old and only when funds allow. When we first arrive at the door to be opened by the porter to the very easy check in and directions to rooms. The room was magnificent very spacious and very large bed. The bathroom was brilliant with jacuzzi. Very warm and tea making facilities. Two door keys were very welcome. the facilities in the swimming pool were great also. We dined in the bistro restuarant the food presentation was first class as was the service. The prices were very afforable. At no time were we waiting in queue we were attended to all the time. When dinining our little girl was given a menu with join the dots and colouring on the back and she felt very important. Then when we went to relax in the bar, our drinks were delivered to our table so we didnt even have to move. The breakfast the following morning was wow unbelievable the choice and selection. Fantastic. It was a fantastic break and so much enjoyed. We will definately be saving to return to City West for our next break which is a very special anniversary. You are treated like royality the moment you step inside the door. All the staff are so polite, nice and friendly and helpful. Thanks City West for such an enjoyable and memorable break.
We enjoyed our stay in Citywest Hotel - the staff were very efficent and courteous - check in and check out was very quick - even though it is a large hotel and a lot of people were checking in at the same time. The room was very clean and spacious. The leisure centre was great too. We will be back for sure and we will book through roomex.com. Thanks
I REALLY ENJOYED MY STAY ERE. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, ROOM, BARS, FOOD AND HOSPITALITY.
we were very very disapointed in the leisure area. My daughter phoned to see if we could avail of their towels to be told yes they had towels and to come straight over which we did. On entering the pool we overheard that there were no towels to be given out. My daughter and I had come from a day in st james hospital and to wait 3/4 hour for towels was uncalled for, we got cold and had to try and get dry by using the hair dryer. We were late because of this so rather then de-stressing we were even more stressed. The staff in the leisure centre were not a bit helpfull. The hotel we could not fault everything about it was superb.
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were to a very high standard, one of the best 4 stars I've stayed in...There was a touch of elegance with beautiful antique furniture, and wallpaper as well as being modern and spacious, the bathroom was lovely and big and had a jacuzzi. The food in the restaurant was very good, last serving was at 10.30pm which was very handy. I will definetely stay here again.
When we arrived at check-in the lobby was full but the staff dealt with the queue quickly and efficently. We were checked in with the minimum of fuss by the friendly staff. The room was clean, spacious and warm. Only critisicm of the room was the lack of bath-towels and the towels that were provided were hard and course. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful with ample areas for quiet walks. Inside the food was superb and the service in "The Bistro" was unfussy and quick. We had dinner in "The Lemongrass", specialising in Thai food, and it was beautiful. Overall staying in this hotel was an enjoyable experience.
Tremendous value in City West. No other hotel in Dublin compared price wise, especially with breakfast included.Beautiful bedroom, great breakfast, enjoyable drink in the bar at night.Staff were very helpful in organising taxis etc to Neil Diamond concert in Croke Park.My only quibble is the long slow queue in signing in - it's difficult standing there for so long with baggage etc,However, I look forward to returnng there again soon.
We stayed one night here and it was very pleasant. Very clean rooms and also very quiet for a hotel. A good distance from the city centre but that didn't matter as we were the right side of town for heading west the next day.
I have Stayed in City West a few times now, and never had a complaint- it's a fab hotel with lots to do and a choice of 4 restruants( inc bar food) but the room we got this time, the matress was so worn on both sides we kept rolling out of the bed! it ws a litle noisy as we were on the right hand side of the weston wing and I think that's where they keep all of there bins, as a small fork truck must have passed 15-20 times during the evening and again first thing in the morning. Also think it may be a staff entrance- people passing very close to the window. I really have no major Gripe as overall we always enjoy our stay :)
Very happy with our stay there, good service for a very good price. Meal at lemongrass was excellent. Shuttle to Luas was very much appreciated and we were picked up again on return from city centre at 12.30 at night after a concert. Queues for breakfast were long but staff did everything in their power to move them on as quickly as possible. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would recommond.
We had a great time staying here would recommend it to anyone and will certainly be returning soon. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Hibernian restaurant was busy but still very efficient and friendly and the food was beautiful. The rooms were very spacious and clean we stayed in the new section of the hotel and although it was a bit of a walk it was well worth it. overall I could not fault our stay in anyway. Well done
we stayed for a weekend and found the citywest to be extremelly elegant and so reasonable. The rooms were large and very well decorated with beautiful mahogony tables and the bed was huge!!!! Also the bathroom was beautiful with a large shower and also a jacuzzi bath. We will definately be returning sooner ratehr than later.
Very good. Great day, good golf. Bit of a walk to bedroom but its a big hotel! Food in Terrace Restaurant absolutely gorgeous. Man with a guitar in front bar on Sat night, great craic.
Stayed in The Citywest Hotel on the 14th June 08 and had a really enjoyable time. Staff were friendly and hotel was very clean and kept well. We were served drinks all night by a barman called Damien and he is one of the best barmen i have ever met, very attentive and polite, a real gem.
Really enjoyed our stay at citywest fab hotel spotless and staff were lovely . Stayed there for bon jovi concert and bus was provided to and from it
we stayed at this hotel for a wedding and the reception went very well the room was a great size and seated all the wedding guests very comfortably, food was very good. our rooms were on the ground floor and were of a good standard the only thing was that the wheel chair friendly room had the elevator opposite which proved to be a very noisy location for our dad. However the check out time is 11am and this would stop us staying in this hotel again, as in any hotel we stayed at home or aboard the checkout time was at least 12/12.30pm this hotel charges 100euro if guests stay beyond this time....found this unacceptable.
A very welcoming and comfortable hotel with excellent facilities if you had time to avail yourself of them. The Lemongrass restaurant was wonderful and the inclusive breakfast was superb value.
Second time to stay in citywest. Always enjoy the experience, plan to go sometime i have nothing on so i can enjoy the facilites and see the rest of it.
excellent hotel. would stay again. food fabulous and staff at reception very friendly.
Without doubt i'd give the Hotel & Staff 5 stars,no question...very enjoyable stay, would recommend to anyone, look forward to coming back again
Once again, I enjoyed the overall atmosphere at the Citywest this time. The new menu at the resteraunt is more inclusive and offers a greater choice of cuisine.
It was a lovely hotel not as nice in the inside as it is on the outside. room was very warm and when we opened a window there was some kind of fans on the roof top right beside our window so it was to noisy to keep open.other then that the breakfast was lovely and filling and room servies was friendly
the hotel was absolutely beautiful, the rooms were more than i expected i almost wnated to take the bed home it was so comfortable, the breakfast was a feast and kept me going for the day. the staff were so helpful and friendly. my son had made friends with most of the waiters by the end of our stay. i would definately go back for many more weekend breaks and recommend it to anyone. there was nothing i could fault - well only i wish i could have stayed longer.
The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly and the only real fault i had was the queues everywhere for the reception to check in and out, for the breakfast in the morning and there was no where to sit in the bar
We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel was really welcoming and the rooms quite big and spotless clean. i have only one comlaint and that is the walk to the rooms, from the reception area but. overall, a great stay
Could not fault this Hotel in any way.
we really had a wonderful time. we did stay before and hope to go back again later in the year. the staff were fab and my husband really enjoys the golf courses. the amount we paid was really fantastic as it included breakfast. would highly recommend it to all, a 4 star and luxery treatment at easy on the pocket prices. will defineately book again.
Very good quality accomodation and spacious rooms. I stayed in another hotel the following night and was disappointed on the quality and room size in comparison. Also the price was reasonable and they had plenty of facilities. Good food and drink too!
My room was opposite the lift, and overlooked the kitchen delivery area, rubbish bins etc. The hotel was full, so no opportunity to change rooms. My colleagues on the other hand were in re-furbished rooms, with flat screen TV's and better views. Based on my personal experience I would not rush back. On the other hand the staff were friendly, well trained and customer orientated. A satisfactory stay, but I would look at other options in the future.
Hi I stayed in the City West and I would not recommend it as a 3 star........... This is not my first time there and I was very disappointed
Yes enjoyed the City West. Wasn't quite what I expected. Busy, great atmosphere and very lively at night. I had planned a quiet weekend away, this it was not. Live music in bar at weekend. Also locals attend and know the musicians! Rooms were very nice.
I was there at a golf outing and was satisfied with everything.
I stayed in the hotel to attend the annual Tesco Charity Ball. I only booked the room 5 days before the event and was delighted to get the booking anyway at such a great rate €82.50. The staff were friendly and efficient and check out despite the queques was very quick. To top it off I had a gorgeous big room with King Size bed, a lovely view and breakfast was included. The hotel and grounds were beautiful and the room was large and comfortable and fantastic value for money. I will definitely use Roomex again for a fast efficient, reliable service and keep the hotel in mind in the future for that "special break"
one word perfect
Our stay at this hotel was indeed a very pleasant experience. The check in facility was fast and staff friendly and professional. We attended a wedding on a Sat and a number of other functions were going on at the same time. The staff made us feel like we were the only guests. The rooms were also top class, again great facilities and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nice hotel in a beautiful setting but too big for my taste. It was a long walk fro reception to the room and we even got lost once when we took a wrong turn in the maze of corridors. The service could also have been better. One morning we ordered breakfast in the room and it never appeared when we tried to ring to find out about it, the person in reception transfered our call to room service, but all we got was an answering machine. When checking out, we realised we were being charge for this service, we mentionned the problem to reception and we were told room service was probably too busy! And we didn't even get an apology.
The bedroom was very , very hot. The window opened but the noise from some form of machinery on the roof was so loud that it was impossible to sleep with the window open. Not very comfortable or restful!
It took me 20 minutes to find my room, a bit of a maze. I had booked a single room but got a family room which was great. The only major downfall was the cheaper than cheap curtains, which did not block out any lights from outside, so I felt I was sleeping during the day.
Superb surroundings, great location for business and pleasure. Food very enjoyable. Use of the bosses helicopter would be a real bonus! thanks Kevin Hawkins
Everyting was perfect as always. I really enjoyed long weekend.Thank you.
we had a very nice time at city west we had a night away to celebrate our 25 year marrige ,we wished we could have stayed longer, fab bedroom and good food, thank you roomex for making it affordible.
Hello ,I am a regular customer at Citywest Hotel ,I attend for both a quiet night away with my husband and also feel quite comfortable to take my 3 small children and enjoy the service and comfort of the hotel ,the leisure centre is ideal for small children and families alike, the food in the bistro is lovely and reasonable and the staff are welcoming and pleasant ,which is always a bonus and i look forward to my next visit
I must say my stay in city west hotel was great,my room was very clean warm and spacious, The staff were courtious and friendly, everything I needed was there for me,and the grounds of the hotel were beutiful,I also played golf on the hotels championship golf course. There was great entertainment in the bar at night, all made for a fantastic stay in a fantastic hotel. theresa.
Great service and a great place to stay
This is now the third time I have stayed at City West. Each time was for 4 - 5 nights. I would say that it is one of the best hotels I've stayed in. It is very popular, very busy and very large but the staff are friendly and the food is good. I would recommend City West Dublin to anyone!
I stayed in the main section of the City West hotel (not the golf & Leisure section) and it was really fabulous....The room was lovely, clean, modern, comfortable and had all the amenities such as an iron, a working kettle, Tv, Broadband point for a laptop, even a notepad and paper. The food was gorgeous, and the atmosphere was lovely. The only thing I could say against it was the room numbers and the lift numbers did not correspond. I had to walk around and around for about 20mins trying to find my room. For example, I pressed number 4 on the lift to go to level four where my room was supposed to be No.4892, but when the lift doors opened, the door numbers actually started with 5*** so I had to go down a level. Just very confusing. Its a huge hotel but it was a very comfortable stay. I would definately stay again.
Very happy wth the room, daytime bar service and food, staff were very pleasant and accomodating. Ball room and bar well equipped, laid out and run, food presentation and quality were lovely. I would have no hesitation staying again and reccomending the hotel. Only complaint would have to be the staff in the residents bar were not very pleasant and lack of security was a big issue during the night, there were a lot of very drunk, obnoxious and intimidating men swarming inside and outside. There were several incidents of a frightening nature experienced by several different women on the night.
Overall a lovely clean and spacious hotel. Check-in staff poor in quantity, waiting for 20 minutes in a queue before I could get to the desk. Bar very full and rough at night, people shouting in the corridors throughout the night made the overnight stay tiring.
Very friendly staff Nice hotel Lovely facilities WOuld definitly go back
We stayed for the Charlie Pride concert-everything was great. Room was spacious tea coffee etc in room. We ate in Bistro -meal was v.g.esp the sea-bass. Will stay again!
This Hotel is a joy genuinely friendly great room great Leisure centre. We had Businness in Dublin but it felt more like a holiday we will be back.
attending a 2day business meeting a short drive from the hotel making the location highly conveninent. Excellent service and very friendly staff, food in restaurant was excellent. Rooms of the highest standard and couldnt find fault - will be back!
The rooms were excellent, upgraded to a superiour room without asking, perfect location on the ground floor, and the breakfast was lovely, Ill book through you again, excellent value for money
Hi. We stayed last w-nd at the City West Hotel,it was Superb. Room was very warm and comfortable, food excellent. We will be returning again. Kathleen & Thomas Gill
We had a very nice stay at The City West Hotel. Room was nice and comfortable the bathroom was large with separate w.c. and shower.Overall pleasant stay will return
Very very nice hotel with the ONLY problem arriving when you have to wait 30mins in a queue for Breakfast !!
staff really helpful
Excellent hotel with superb facilities and very helpful staff. If only all hotels could be like this, we would have very happy employees and clients!. Thank you roomex.
My stay at this hotel was for business purposes. From the cost, staff, facilties and food it was all superb. The complimentary products in the bedroom were first class and I could find no fault with the leisure facilties. I look forward to my next stay in citywest and would highly recommend it.
WE STAYED IN WHAT SEEMED TO BE A OLDER ROOM WE HAD NO INTERNET ACCES WHICH IS VERE IMPORTANT FOR MY WORK ON THE FIRSE NIGHT WE WENT LOOKING FOR THE POOL EXPECTING IT TO BE IN THE HOTEL TO FIND IT WA OUTSIDE AND ACROSS A CAR PARK ON RETURING FROM THE RECPTION WE WERE MET BY AN MANAGER AND HE RUDLEY INFORMED US THAT WE WERE TO HAVE A SHIRT ON IN THE AREA ALL IN ALL WE WILL NOT BE RECOMENDING IT TO ANBODY ELES AN I WOULD GIVE A 1 STAR RATING ON BOTH NIGHTS THERE WAS POOR PARKING IN THE CAR PARK AND WE HAD A BRIGH LIGHT SHINING IN OUR ROOM ALL NIGHT
It was a lovely hotel and the food was lovely, it was just unfortunate that a student ball was taking place the same night I stayed. The students took over most of the hotel and very noisey and drunk, they also took over the residence bar so we couldn't sit down and have a drink. It was a lovely hotel but just be warned if there are any big functions there.
A simply lovely hotel, good service, excellent staff especially at reception, they were very helpful. Food in the restaurant was delicious!!! Throughly enjoyed our stay. Price wise not expensive. Would definately go back!
We had a great time in the City West it was our third time to stay,we were attending Prison Officers function. Our room was one of the new ones and finished to perfection. All of the staff were very friendly from the Reception to the staff in the corridors saying hello. I would like to single out the gentleman in the Breakfast room who appeared to be in charge directing people to tables etc. The hotel was full that morning yet he greeted and directed people to tables with a smile and pleasant manner. It's a rare thing these days to get a good customer service anywhere so well done to all. Highly recommended.
Having stayed in alot of top quality hotels throughout the Country and indeed Europe, i must say that the high standards of accomadation in the City West Hotel Ranks right up there. From the rooms to the staff bright cheerful helpfull smiles right down to the delicious five course meal i ate, it definetly will be a hotel in which i will recommend in the future.
Room in Citywest Hotel was very grubby. The tiles in the bathroom were dirty. The towel rail in the en-suite was falling apart(not for the first time,as was apparent by the "no more nails").The window in the room wouldn't open to let in fresh air. There was no remote control for the t.v., but the piece de resistance was the pair of women's underwear that I found under the radiator. All in all, I wouldn't be rushing back!
I love CityWest hotel, have been before and will go again. Room was fantastic except for too warm and could not adjust radiator or thermostat. Was at dinner dance in hotel and this year it was in a more cosy room with excellent food and great band choice. The table presentation with candelabras being a lovely touch.
we really enjoyed our recent stay at this hotel. It was an extremely busy time and all rooms were booked. our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly and efficient and we got the same prompt attention as we have done in the past on a relatively quiet weekend. Will definitely be back
overall bar service was excellent. food service was very un friendly. i accept that there were 800 people in attendance but attitude was not helpful from staff serving.
I enjoyed my stay, the only problem was the room was to far away from the function room and if you needed anything from it it was a a long walk back especially in high heels food was lovely service to staff very friendly and helpful i would of living to stay another night and use the facilities
I had a good weekend. The room itself was a bit akward to find, down windy corridors and around bends the staff werent very helpful in getting me to where i was staying when i asked one member of staff he brought me on a round trip of the fourth floor even though i was on the third floor. The ironing board was very difficult to operate, as the original one had burn marks on it they supplyed a replacement one that was full of wires and with the iron attached to the board was hard to operate. The curtains were falling down off the windows which was not very pleasent for a hotel of its callibre. The rest of the hotel was immaculate, although i didnt know till the last minute there was a shop in the hotel this is not very well sign posted. The hotel is situated in the most splendiferous surroundings and the day was sunny but cold so we still got to enjoy the fountains and lands surrounding it. All in all a good hotel, a good stay. Regards Annette
We attended a wedding at the hotel (food and service was excellent) and were looking forward to a good night's sleep after a late night but this proved to be impossible. The room was too warm and it was impossible to turn the radiator off, when we opened the window the noise of some air conditioning or heating duct outside the window was so noisy we had to close it again. Eventually we managed to get to sleep only to be woken at 8.00a.m by drilling and heavy building noises that sounded as if they were in the room next door! Many of the other wedding guests were woken as well and I think it's safe to say that none of us will be returning. We couldn't even make ourselves a cup of tea as the kettle didn't work and when my husband tried to iron his shirt the iron didn't work either! The staff at reception weren't very interested in our complaint when we were checking out-they already had our money.
The central heating in the room couldn'rt be turned doen resulting in equatorial-like temperatures. Very uncomfortable. The menu in the Bistro didn't reflect that of a typical 4 star hotel and the staff always seemed rushed. The bar and cleaning staff were excellent. When I complained to the maanager about the heating in the room he was extremely helpful and friendly.
For a Hotel of its size, the attention to detail is amazing. For value for money it is hihgly recommended. The rooms are tastefully done. I could only recommend this hotel if anyone was afer a hotel in this area.
We stayed 2 nights at the City West Hotel and really enjoyed our stay. We have a 1 year old child and all the staff were very child friendly. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Our room was very clean and tidy and had everything you would want in it. We also used the leisure facilities, again these were first class. Our one year old really enjoyed the pool. We had a lovely weekend and would definitely stay there again.
Very helpful staff... good rooms.... conference facilities very good. Long walk to rooms though...
My parents stayed in the hotel and had a fabulous time, said the staff were lovely and welcoming, rooms were amazing and it couldn't have being nicer! They couldn't fault the hotel or anything about it, well worth visiting and i myself will be returning to the hotel. regards Paula K
Stayed for 5 nights and I had a very satisfactory stay. Away from the wife and three kids on Department of Education business the setting was perfect. I expected a small bit of noise like my own house but there was total silence at night. The food was great in the hotel and the staff were very friendley. I even made use of the excellent golf facilities at the hotel. I had no clue of directons in Dublin before this trip but found the Citywest a great starting location. roomex.com hotels were also very cheap comparied to other prices I had enquired about. Look forward to doing business in the future. Paddy McDaid
We stayed at Citywest recently for the purpose of conferencing (2 days). Everything about Citywest is good. Rooms are superbly furnished and exceptionally clean. Conferencing facilities are excellent - nice spacious rooms. Food is also exceptional and staff are extremely helpful. Overall, superb! We have offices in Dublin, N Ireland, Gloucester, Newark and London and staff travel all over the UK, staying in different hotels. Citywest is by far the best "all rounder" - everything is good about this hotel. Whether you want a nice relaxing weekend break or have a business meeting - Citywest is exceptional. A great hotel to impress clients.
A fantastic hotel, service was very professional. We attended the FAI awards and the staff and professionalism of those involved made this night one to remember during our stay. The meal was superb.. I just can't give enough prasie to the hotel and staff. Well done to all.
Staff always pleasant. Rooms are fab, really big and having a spa bath is such a treat. Breakfast always great quality and best of all, theres no traffic in this part of Dublin so it's very tranquil. Great place fopr the business traveller or for the person looking for some time out.
Good sized and well furnished room. Excellent hotel facilities. Would recommend
I have to say it was superb, I would do it all again. No complaints. Regards lorraine walker
Excellent room thank you.
Enjoyed Stay in Hotel .I was attending a function in the Ballroom. However the Bedroom area is in need of Refurbishment. Also The lift is totally inadequate for the number of rooms and floors .Direction signs to bedrooms could be improved. Hotel Bar is in need of a make over, Generally a bit scruffy (even early in Evening ).Staff very pleasent and efficient. REception staff very good and friendly .Porters all very friendly. Overall a pleasant experience.
my wife and I stayed on Saturday night which is obviously a very busy night.Despite being so busy the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The night receptionist and night Manager were very helpful when we had to change rooms due to two unexpected guests (our children were supposed to stay elsewhere). The food was excellent and incredibly fast. We had our main courses served in minutes because we didn't have starter's rooms are really cosy and homely for a new hotel. One small criticism is that every time we stay there we always have problems with the TV. I would have no reservations in recommending this hotel because the service and value for money is quite amazing given the size of the hotel.
As a first time user of booking an Irish hotel through Roomexhotels.com, I was very impressed with the whole process from booking online, right up to the end of my stay. Considering the large number of people (1,400) attending the function, there was ample car spaces within close proximity to the hotel. There was minimal delay checking-in considering the large number of guests. The room was immaculate and comfortable and the night was very enjoyable. In summary, the event was very well organised.
The hotel was stunning and the value outstanding will use Roomex again when next in Ireland
Whne I initially arrived, the room I was checked in to was over Air handling units and the back of th ekitchen. I requested a room change and was quickly accommodated in a much more suitable room.
SERVICE WAS OK COULD OF BEEN BETTER
There was a conference on, I had been put into the Golf Hotel, the room was very cold (heating off - in January!!), the lifts didn't work and I had luggage to carry up 4 floors and the room service was appalling - all in all NOT 4****.
I was very impressed with this hotel! The staff were extremely friendly checking in and checking out. The room was huge and fabulously decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean, beautiful clean, crisp white sheeting and duvet. The bathroom was very spacious with both a shower and jacuzzi bath. I was shocked at the choice of restaurants that the hotel offered. I think there were actually 5 restaurants to choose from ranging from steakhouse type menu's to Thai! The lobby of the hotel has a beautiful staircase and there was a welcoming fire glazing in the large fireplace in the lobby when we arrived. The price for one night stay including breakfast was €101 which I found very valuable considering the quality of the hotel. Overall a very pleasant stay, I would recommend it to anyone!
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It was a Christmas present from a friend - the overnight stay and a show. The room was a nice size and tastefully decorated.
WE ARRIVED AND WERE ALLOCATED A ROOM BY A VERY FRIENDLY HELPFUL MEMBER OF STAFF. OUR ROOM WAS VERY COLD , WE HAD TO TURN ON THE HEATING OURSELVES. ADMITTEDLY IT WAS A COLD NIGHT BUT WE FELT THE ROOM SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARMER. WE SAW A NOTICE OFFERING UPGRADES SO ON CONTACTING RECEPTION WE WERE MOVED FROM THE 4TH TO THE 5TH FLOOR TO THE UPGRADED ROOM AT A COST OF 35 EURO EXTRA PER NIGHT. THIS ROOM WAS EVEN COLDER. WE HAD TO KEEP OUR JACKETS ON UNTIL WE GOT THE HEAT GOING ENOUGH. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. WHEN THE HEATING WAS GOING WELL THE ROOM WAS LOVELY AND WARM BUT THE INITIAL TEMP. WAS WAY TOO LOW. EVEN OUTSIDE IN THE CORRIDOR WAS NOT WARM ENOUGH.WE SHOULD NOT NEED TO KEEP OUR JACKETS ON AND I ACTUALLY TOOK A BATH TO GET WARM. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT . WE HAD DINNER THERE ON SAT NIGHT AND BREAKFAST BOTH MORNINGS. ALL 3 EXPERIENCES WERE PERFECT. WE WENT TO BED ON SAT NIGHT AND WERE WOKEN AT ABOUT 3 AM BY NOISE ON THE CORRIDOR OUTSIDE OUR ROOM .WE HAD THE FIRST ROOM ON THAT CORRIDOR. THIS NOISE CONTINUED UNTIL ABOUT 6.30 A.M. I CONTACTED RECEPTION AT AROUND 5.30 APPROX.TO ASK IF THEY COULD ESCORT THE REVELLERS PAST OUR ROOM . SEVERAL PEOPLE KNOCKED ON OUR DOOR . OTHERS TRIED TO USE THEIR KEY CARDS TO GET IN.I ACTUALLY WENT OUT AT ONE STAGE TO ASK THEM TO KEEP THE NOISE DOWN ,TO NO AVAIL.IT WAS UNBELIEVABLY LOUD. I RECKON THAT IT WAS A MISTAKE MOVING US UP THERE AS I WOULD IMAGINE THE PLAN WAS TO KEEP ALL THE OVERNIGHTERS (AND THEIR ROOMLESS FRIENDS) ON THE 5TH FLOOR ONLY. WE DIDI COMPLAIN TO RECEPTION THE FOLLOWING MORNING ABOUT THE NOISE AND THEY DID NOT CHARGE US FOR DINNER OR THE UPGRADE. WE DID NOT MENTION THE COLD AS WE DID NOT WANT TO APPEAR TOTALLY GRUMPY. I HAVE TO SAY IT LEFT US WITH A BAD IMPRESSION OF THE HOTEL. I WOULD NOT BE RETURNINGTHERE IN A HURRY OR RECCOMMENDING IT TO ANY OF OUR FRIENDS.
We had a recent overnight stay in City West...while attending a concert there, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was excellent with all you would expect comes with 4star standard. We also dined there...great food. The breakfast was also very enjoyable with a fantastic selection to choose from. Excellent service with friendly helpful staff at all times. Would certainly stay again.
Staff not particulalry helpful or courteous, except in the golf store. Food and drink not much to write home about. Room satisfactory, well below what I was expecting for a hotel with such a good reputation. Will not be staying there again and will not be advising my friend to stay there.
beautiful hotel and surroundings - didn't realise there was two hotels until I was told my room was in the golf club !! fab hotel too. Food and service was fantastic - staff very friendly and helpful. Will recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to stay near Dublin.
Everything excellent, long delay for check in but to be expected the last weekend before Christmas,we were in a queue of about 50 but were checken in within 15 mins.Breakfast excellent.
We were there to see a play in Citywest. Our room was literally 2 mins walk on the ground floor making it easy to get too! The rooms were extremely warm and very very comfortable. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us there. The resturants were lovely! Food was fantastic and very reasonable too. An ideal place to get away and relax even it is only for 1 night.
Our stay in Citywest was very enjoyable and would definately return again, the only problem we had was the electricity failing for about an hour on the first night of our stay, however the staff were very helpful and by the end of all the drama we were having a good laugh about it. Our rooms were spotless and the food superb, The Waterford Girls
Stayed in room 2557 on the Palmerstown wing. Very bad room. Internet connection was faulty, tv was faulty, the iron in the room leaked and to top it all off just outside the room there is something like a refridgeration unit that was running all night long. Didn't get any sleep due to the noise!! If staying in citywest try and get a different wing!!
First I would like to say how pleased we were with the good price we got from Roomex. The Function we were attending offered ‘special prices’ for those attending, the price we got from Roomex was better. The Hotel was lovely, a quick and efficient check in, lovely spacious room with all the usual toiletries. It was spotless clean and very comfortable with a fine large bathroom. The food at the function was excellent, much to my surprise as there were such a large number. However I was very disappointed with the fact that there was no room service from Friday to Monday as I like breakfast in my room and I have willing paid high service charge in other hotels in Ireland for this comfort. Also if you are going to the Conference centre remember that you have to exit the hotel to get to it, luckily it was not raining
Room was clean and well presented, dinner most enjoyable with good food and excellent service. Buffet breakfast was first class with plenty of choice. Surroundings both internal and external added to the enjoyment of the stay.
To be honest I had expected a lot more from this hotel. It was my first time to stay there and if at all possible it will be my last. My room was as cold as an igloo, No heating on what so ever.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was there for a business trip. The reception hall was beaufifully decorated for the festive season making it a very homely atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and most courteous. The room was very well appointed with delightful colour co-ordination throughout. The restuarant and bar catered for a very relaxing and satisfying ambiance where the food and drink served was delicious.
I stayed in City West Hotel In November, It was Billiant the staff were so nice couldnt do enough for us, The hotel was just amazing, rooms so nice and big, clean, shower and a bath which you wouldn get in most hotels only one of the two. I book it for my boyfriend birthdays he love it so much even did a round of golf the next day. We would definately go back again
I have stayed at this hotel several times and I always find it excellent, spacious rooms, spotlessy clean ,friendly staff and a pleasure to stay.
Beautiful Hotel and Lemon Grass Restaurant was Excellent. The Bed Matress was below standard which let the Hotel Standard down in my opinion. Thanks
we had an excellent weekend with our friends. The hotel room was of a very high standard, and all members of staff were very helpful and courteous. We hope to return next year for another weekend.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The food was great, the staff were very friendly and courteous, the room was tidy and clean. We looked forward to coming and relaxing in our room after shopping in town and then eating in the restaurant. That's the second time we've stayed in the hotel and we'll be back next year!
I requested a room in a quiet part of the hotel and that is what I got. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Although I was only there for one night I enjoyed the stay as the staff were friendly and helpful. I will most definitely book a return trip at the Citywest Hotel.
Very good. Helpful and friendly staff
Leisure Centre was good, rooms clean except for a little "mildew" on bases of bath taps, restaurant tolerable and a little overpriced for the quality
1. When I checked in (27 Nov 07)I asked for a nailscissors to be sent to my room as I snagged my nail badly while travelling. There was no follow up and I left the hotel as I arrived. 2. When I went downstairs for a meal, football was playing on large screens in both the main lounge area and the enclosed bar (the latter one would expect). So I went to the 1F restaurant for an escape, but unfortunately football was playing on large screens there also. So to eat in peace, I had to walk to the sister hotel in the dark and on a cold night, to eat in a football free environment. It would appear the main hotel caters primarily for male guests. 3. My laptop connection to broadband would not work, although it worked fine in the Grand Hotel Malahide the night before. Very disappointing, considering all of the hype about CityWest. I had a better experience two years ago and think the hotel has gone downhill.
The hotel was very good and staff were very helpful and obliging. We had a meal in the Bistro restraunt which was excellent and we felt it was very good value by Dublin prices. For a very large hotel it was very friendly and relaxed. We will definitely be using it again on our visits to Dublin
We had a very plesant stay at City West.It was so easy to get to everything and we look forward to doing it again soon.Very nice hotel very clean and staff were very helpful.
Was a little disappointed with the hotel interior,it had a run down feel to it especially in the bar area where the furnishings have seen better days also there was a lack of waiting staff in the diningroom on the evening of check-in which surprised me in a four star hotel
beautiful hotel. our stay was fantastic. couldnt fault the servis at all. great variety in terms of breakfast. over all very enjoyable. will definately be visiting again.
had good time in citywest nice hotel, nice staff
I stayed there for my christmas party. The function room was really nice and the food and entertainment was superb. The hotel was lovely, very clean and the rooms had all modern facilities. The staff were really friendly and I would definitley stay there again.
I enjoyed my stay. I felt that the staff were excellent and always ready to help in whatever way possible. I would certainly stay there again and probably will.
We really enjoyed our weekend away, being heavily pregnant it was important that the hotel be comfortable, it was more than that, it was extremely luxurious and my husband was able to have a drink in one of the bars in the hotel which was friendly and atmospheric! The hotel was in a fantastic setting and I will definitely book with Roomex again!
Found City West to be a fabulous hotel, however just to remark on a few issues:- The room lighting is rather poor especially trying to get ready for a ball, also the bathroom fan resembles a tractor noise clicking in and out. Having to brace the elements on way to the ballroom was a bit dissapointing with hair, dress ect flying in all directions. Everything else was first class and my stay there was a wonderful experience and I have no hesitation hightly recommending to anyone and also recommending roomexhotels as I only hit on roomex by accident and was delighted with special rates. Best regard, Mary Wall
Upon entering the hotel went to be checked in, this was complete within five minutes, we were staying on ground floor which was excellent, so could have a few extra wines with our dinner, did;nt have to worry about falling up the stairs!!! Room was in very good condition, breakfast was excellent, so overall we very much enjoyed our stay at City West
The rooms were only average and one of them had a leak, we were told on arrival that there is no room service available at the weekend. we attended a function and the meal was very much below standard
we really enjoyed our stay in the city west we have used this hotel a few time and always find the staff so friendly and helpfull.. the food was grat n service was also very good .. thank you joanne
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was excellent and the full irish breakfast was great, each portion was enough to feed two or more! The downfall (and the reason I have only given a satisfatory above) with this hotel for us was the lack of interest with the reception staff, one girl in particular who was a trainee receptionist and who you would imagine would try to make more effort. I had a small query with this lady when we were booking in and I feel it could have been handled more professionally or even with a smile! I would go as far as to say this lady was down right rude with her response. Its a pity the frontline staff are not better especially for a four star hotel you would expect a certain standard after all they are the face of the hotel and the first people you make contact with. But overall this hotel is great and the surrounding area of the hotel was a delight to look out at first thing in the morning. Thank you.
excellent location and as i was on a course from work it was ideal. hotel is excellent and room and food wonderful.
OUR ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT WE WERE CHARGED THREE TIMES ON OUR CREDIT CARD FOR THREE ROOMS WHEN WE ONLY STAYED IN ONE AND HAD PREPAID THROUGH ROOMEX. WHILST WE WERE REFUNDED EVENTUALLY WE HAD SEVERAL PHONES CALLS TO MAKE TO THE HOTEL. IN THE END THE MEMBER OF PERSONNEL CLAIMED THAT THE MISTAKE WAS OURS NOT THEIRS - WE MUST HAVE BOOKED 4 ROOMS OVER THE INTERNET! WE HAD ACTUALLY LEFT THE HOTEL BEFORE THE MONEY HAD BEEN CHARGED TO OUR CREDIT CARD AND HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRANSACTION UNTIL THE ARRIVAL OF OUR STATEMENT AT WHICH STAGE WE WERE CHARGED INTEREST ON THE 600 EURO WHICH HAD BEEN MISTAKENLY TAKEN BY THE HOTEL. I MADE THE BOOKIKNG FOR THE HOTEL AND I AM CERTAIN THAT I DID NOT BOOK 4 ROOMS. IT IS BECAUSE OF THIS THAT I WILL NOT BE STAYING IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND IT TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS. AS FOR ROOMEX I WILL USE THE SERVICE AGAIN IN THE HOPE THAT THE SAME PROBLEM DOES NOT REOCCUR.
Exceptionally good, great value, very clean. Plenty of choice for breakfast.
Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The rooms are always clean and the facilities are second to none. will be staying at this hotel again when the opportunity presents itself
the best thing about our stay was the cost, about 45% less than booking directly with the hotel, we were at a function at the hotel that night, so it was great after the party just to fall into bed, no looking for taxis in the cold and paying a fortune, we had the comfort of a lovely hotel room with breakfast and drive home the next morning , would have no problem booking with roomex again, and that was my first time. keep up the low cost rooms. regards sharon
We booked a night in City West Hotel and when we arrived we were actually staying in the Golf section rather than the actual hotel. This was disappointing and we found the staff were very rude also when we questioned this.
room comfortable and staff very friendly. food and facilities perfect for short term stay
Excellent value for money. Room was spacious, service was fast and the breakfast was excellent too.
stayed for a wedding found it diffcult to find lift to room frendliy staff worth staying for the breakfast
very happy with hotel & service
very nice hotel highly recomended the facilities are spot on.
plenty of staff on duty at all times. efficient and friendly.lunch had no veg on two days otherwise v happy
First time we stayed in city west hotel. Rooms and food very good, No entertainment and none nearby.
hello, i loved the hotel and i was very impressed with the staff and the hotel, when we went to check in all the smoking rooms were gone and the staff upgraded us, which i thought was really nice of the hotel, i am always recommending this hotel, and roomex to all my friends and family. i am delighted to have discovered roomex and the city west as i could not posibly find 2 more fantastic company's to deal with. thank you carol, cork
We were up at the Camogie All-Stars. Firstly, plenty of parking, at check in staff were very friendly and efficient. Plenty of staff around to help you. Food was excellent as it was a huge function and plenty of staff on hand. Rooms and bathrooms lovely and spacious and very clean. Over all a lovely hotel and plenty to see and do.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Staff were all very helpful. Dinner in restaurant was excellent. Very enjoyable stay overall.
really enjoyed our stay rooms were superb it was our first time staying there and recommended it to my friends and will stay there again
Already reviewed this hotel more than once as stayed there several times, thought, food, area, golf, swimming, staff all fantastic. Just wanted to add that the hotel had a lovely character with the impressive entrance hall and lovely staircase and furniture. Nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurants as well. beautiful views from the restaurant and the rooms.
Loved the place so much that I kept extending my stay. Great for Dublin and work, lovely area, loved the swimming pool/aqua aerobics and golf especially. Food fantastic and the staff very friendly and helpful
I wrote last time that I absolutely loved the place, handy for work, for Dublin and loved the golf and swimming pool. The breakfasts were delicious and the restaurant food was great as well. All the staff were very friendly and even though I was on my own I felt comfortable even in the bar in the evenings. In fact I even extended my stay I think 3 or 4 times
Absolutely loved the place, handy for work, for Dublin and loved the golf and swimming pool. The breakfasts were delicious and the restaurant food was great as well. All the staff were very friendly and even though I was on my own I felt comfortable even in the bar in the evenings. Will definetly be going back there next time I am in Ireland and have been very disappointed that I was not able to go back there this autumn
the craic was brillant there, was there for the all ireland under 21 final.we all had a mighty time.
Only drawback was the hotel is a little far out from Dublin. Staff and al facilities excellent especially the staff who were helpful, courteous and professional. The 2 golf courses were quite good and in prestine order.
Very comforable hotel, good faclities breakfast was excellent. The only down was the service in the Bar/Restaurant Area was very poor, for such a big hotel that hosts many large groups, they seemed very unorganised in the Bar/Restauant Area.
I stayed in this hotel with my partner for a night to attend a wedding. The service was not good. The staff were short with both myself and my partner. They were very unhelpful and at least 3 times one or two of them raised their eyes to heaven when we asked about room service and our room. The room was freezing when we walked in. When we called down to reception a staff member came up, barged in, fixed the thermostat and stormed out. We ordering room service that never arrived and a card and present was stolen during the wedding party, obviously not by one of the guests. We would not recommend this hotel.
our stay was verry enjoyable and we will be useing it again
STAFF HERE WERE NOT HELPFUL ON OCCASION I STAYED HERE. ROOMS I WILL SAY WERE OK BUT TRYING TO GET OUR LIGHTS FIXED IN THE ROOM TOOK AWHILE AND CHECK OUT NEXT DAY WAS A DISATER. I WOULDNT STAY HERE AGAIN UNLESS I REALLY HAD TO!
Excellent hotel. Very clean and staff very helpful
In the hotel for an overnight stay following an evening match in Croke Park. Everything from welcoming reception staff, good bar food, great night entertainment, superb room and very plentiful and varied breakfast options made for a very enjoyable stay, and coupled with safe car parking, we would be quite happy to make a return visit.
I have stayed in Citywest on numerous occassions and have always enjoyed my stay. Facilities are what you would expect. Rooms are clean and comfortable, leisure facilities are excellent, staff are relaxed and friendly, restaurant and bar facilities are very satisfactory. For access to Dublin city centre however, you need your own car or taxi (which is readily available but expensive). Public transport is really not an option. Apart from this, I highly recommend Citywest.
Staff were rude and unhelpful, decor was dated and ultimately the hotel was just so big that there was no atmosphere to relax in - just mass groups of functions that were treated like production lines. There was nowhere to have breakfast as the hotel was so busy that they ran out of space, so we gave up and left. Not to be recommended for a relaxing weekend break.
Very nice hotel, comfortable warm rooms and nice breakfast. Didn't like the earlier than usual check-out time though.
had a lovely stay , hotel spotless , staff excellent . would stay any time Food excellent . Top class .
The food in the restaurant was average and not very appetising. Hospitality and service in the bar excellent. Room to a high standard. Strongly objected to having to pay in £ GBP at the hotels conversion rate to the Euro. The receptionist stated that "its standard European policy to pay in your home currency". Apparrently the rest of Europe is therefore not complying.
We stayed in this hotel on two different week-ends during the summer. Both occasions was to attend Croke Park for matches. Our County team also stayed in the hotel. I found the room spacious and very clean, lovely ensuite. The breakfast was great anything you wanted from fresh fruit to assorted ham and cheese also your traditional fry. A banquet was held for the team after their match in which 300 guests attended, the service for this was excellent and the food superb. The staff were polite and friendly at all times. Even though this hotel was completely booked out on both occasions you could not find fault with anything. P.S. The icing on the cake was Galway won the Minor All Ireland Football Final
Although I haven't stayed at the CityWest for over a year??
Beautiful hotel with excellent service
was delighted with the quality of service, there was a lot of functions on the night we stayed but standards never dropped!!! well done to all concerned. would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the capital!!! The place was buzzing !!!
It was grand but would have preferred to be in the City West itself not the Golf Hotel as we are not at all interested in golf and the conversation around was very much 'Golf' My child adores the City West itself and that is why we took him back there but we ended up being in the Golf Hotel.
Excellent staff, lovely room, beautiful surroundings. Excellent value for money. One point to note - guests may be put in the golf hotel, which is a separate building from the main hotel, and therefore away from the restaurant, conference centre and leisure centre. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay. We hope to stay there again in future.
The room was good value for money . Charged twice in error by both City West and Roomex , however when I phoned to explain this it was credited promptly without any hassle . The only negative was that the breakfast was very luke warm .
My mother and her friend stayed there while going to the Riverdance a few months back and I have to say they were treated just in the worst manner... There was three of them in the room, ,my mother and her two friends. When the show was over, they went back to their room, to find out when they turned on the light bulb it blew, and shattered into pieces onto the floor... But that's not the worst part, when they went down to the reception about this, cause they were in pitch darkness in the room, they were treated very badly The one at the reception gave them little to no help what so ever, instead gave them a key to what can only be described as a broom closet as it was so small... when they eventually found the room That's right, the room barely had a room number on it, and they spent 20 mins walking your dreary corridors searching for this room, but to no avail. They went back down to the one at reception, who again gave them directions to the room, instead of getting someone to show them to their room, after all it was your fault that they had to vacate their original room so the least you could do is put them up in a nice room and show them where that room is.... My mother had been ill for awhile and she was looking forward to this weekend, which was first ruined by our seats at the show being removed on the night for safety reasons, for which we were also never reinbursed for, but then this codology with the room just made the weekend a shambles...
This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are so friendly, the rooms were lovely and clean and the guinness was first class! This hotel was well worth the money we paid and the meals they serve were unfaultable! The hotel itself was a bit away from the centre of Dublin but they can arrange taxis for you to get you into city or there is a bus stop just at the end of the driveway up to it. With all the amenities at the hotel though you would not need to leave it. They have a gym, pool, jacuzzi, steam room, hairdressers and beauty salon, not to mention the amazing golf courses!! I would definately reccommend the citywest hotel for everyone to go to!!
Excellent stay at the hotel in beautiful surroundings everything was first class from beginning to end. All staff friendly courteous and helpful. I plan to take my husband sometime as my last visit was with work.
We were there for a Bridge weekend.Everything was well organised. Staff were excellent & food was equally good.
Stayed for 2 nights in October during the Darts. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and gym facilities were free to use. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Very friendly staff. The rate we got through Roomex was excellent. Bedrooms were large and well furnished. Bathrooms were spotless with plenty of towels. The only drawback is the distance from the city but this will be resolved when the new Luas connection opens. Would recommend this hotel if the rate is as good as the roomex rate, but I wouldn't pay the rack rate
We had a fantastic night at the hotel. We were attending the darts final in the conference centre and when we arrived we found we were staying in the Golf hotel and not the main hotel. This was not a problem for us as the golf hotel is only about 3 mins walk from the main hotel and it was a dry night so we didn't mind strolling back. The rooms were clean and comfortable but our ground floor room was a long walk from reception. The breakfast was first class the next morning and we would have no problem in booking here again. In fact we are already looking forward to next years competition.
Hotel itself is very nice. Food hot and tasty. Corridors very noisy all night right up to 6.00 a.m. the following morning would not under any circumstances recommend this hotel for families or for someone looking for a romantic interlude !
rooms extreamly comfortable, couldn't fault anything, would stay again.
We had a great stay in this hotel. We were there for a concert in Marley Park, the staff were very helpful with taxi's and directions to the venue. It was very clean and tidy could not fault it.
We really enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it to friends and family. We decided to stay in this Hotel to break a long journey. As it just so happened the world darts was on in which my husband was delighted. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was excellent and the food was superb we will definitley stay again.
The City West had a very upmarket feel to it with helicoptors, and stretched Bentleys parked outside. Yet the accommodation was very affordable the rooms were spacious and clean. The bar area was superb with a kind of medieval theme that worked well with the rest of the decor. The breakfast was delecious and there was plenty of choice, with friendly staff. A definite must for keen golfers who wish to induldge before a round at the beautifully set course.
Stayed in the Citywest hotel. For the reputation of the hotel was very disappointed with the standard hotel room. Stayed for a wedding and was very disappointed with the food served. Stayed on a Friday night, put out the room service card for breakfast to the room, was awoken early in the morning by a phone call to notify us that breakfast was not delivered to the rooms at the weekend!
I was staying at this hotel on business and was alone for my stay. However, I didn't feel conscious of this like I do sometimes at other hotels. The staff made me feel welcome and were very helpful with everything- when I was looking a bit lost while searching for my room, one of them asked me if I was ok and directed me to where I needed to go. There are many comfrotable couches in the hotel where you can sit and read a good book and not miss the time passing. However, Staff at the checkin desk are not always so efficient and tended to ignore me and serve others before me. I had an issue when I was checking out and they made me wait for a long period before finally helping me and I was the one who sorted out their issue for them in the end. The booking with Roomexhotels hadn't gone through their system so they were goign to charge me a second time for the booking. It wasn't until I called roomex myself (the hotel didn't think to do this) that the situation was resolved. I have stayed there since and htere have been no issues.
Stayed here for a wedding during the W/E of the hurling All-Ireland final..Big crowds and great crack!Everything perfect ,food, drink , accomodation ,room ,wedding feast, breakfast, staff very helpfull in particular the Lady dishing out the nosh at breakfast !!!She had a great sense of humour while under severe pressure !!!First time staying here and will definitely be back. Ideal location for fast exit out of Dublin and liked the idea of the regular bus service to and from Croke Park Mike
We really enjoyed our stay at your hotel. The room was beautiful with all the amenities you could want. Breakfast was included and there was a great selection of food available, something for everyone. Look forward to staying there again.
City West Hotel is somewhat out of the city so not ideal if you are planning a night in Dublin. Whilst a little more expensive, would recommend upgrading to a superior room - more luxurious with better furnishings. Staff are friendly, hotel is quiet. There is a great Asian restaurant in the golf hotel on the complex - ideal if you do not want to travel the distance to Dublin city centre - always busy, graet selection and you can watch the chefs as the kitchen area is open. Breakfast is a wide selection of both hot and cold food. Have stayed many times on business and for golf and will be back.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the rooms were very comfortable and the restaurant food was delicious..
Hotel, staff and facilities were very good I would recommend this hotel highly.
We stayed at the hotel for a work function. The work function itself was very well organised and a great night. The hotel accomodation was excellent and breakfast the following day was very impressive. Altogether I felt that it was great value.
very enjoyable experience, well run, friendly staff, no complaints
Myself and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for just the one night. We stayed in the golfing hotel which we were not certain would have the same standards as the main hotel. We got food from the Lemon Grass restaurant which was exceptional the staff were very nice, we did not have to wait long for our food and we had more than enough. We then went into the bar were there was a band on, the atmosphere was great and we decided to stay there for the evening and had a great night. Everyone was friendly and the bar staff were very nice. The next morning we got up for breakfast and the only fault was we had a long que outside which i suppose was unavoidable, they took our names while we sat down and called us when a table was available. The breakfast was really nice there was a choice of cereals, breads, juices and also the good old full Irish Breakfast. I would definitely recommend to stay in this hotel with nice food and good atmosphere in the bar you will have some great nights.
We stayed in this hotel for one night after having arrived into Dublin airport, we chose this hotel as it provides easy access to the N7, which we took to Limerick the next day. We couldn't fault the hotel, everything was perfect, big, clean comfortable room, good breakfast and the rate wasn't too bad either.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was in excellent condition and the whole experience from booking the room online to checking out of the hotel was very professional. This was not our first stay here and it definitely won't be our last.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. and i am hoping to book it for longer next year at around the same date. I stayed there for my birthday as a treat to myself and it just so happened when the darts was on. It was so nice to be able to take sometime out from the darts and go to my room and just to relax. There is however just one fault that I have and that is the waiters/waitresses at breakfast time, they took so long to bring out the tea/coffee that breakfast was nearly gone. I like to have my tea with my breakfast not after it.
You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
What a beautiful hotel set in STUNNING surroundings!!!! Unfortunately I was there on business and didn't get a lot of time to soak up the scenery or all of the hotels facilities, but we did eat in the LemonGrass restaurant which was first class....both the food and service. I will definately return for a longer pleasure visit in the near future.
It was the weekend of the darts and the hotel was absolutely jammed all weekend. All in all the stay was very enjoyable. The rooms were grand and the breakfast was excellent. The price of the stay was also extremely reasonable.
I attended the Ladies Football Banquet after the All Ireland Final. The check in was very quick and efficient. The room was spacious and very clean and tidy. I stayed in Golf Hotel of the City West which was a two minute walk from the Main Hotel. The staff were friendly and kind. The food unfortunatley at the banquet was not very palatable and this was a disappointment and this view was in the majority of our group of 26 that attended the banquet.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in citywest as did my group. I find the hotel very friendly and the atmosphere really homely, which was a big suprise for such a large hotel. The rooms were really nice also. I have 1 critisism and that would be of the Restuarant. The service is so slow. We were waiting up to 1 1/2 hours for our starter which I though was nuts. Other than the service We had a really enjoyable stay and look forward to staying again next year.
We enjoyed our stay in the Citiwest however the hotel rooms were a little hard to find. we were there for the Camogie All Stars, Staff were extermly friendly and food was good also
We stayed in a 4 star hotel. The room was vert shabby. When we pulled the curtains the hooks for both tie-backs fell out of the wall. In the bathroom the suite hadn't been finished properly with screws sticking out of the wall in the shower. The lift was very small and dingy, only accomodating around 4 people at a time. This lift was the only lift to service all of our floor plus the floors above and below. A couple with 2 young kids used the 4 flights of stairs instead of waiting on the lift becasue it was so slow. We stayed at the hotel for a wedding and everything about the wedding was great. Except for our room!
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.. we addended a sports awards function and everything was of the highest standard staff could not have done more for us.. Rooms spotless and very cosy.. food excellent. all in all a great time had by all.
Nice Hotel, good food, good bar, Room was a bit cramped and the aircon was noisy.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for a wedding. The reception hall was designed and set up beautifully, everything finished off to the highest quality. Our room was about 3 minutes away, making it ideal to go back to for a bit of peace. You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
