Drinks in the bar could be improved
The room I was given was clean and spacious. I ordered my evening meal via room service and the waiter was polite and very helpful (suggested I should put the tray outside my room once finished) I used the gym, it's not the biggest gym but has what you need. It also boasts quite a nice view of Dublin (which is nice where you are pounding on a treadmill but going nowhere!) My rate was B&B and as I was travelling on my own I had breakfast alone. The restaurant staff, on realizing I was on my own couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. They even offered me a paper to read while having breakfast. The city was busy that night (Munster v Leinster match just one of the things going on) but I didn't hear a thing that night which was great and not always the case when staying in Dublin.
Water pipe in the room made a noise the whole night.
Quick efficient check in and check out. Friendly staff, clean room comfortable bed. Good wifi access.
Room was very clean, staff very helpful and location was excellent for our needs. Have to say would highly recommend staying in this particular hotel for convenience etc.
Comfortable room. Good service. A very impressive breakfast room.
The Burlington (as we all still call it!) is a classy hotel and never fails to impress. Great bar and food, but some decent Irish sausages would be welcome at breakfast.
Perfect place to stay the night before the Dublin City Marathon, 2 minutes from the race start line. Nice, quiet room and easy parking until after the race. Staff very helpful and friendly. Nice variety for breakfast.
The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
Spacy rooms, very friendly staff, clean.
We were overtop of the banquet hall and it was too loud to sleep.
Lovely hotel with lovely staff.
Hotel and food were excellent.
Very customer service from arrival to departure. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Room was great.
One lift was out of service for entire stay which caused some inconvenience and delays to guests. Food and service in bars and restaurant at breakfast was very good. Service at awards function was very good.
Lovely room, super staff, even got a cookie at reception!
Nice short stay , lovely staff.
ENJOYABLE STAY GOOD STAFF GOOD ROOM
Great hotel completely revamped to the highest standard & excellent staff! A real success story of how an old hotel can be reinvigorated to be a top hotel again!
Excellent service and very comfortable and enjoyable accommodation. WiFi throughout the hotel is excellent. Breakfast was superb, both choice and quality of food.
This is a fine hotel, with a fine breakfast, at a fine Roomex price. The bed linen is very nice also. However, my recent stay in room 701 (highest & furthest from anywhere)was a decidedly cold affair. The room was very cold on arrival (also why was my room door open ?) - the air heating system immediately put on at maximum, at best put out a mildly warm air flow, which took a long time to provide any warmth to the room - only at higher levels - ground level was closer to outside temperature ! Its also a very noisy air con unit, impossible to sleep with it on, so the room freezes over again. The Bathroom remained baltic the entire time, the meagre heat from the room didnt penetrate that far ! It wont put me off staying in this hotel, but only in a warmer room !
Excellent service, incredible food, marvelous rooms, everything was spot on!
Hotel has been renovated to a high standard. Room was excellent with a new bathroomn and a king size bed. Reception staff were excellent and check in and out with Roomex voucher was very straightforward. I would use the Doubletree Hilton again. Buses to city centre were very frequent.
Hotel was lovely, rooms were good size and tv was class!! Hotel bar was nice and big but drinks and food were abit expensive
Excellent stay at the hotel, very professional and everything very well provided and executed
Could not sleep until Christmas party disco music stopped at 2:30am
Hotel is being renovated no indication on your web site when booking. Asked for a renovated room as got really bad reports from friend who ended up in old room recently. Workmans lifts right outside our window started 8am saturday morning not impressed
We really enjoyed our stay .All the staff were so helpful an nice ,the hotel looked beautiful and bright we will be back there very soon ,
Fantastic as always, The rooms have been completely modernised to a high standard.
The Hotel was just perfect for what we wanted. The only critisim I have is the car park was full when we arrived on Friday afternoon and we were very lucky to find a space nearby. Other than that the place was just perfect with clean and very comfortable rooms. Great value through Roomex. Thanks a mil!
Good room. Pleasant staff. Enjoyable breakfast.
Room v comfortable. Staff welcoming. Food great. Convenient location. No complaints whatsoever.
lovely place to stay, good breakfast, nice staff
Room was nice. Clean with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. We were allowed to leave our car parked outside while we went to the rugby on the Sunday which was an added bonus.
Building work started at 7.00 am both outside and inside...terrible..Room was lovely.
Has undergone / undergoing some refurbishment work which has added to the quality of the bar and lobby. Rooms are pretty standard but clean and all you need. Maybe it is time to invest in some new tv's in the rooms!!
Nice hotel, would stay here again. Close to city centre and good public transport links. Rooms are nice and modern. Happy customer.
Burlington a great hotel. Top class service.
very very pleased with rooms but unfortunately reservations made a bit of a mistake with our booking and put us through two very stressful days awaiting confirmation of a third room. Alwyn in reservations was exceptionally helpful & friendly with this problem.
room was very nice and clean very low hand rail in shower i found it tough to get out
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who gave us two warm chocolate chip cookies(a lovely touch). She asked were we staying for any kind of occasion which indeed we were.. our first wedding anniversary. She then gave us options of rooms for example quiet rooms or the newly refurbished rooms that might have been in a slightly noisier part of the hotel due to a college graduation being held there that night. After a relaxing drink in the bar we went up to our room and to our surprise found two glasses of champagne and strawberries with a box of butlers chocolates. We greatly appreciated this and it made our night feel extra special. The room was cosy and comfortable with a huge plasma t.v . Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone staying in Dublin for the night.
Lovely hotel great location as we were attending Rugby International at the Aviva.Room was large and spacious, the hot cookie on arrival is a nice touch, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice the restaurant manager at breakfast is very welcoming I think he is with the hotel for many years and he remembered us from previous stays very nice man,we were very happy with our stay and we are looking forward to our next visit.
The hotel staff and the hotel room were up to standard but the door staff that were in charge at our graduation were extremely rude and dismissive. When we arrived to the hotel, we were informed that the car park was full. When we asked the door man where we might get parking, he did not even look at us, but started talking to someone else, completely ignoring our query. The same was also true later that night when I stepped outside the hotel. When I tried to get back in to the hotel, the bouncer refused to let me in, despite me carrying my room key. He would not even have the courtesy to check the booking, where he would have plainly seen my name as a resident. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any function (graduation, wedding etc.). The poor unprofessional door staff really let down the whole experience.
Room was beautiful. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be he breakfast room was very cold but there was a good selection of food to choose from.
We were very happy with our stay at Doubletree Hotel. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was clean & spacious. Breakfast was lovely the next morning. I will definately be returning the next time I'm staying in Dublin.
Enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree, the staff were very friendly, and polite. The room was a little on the small side, and finding a car parking space a little challenging. However would still recommend it as it offered real value for money and the breakfast was excellent.
Hotel was very good, decor in room a bit dated but otherwise very comfortable, breakfast the following morning was excellent
Seems like the hotel is being remodelled at the moment. I was lucky enough to have one of the new rooms. Can only be described as perfect. Great breakfast too! Will be back...
No parking at the hotel and had to park approx. 500m away from the hotel. They should have alternative parking in place while the renovations are on-going. The people staying in the room next door were drinking till 4am and making a lot of noise. We tried to call the reception, the porter, room service and security and none of them answered. The room and hotel was comfortable and the location was reasonable.
The Hotel was fine with a good breakfast and nice rooms. However we were staying in Dublin the so called home of the great pint of Guinness. We had a couple of lovely pints in Searsons and the Leeson Lounge. We decided to have one in the Bar of the Hotel before retiring to bed. Now i know that Hotel Bars are notorious for bad pints but the pint of the black stuff in this hotel was just AWFUL. The bar people were/are just not interested in giving a good pint even at the princeley sum of €5.40 for same. Please rectify same please or maybe Diageo might spend some money training bar people in how to pull a good pint rather than the waste of money that is Arthurs Day!
Had a lovely stay last weekend. Room lovely, food great and really enjoyed the complimentary cookie. I look forward to staying there again.
Lovely hotel. Rooms are very nice, lots of nice touches, free warm cookies on arrival and complimentary bottled water in the rooms. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. Really enjoyed our stay here, staff were great. Big thumbs up!
We were coming up for a 20 year re-union, a night away from the kids! Easy location to reach in a car when your not used to driving in Dublin. Car parking only 5 euro as an overnight customer. Friedly reception, yummy cookie on arrival, clean room, great breakfast. All staff that we met were friedly and polite.
Lovely hotel, great staff. Food was great
Lovely hotel. Great location. Renovations ongoing during our stay. Disruptions were kept to a minimum. Would certainly use this hotel again.
My stay was a wonderful experience, food ,staff, facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend the Dt Dublin Hotel.
Old lady in a new coat !!!! Many of the old comfortable features are still present, but with some of the newer features associated with the Doubletree brand. Great value from Roomex for a B&B stay. Will definitely be on my checking list for future stays.
Hotel was fab, price was even better, but the food, well that was delicious. Hats of to the catering department
arrived at hotel on friday the 20th was quickly dealt with. Room very omfortable. Breakfast next morning was super. Delightful staff, very good choice of food. My only complaint was the waiting time on saturday morning at check out.
I have stayed in the Burlington before and enjoyed my stay then and as the Dt hotel it is very central.Rooms are very clean and the staff are very attentive and excellent breakfast. I would stay again.
Very comfortable room and the bottles of water left in the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent a great variety
Excellent breakfast and staff very nice :)
Excellent stay, very comfortable and prob the best breakfast in Dublin!
This hotel is beautiful! We approached the hotel and to be honest it doesant look great from the outside so dont be fooled! Once we stepped inside we were amazed!! It is stylish, classy and definitely somewhere we will be staying again! Warm gooey cookies greeted us on check-in which sadly made our day! It is central to the city centre with Taxis plentyful outside the hotel gates.. We loved it!!
This hotel has just rebranded from the Burlington to the Double Tree and we were very impressed. Still work to be done but the signs to date are very good. A warm cookie each on arrival, friendly and efficient staff, very comfortable room, we could not ask for more. Close enough to city centre for a brisk walk or short taxi ride. The Dt hotel ticks the boxes. We will continue to return.
Stayed at the hotel for a shopping weekend as we got it for a reasonable price been a 4 star hotel. The hotel was very clean, quite and loads of parking (despite undergoing renovations at present) and a taxi to the city centre was less than 10euro which we thought was excellent value.Unfortunately the bar food we received was very poor and had to be returned resulting in us having to go back into the city centre quite late to eat.
I find it really difficult to rate the DT Dublin Hotel. Staff are wonderful and breakfast service superb. However the hotel is under total refurbishment at the moment and the noise from about 7.30 a.m. throughout the day into early evening is absolutely horrendous. I honestly don't know how the staff are coping with it. I understand that the refurbishment is totally necessary but wonder about the merits of keeping the hotel open with such noise levels during rennovations? Also the majority of the car park is taken up with builders equipment and I had nowhere to park my car apart from out on the road on a meter which needed to be topped up regularly which was highly irritating. Its also an expensive car and I was worried about its security as a result. Had I known all this was going to be taking place, I wouldn't have stayed there. So while I appreciate change must happen I don't think the guests should suffer - hence my below average rating. But I must stress this has no reflection on the wonderful staff.
Overall experience excellent. Staff friendly and very helpful. Night reception superb. Breakfast excellent.Only one small downside-unable to adjust temperature of water in shower- it was extremely hot.
Have stayed in this hotel many times. Had requested double room but got a twin ... Didn't bother to tell reception as too tired at that stage .
Hotel under construction - sign saying work would cease at 5 p.m. on the Friday. It never stopped all weekend (we had 2 nights booked). Noise unbelievable. Booked a triple room - tried to put us in a double. Left waiting in foyer for 1.1/2 hrs for a room - told to go get a drink or coffee (we had to pay for it). Breakfast awful - fry cold, scrambled egg gone black and we were down at 10 a.m. (last b/fast at 11 a.m.). Room basic - heat unbearable (no A/C). No complimentary water. Ice machine on 6th floor not working. Plastic disposable cups in room. No fridge (2 of everything and there was 3 of us). It should be closed for renovations - instead it's just getting a bad name. Was talking to a few foreign visitors who were not impressed either. Obviously with the name & reputation everyone expected more. Very run down and needs a complete make-over. Upon check-out we were not even asked if everything was o.k. etc. absolutely nothing - room was pre-paid last Jan. so we were just told thanks for returning the keys !!!! Never again unless Hilton (whom have bought it) have very high standards.
Hotel room was just fine, with all the benefits you would be looking for. It was unnaturally warm in Dublin and air condition would have been superb. Breakfast was nice, although the hotel seems to have difficulty to deal with the large number of quests looking for food at the same time. The restaurant was closed for renovation, which limited the options a bit. Personal was superb and ultimately enjoyed my stay in DTT Dublin Hotel
The hotel rooms were too hot with no air con or fan supplied. The renevations took from the ambience and atmosphere. The breakfast was very good
Great location, very close to city centre. Room was modern, a little on the small side for 4 star. Very warm but bed was comfortable and overall was satisfactory for the one night. Disappointed no room service card for breakfast
Hotel was lovely, near to town and the food was very goods. Staff at desk very helpful
Hotel was lovely and the staff were very friendly.Food also very good ,would definitely stay there again .
We always look forward to staying at the Burlington. Very friendly, efficient and experienced staff. Great location for strolling into town, good car parking facilities and excellent rooms. What more could you ask for? We will return!
Very good service overall from when you arrive to when you depart. great food
lovely stay, no fuss check in and staff were top class, a pleasure to stay here, cheers
very enjoyable stay friendly staff lovely food beds comfortable
Great atmosphere in the Burlington - very good service from all staff -rooms very comfortable and well maintained - superb breakfast
Bathroom not very clean. Bed quite small compared to more modern hotels. Breakfast function room very dated, unorganised and not pleasant to dine in at all.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was attending the AIM awards. The breakfast was lovely. Really great choice and in particular the cooked breakfast buffet was really good. The staff were really friendly. I couldn't fault the room in any way, it was clean and tidy. All in all my only problem was that I didn't get to spend enough time in the hotel.
Friendly and clean. Breakfast ok.
Hotel was lovely Lovely breakfast fab
The Burlington Hotel is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are beautiful & spacious. The food is gorgeous & the staff are extremely friendly & helpful. I have stayed there three times & will definitely stay there again.
Very nice staff. comfortable bed, clean room and the breakfast was very nice. Love the free wifi all around the hotel too.
Good standard rooms, excellent breckfast
Stayed one night, nice hotel clean and staff friendly
Very plesasant check in process with very friendly staff. Room was pleasant and warm air conditioning was on upon arrival. Bottle of still and sparkling water complimentary in the room Great buzz in the bar Breakfast was very busy but plenty of hot food and good selection of cereals and fruit and plenty of newspapers available again the waiting staff vdery friendly and the coffee was hot and plentiful
Very comfortable room & bathroom. Bar was nice & lobby was busy throughout our stay so there was a nice buzz around the place.
This was once one of Dublin's finest hotels. Nowadays, it's looking a little shabby round the edges. The bar meal I had on the evening I stayed recently was average at best, while the buffet breakfast was no better. The small double room I was allocated was fine for one, but would have been a little small for two by modern standards, and the bathroom was barely even adequate for one. Staff however, were very friendly and helpful, more so than in the hotel's heyday, so perhaps it hasn't been such a bad thing that it has lost its air of superiority? At the price Roomex offered, it was good value, and of course 'The Burlo' is in a great position.
As a long term customer of the Burlington I have to say my say that my stay this time was very poor. Firstly we had booked in a Double Standard - Bed And Breakfast (Bed and Breakfast) and we were sent to a twin room from where we had to change....no great problem. However the room we did stay in No. 325 was adjacent to an air conditioning unit which continually tripped in all night. I took a reading of 35db noise level on my smart phone which is completely unacceptable. On checking out I was not asked if my stay was ok. I did inform the receptionist about the noise and she apologised ...scribbled down 325 on a piece of note paper and said she would report the issue. Having had little or no sleep I did not follow up on the day as both my wife and I were extremely upset and stressed enough at that stage. I would ask that you use your offices to rectify this.
Recently stayed 4 nights. Room very comfortable, very attentive staff and food was top class. Will definitely try to make this our first choice when coming to Dublin.
great hotel, lovely rooms, easy parking, walking distance from city centre.friendly staff.
A disappointment. I drove my boyfriend and I up from Cork for a weekend in Dublin last friday and we were looking forward to a bit of luxe staying in the Burlington. How wrong we were, from being turned away at the gate because the 4 star hotel with self proclaimed ample parking was full things were really not as we expected at all. Being told to drive around and find somewhere to park on the roads outside around the hotel was infuriating, and this was the message we got from multiple staff members who just didn't seem to care at all. We were shown to our rooms and again, it had NO relation to anything shown on the hotel's website, the room was shabby with a TV that didn't work, peeling wall paper and cornicing around the ceiling as well as generally being cold. I mean you start to be concerned about the state of a hotel room when it has a portable heater next to the bed. On the plus side the water pressure in the shower was good and the breakfast was tasty but everything else was a massive disappointment and I would not be returning or I would not be recommending the hotel at all.
stay in Burlington regularly because of its convenient location. Staff are always very pleasant and helpful and the general ambience very relaxing
Great hotel, couldn't fault it. Wud return for the breakfast alone!! Delicious. Reasonable parking rates which is a major bonus for a city centre hotel.
chose this hotel because of its location in dublin. Nice hotel with great bar that has great bar food. breakfasts were good and the rooms were very spacious and very clean, check in and out was very prompt.
My wife and I have stayed in the Burlington on previous occasions and based on that and the reasonable price we are making the Burlington our preferred hotel in Dublin. The hotel is centrally placed, on many bus routes including Airlink, has a readily accessible taxi rank outside, has clean well heated rooms with everything one needs including excellent beds. In addition to this the staff are very friendly and in particular we must pick out the gentleman who directs people to their tables at breakfast time. He is extremely courteous, helpful and friendly without in any way being intrusive. The Burlington is lucky to have such an outstanding employee. Well done .
absolutly excellent great customer service; fab breakfast.met some americans in the lift and they sang the praises of the staff and the hotel .it is because of staff and hotel that i come back to stay could not pass it for excellence .
Stayed at the Burlington as we were going to the Ieland V South Africa rugby match in the Aviva. All positive from our point of view, room lovely, staff very friendly, 15 minute walk to the match which was great. Had he bar food which was very tasty. The only negative was the parking which was very very hard to find.
Very happy with the stay overall. The reception foyer / bar area is very nice and relaxing. Bedrooms are getting slightly run-down and breakfast was only ok but overall would definitely stay again.
This is an excellent hotel in a good, central location with ample city centre car parking. Very good reception experience and comfortable rooms. The bar is spacious and the staff are friendly and professional. Only one small gripe. They should stock non alcoholic drinks for those who are driving.
Booked a triple room here for a graduation. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the lobby was beautiful but our room fell far short of what we expected from a 4-star hotel. The bathroom door handle was hanging off the door, holes and very deep scratches were in the wood and walls. It was also very chilly as the window didn't seem to close fully and was draughty. Although the room was for 3, only 2 sets of things were put out so we had to call reception and ask for more (cups, tea, towels etc.) However the staff were very obliging about this. We had breakfast included and it was very well done. Waitresses were lovely and food was very tasty with a great selection. So staff were excellent, food was quite good and room was disappointing.
Im usually happy with this hotel, good location, easy parking.
There was a party of five so we had 1 triple room and 1 twin room. The people in the triple room had to request another room as there were issues with the shower which was unsightly and not up to standard. I was in the twin room where again the shower was a problem in that it was not much more than a trickle. Because of time constraints we did not make a complaint. Other than that the room was very comfortable and the breakfast the following morning was excellent.
I have stayed in the Burlington many times in the past and have always found it to be a very well run establishment and always with excellent staff. I hope the potential new owners try and recreate the old 'Egyptian' bar that was sadly removed a few years back.
A very good hotel in an excellent location only 15 to 20 minutes walk from the city centre. Reception and bar staff very good at their job and very friendly. We really enjoyed our brief stay and look forward to returning.
I stayed at The Burlington with my 7 year old grand daughter Katie. It was her first time staying in Dublin as she lives in Chicago with her mom. It was special because I had stayed at your hotel when my daughter was little also and it brought back many memories. WE had a great time, the reservation process was simple and efficent, our check in was great, our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. We were able to get to our shopping destinations and to the zoo easily and I would have to say it was a most enjoyable experience.
Are stat was fabulous horse show week is away very busy, all staff made so much effort to Help use in anyway! Also a huge credit to there staff was the Maitre,D at breakfast, a gentleman!
Room ok, clean etc. TV went off when watching Olympics approx 11pm. Kettle also not functioning. Having contacted reception a male came to fix it,couldn't, went away came back still unable to sort despite instructions throuh phone. Said someone was coming as he left again. We left approx 11.30am following day and no repairs had taken place. I had a similiar experience in this hotel a number of years ago and was told that it was 'normal'. Breakfast was good, however we were directed to an annexe off main dining room, despite many tables there being free. It felt as if we were segegated and wonder if this was based on price/ booking method.
Have stayed at the Burlington on a number of occasions and this was the first time I was disappointed. On arrival we found we had been assigned a twin instead of a double room. We were given an available double room (Room 235) which has no air conditioning, was noisy and the shower didn't work. On the second day we were moved to a much nicer room on the 5th floor which was very nice and what one would expect from a 4 star hotel.
Great stay and the burlington. Very convenient hotel with every facility possible. Super breakfast with loads of choice and very friendly staff. Couldn't have been better.
I found my stay in the Burlington to be very good. The service was very good and a really lovely breakfast. Only negative was that the hotel car park was full on the evening of my stay and therefore i had to use on street meter parking which was a hassle. Overall I was very happy.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Burlington Hotel. The staff were always helpful and very knowledgeable. The hotel is spotlessly clean and in an excellent location for the city centre and to the RDS where we were atttendind a concert. The bar is bright and cheerful, with an excellent and not over priced menu. The room was comfortable and had all the requirements we needed. Finally we had a beautiful buffet breakfast on the morning and came to the conclusion of a lovely stay.....highly recommended !
We had a superb stay at this hotel .Both the staff and service were excellant .There is a great buzz around this hotel and we had the4 most enjouable stay .The food in the restaurent and food boot was excellent. The location is ideal, in a nice leafy suburb of Dublin, walking distance of the City and the Luas.I would recommend this to a friend and shall stay again if I were staying in Dublin.
extremely enjoyable weekend, first class staff, extremely friendly and accomodating would recommend this hotel
The common areas of the Burlington while showing some wear are quiet nice. The lobby, bar and breakfast room are stylish and have a nice atmosphere but they are showing signs of needing up dating and this is indicative of the condition of the rest of the hotel. The lifts are ponderously slow and twice I saw the doors almost close on people. Our room was on the 6th floor, the corridor to our room was in need of painting and the carpet was very stained, an ominous sign as to what lay ahead. The room we were in was possibly one of the most disappointing rooms i've stayed in. The decor was shabby and dated to the point that the curtains had faded from there original purple to a dirty brown. The tiles in the bathroom were cracked, and the grout was stained the shower rail was rusty. There were water stains on the ceiling and the air conditioning was so loud we had to shout over it to be heard. The TV was possibly an antique practically took up more space than the bed which was very small, i'm not even sure it was a full double. It was not a hotel room to enjoy a romantic getaway in. The really shocking revelation is that this is the room we were moved to after complaining about the filthy state of the first one. I don't feel The Burlington Hotel offers value for money or even resembles a 4 star hotel.
A most comfortable room, excellent breakfast and convenient to the city
The hotel was lovely, very clean and a fabulous breakfast.Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Though the room is more than adequate and to a high enough standard I found the staff slightley condesending and boardering on rude both at check-in and check-out. Breakfast closed an hour early because they were 'not busy' we were the last to be allowed in and they were removing food as we sat down. When we left they were turning people away who'd clearly paid for breakfast and come down within the normal time. Due to staff attitudes I won't be staying again.
The hotel reception area, lounge bar and restaurant are faultless unfortunately dont think our room reflected that. The room decor was tired and shabby and there was no air conditioning which proved to be a problem. Had to sleep with curtains and windows opened. The staff did provide a fan.
Although staying for only on night (on a business trip), my overall impressions one of a very well-managed hotel, very good business facilities, excellent food, polite and efficient staff.
Great location, very helpfully staff, and good food.
Lovely hotel and would highly recommend. From moment entered until when left, felt really welcomed. Staff customer service is the best which have experienced in a long time. Very friendly and very courteous, customer service is top of everyone's priority. Staff are a credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is very spacious, which unusual for city centre hotel, a beautiful and relaxing loby. Rooms lovely and recently decorated. Bar food very tasty. Would definetly recommend.
Great value for triple room for westlife concert. Staff were lovely and very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Would stay again.
very nice stay, fab breakfast buffet available. will stay there again next time i'm in Dublin!
Lovely hotel, very busy which is a good thing as it must be popular. Even though it was busy, this didnt interfere with noise levels at night. slightly further out of the centre then i wouldve liked but the price was good. About fifteen min walk min to centre. buses by trinity got you to the hotel in minutes. Breakfast was lovely with good choices available. Room was nice, a little too warm but lovely bathroom and comfortable bed
While the room we were allocated was clean, it did not have air conditioning. The mini bar in the room was also faulty and blew out warm air.... the additional heat made the room very uncomfortable. We did inform the hotel, but a mobile fan was all that was offered. Additionally we found the staff very abrubt, esp at breakfast and the buffet closed exactly on time... be warned... the toaster was turned off and the door closed over, with my toast trapped in the toaster forever!!!!
hotel way very nice, super location with very friendly staff.
Clean, modern hotel. Staff were friendly, Breakfast was lovely
Our stay at the Burlington hotel over the weekend was great. We have often stayed in the burlington and every time it has been excellent. The whole hotel is fantastic. It was a very relaxing weekend. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Our first room the bed was'nt big enough as I am pregnant and there was no problem changing us to another room. The room we had was lovely and clean and tidy and cool at night, not like in other hotel swhere you become very hot at night. The food in the burlington both in the Restaurant and in the lobby was delicious. I would recommend staying there to anyone.
Hotel was nice, but room I stayed in badly needed some refurbishment. Breakfast was good.
Overall experience was grand
Enjoyed our stay here very much. Lovely location with nice restaurants and bars. Great reception area and spotless rooms, all for an excellent price. Would recommend it.
Lobby, bar and downstairs lovely. Rooms a bit dated but clean. Good breakfast with no wait. Food and staff in lobby were great. First room we had was under fitness centre and you could hear them running on treadmill, but we asked to be moved and next room was very quiet. Would stay here again as convenient location and no parking charges although same advertised.
The rooms were spacious and modern decor, flat screen TV and usual Tea and coffee facilities, bathroom is a bit small. Ate in Bar on one occasion and had to send back Steak as it came out cold but the place was very busy at the time as their was a function on but when you are charging top prices the quality of the food and service has to match, would have probably eaten there more often if my initial experience had been better so first impressions do count when it comes to food. Overall a good experience though, nice hotel with friendly courteous staff and would stay there again.
Could not fault anything about the burlington dublin fantastic breakfast and staff
loved THE HOTEL, THE STAFF, AND ALL THE GOOD SERVICES THANK YOU
The Burlington is a great hotel in a great location. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very nice and spotlessly clean. My only complaint was the temperature in the rooms. I didn't sleep well because of the heat..
beautiful hotel and staff
Had a pleasant stay in Burlington Hotel. Staff were very courteous & accommodating.Lovely interior & had loads of choices for breakfast.
We were attending a Christmas party .The rooms were shabby and the heat was turned off when we arrived. The food on the night was awful and the breakfast was no better. The bar/floor/security staff had a degree in ignorance. The venue was also overcrowded to the point of concern for one's safety had there been an emergency. This is the second year that we used this venue ,last year was poor ( had to move rooms 3 times ) We were told at the time that the problems we had were due to some renovations that were taken place at the time. The venue is convenient for us so we decided to use it again having been assured that it would be up to standard this year. BIG MISTAKE This Hotel falls well short of it's 4 Star rating .
Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were very helpful and courteous at reception and in the bar area. Room was very comfortable and clean.
very good stay. very clean and friendly hotel. Breakfast selection should be topped regularly - no pastries left when we arrived for breakfast at 10am.
brilliant brilliant - staff brilliant food brilliant everthing brilliant thanks roomex
Found staff at the Burlington very helpful. I arrived at 8 p.m. all car park spaces were gone as there was a party night on the concierge kindly lifted the barrier and allowed me park in a reserved spot which I was very grateful for. The hotel itself I found to be very shabby for a four star hotel e.g. chips out of coffee tables in reception and frayed carpet in breakfast room. It felt a little bit on the grubby side. My room was a little cold but clean and fairly basic for four star. Breakfast was very good and location to city centre was excellent.
We stayed for one Saturday night and found the stay ok. The reception area was good with friendly and helpful staff. However our room was not ready (this was 2.30 in the afternoon). The room when we got there was adequate for our needs. We had a snack at the bar but found the food to be pricy. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety for all tastes. Location meant a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to Grafton street or €8 taxi ride Roomex secured an excellent overnight rate for us which more than compensated for any shortcomings we encountered. Overall the Burlington was a good location for our stay.
Staying at the Burlington was great. It is conveniently located, the airbus stops right in front, nice and welcoming reception and lovely bar with friendly personnel. Disadvantages: no vegetarian food in the restaurant and we had room nr. 400, which was a very, very long way from the reception. The room itself was perfect though. Good beds and pillows. Very good price/quality ratio.
I stay in the Burlington Hotel everytime I visit Dublin as its location is excellent and have never had a bad experience. This visit was the the same except for some minor incidents. Upon arrival I was surprised to find that the Carpark was full and even though I was a resident of the hotel this did not mean I was entitled to parking space. Luckily another car was leaving just as we were talking to the Parking attendant and I was able to get a space. The only other bad experience this time was that the bar staff were extremely poor. The service was unbeliveably slow so much so that we left immediately after the first drink. Everything was great, The room was fine and the breakfast was superp. I will be staying in the Burlington again but the next time I will be bypassing the hotel bar and heading straight to Baggot Street.
Overall our stay in the Burlington was very good. The room was nice and we got a good deal. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of choices. The staff were also nice. The only criticism I would make was that the front desk could not be contacted at 4.30am when we were lying awake listening to a group of lads singing very loadly in the corridor for ages, it would have been good if someone could have just come up and moved them on. I did mention this to the staff at the front desk when we were leaving the next morning
This is in a nice part of the city, not too noisey, well serviced with public transport, and not too far away, walking distance to St. Stephens Green. When we checked in the guy on the desk was extremely polite, and our room was really nice, fine big comfortable bed, and tea making facilities. Breakfast in the morning was great too, definitely will be back here to stay!
nice hotel with a lovely room
We really enjoyed our quick stay at this hotel, up for the Dublin City Marathon. You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way all 4 star hotels should be. Staff very friendly and helpful at reception.
Have stayed here many times and never had any real problems, however I did notice this time that there are far too many breakfast items put out at one time, consequently some of it becomes a little dried out during the last hour of breakfast (especially the bacon, black pudding, and eggs. Having said that, the breakfast, choice, and quantity of everything is still very good. A few other plus points are the speed of the lifts (compared to some others), and the relaxing feel of the lobby, with plenty of sofa chairs to chill out with a coffee and people watch! Still MUCH preferred the old bar, before it became Bellini's.
Very enjoyable stay. Nothing you could fault really.
My wife and I really enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Burlington Hotel recently. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The food was really good. The room was spacious and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting a good hotel in Dublin.
Very clean and comfortable. Close to city centre.
Hotel was great, food fantastic, only complaint was the bed was old and sloped toward the middle.
Really enjoyed my stay in the burlington, lovely busy hotel with a great atmosphere, friendly professional staff, comfortable clean rooms, funky bar with tasty food will be visiting again very soon.
I have stayed in the Burlington Hotel on many occasions and have always found it to be very satisfactory. On this occasion there was a constant loud noise from the bathroom vent and which could not be turned off. This made sleep extremely difficult. It was room 607. I completed a customer rating card for the hotel and left it at reception. Otherwise everything was to my satisfaction. On my last occasion using the hotel the t.v. in the room wasnt working.
Accommodation was adequate Breakfast was very limited. Very little choice for non meat eaters. No yogarts, cheeses no brown bread. Offered no healthy eating options. Breakfast options very poor.
One night stay. Clean, comfortable room, walking distance to city centre.
Check in was satisfactory. Hotel nice and bar staff friendly. Fire at hotel which was no fault of the staff but on check out there was no apology and no compensation. I feel the least the hotel could have done was apologise as we were left in the car park during the early hours of 31st Aug for a few hours..and perhaps offer a discount voucher or free stay...Is this a 4 star hotel???
Staff were superb, food great, room fab. Looking forward to going back.
The rooms were excellent and of a very high standard, especially given the price paid. Hotel was ideally located for our requirements and facilities in the hotel were also very good. Compliementary parking was an added bonus. The only issue was rooms were not ready when we tried to check in at 2pm even though 2 O'Clock check in had been confirmed by phone in advance. Overall a very enjoyable experience and have recommended your site to others.
Rate was reasonable with free parking. Room was clean with air conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities.
Excellent value and excellent service in a premier hotel - a long time favourite going back 35 years since I first availed of and enjoyed its facilities.
Stayed in The Burlington in August 2011. Superb value with Roomex.com. Breakfast was excellent. Room facilities were very good. Would have liked to have safe and fridge in the room we were in on this visit. We ate from the bar restaurant and would definitely recommend for good food and value. Would definitely return.
Stayed in the Burlington for the Dublin Horse Show. Lovely hotel, room was very clean, maybe a little too warm. Staff all very friendly. Great service for the horse show with free buses to the RDS grounds.
Burlington Hotel. We stay here anytime we are in Dublin. We don`t consider anywhere else. Standards are always high. Staff friendly and helpful.Location very good. Car parking a plus too.
I found this hotel to be great value at less than €90 on a bank holiday Sunday for a double room with breakfast and overnight parking. As we were heading to Croke Park, we arrived at 11AM and called to reception to inform them that we would check in later and that we had parked the car. They offered to check us in there and then, and had a room ready within 10mins. The room was very clean and fresh, with flat screen TV, proper double bed and a good selection of toiletries. Although it wasn’t an issue for me, it did not have air conditioning facilities. The hotel is located in within walking distance of the city centre, and we had no issues with walking back late at night. The breakfast was a self service buffet and ran until 10:30, there was a good selection of food, but there was a bit f a wait for the self toaster. Overall we found the staff to be very plesant and helpful. Having stayed in some of Dublin's other landmark hotels, I would consider this one to be top of the pile and would definitely stay again.
My Husband and I stayed in the Burlington last week for two nights and Really enjoyed the service in the hotel. The rooms were clesn and fresh and the bed was extreamly comfortable. Will return and would recommend it to others.
All round Excellent Package from Roomex and in turn the Burlington, Staff were extremely courteous. Very Happy made for a great Break.
We enjoyed pur stay in the burlington hotel as usual
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for the Bon Jovi concert. The reception was lovely and clean, the staff behind the desk were very polite and helpful. Our room was about 5 minutes away after we got out of the elevator, making it ideal to go back to for a bit of peace. You couldn't fault the room in any way, it was spotless and really comfortable, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
Second time staying at the Burlington. Hotel clean, free parking, staff very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are standard, a little bit under the **** ranking imo (for instance, I spent a few days before in the BallsBridge, a *** hotel that outperforms this one in all aspects). However, no major defect, except the very weak WiFi signal (I had to go in the lobby to make skype phone calls).
staff was very friendly and helpful
My sister booked a room for the same night. She got a room on a different floor- it was lovely and modern with a safe and a mini fridge, more spacious and comfortable seating. We got put in a room on the fifth floor that was older with none of the above and a disabled bathroom. I don' know why. Therefore we didn't have a bath, which I was looking forward to. Doesn't seem fair
Good hotel, Great Location, Great Breakfast.
Room was extremely hot. Alot of noise from outside the hotel. Very expensive for grub. Staff not great.
Have stayed here on several occasions in the past so am pretty familiar with the hotel. So far, everytime I have stayed there I have been happy with the hotel. Rooms are always nice and clean. Although, for some reason our mini bar wasn't stocked. Staff are friendly and helpful. There was a bit of confusion with our booking to begin with, but it was sorted quickly with no major inconvenience. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone. It is clean, tidy and with friendly staff, a car park and in a great location.
Hotel was fine for the night, staff friendly, food in the resturaunt was nice. thought the breakfast could have been a little better. The sausages were a little over cooked and shrivled and there was not home made brown bread. Room was very clean and comfortable. I will stay again.
We enjoyed our two night break in the heart of Dublin. Hotel was bright, clean and spacious. Reception staff very quick, courteous and polite as were all staff we encountered. The banqueting hall and reception area were well laid out. There was a good choice of food in the hotel, however the one fault was that food was cold reaching the table. We attended a function in the hotel on one of the nights and again the food did not reach the standards of all other areas of the hotel. I would certainly use the hotel again as it is central and within walking distance of all city centre attractions. However I may be enclined to dine elsewhere.
good solid hotel
Overall very happy with the room and breakfast was excellent. I would have rated it superb were it not for the carpet in the hallway upstairs having a huge hole in it from general wear and tear. It felt like I was being shoved down a backalley of the hotel (though the room was very nice once I got to it)
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Burlington hotel. Breakfast was delicious. We had reserved a double room but got a twin bedded room - the hotel was full as it was the weekend Take That played at Croke Park. It was very clean and we loved the area. The bus from O'Connell St stopped outside the hotel and we got the bus from the Burlington to Dromcondra.
This was our first time staying at the Burlington and we were not dissappointed. From the minute we stepped inside the door we were very well looked after. Everything was perfect. Lovely athmosphere, very nice room. Breakfast was delicious. Great facilities. We will deffinately be back.
Although I stay in Dublin Quite a lot I had never stayed at the Burlington. I honestly expected it to be better. My instant thought on driving in was average and my room on floor two was nice but i needed more lighting in room or bathroom to do make up so had to retreat to main bathroom.... This normally wouldnt be a major issue but it was a big event. I stayed the folowing night via.roomex at the best rate ever even though I had combed the internet. I did ask to change the room on the following nite as there was a generator going all nite on floor two so was moved to four floor. So overall I would recommend the burlington
We enjoyed our stay in the Burlington. the staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and comfortable. We have stayed in the Burlington a few times before, we find it very central to Dublin city and will definately make a return visit.
Very comfortable, room, nice and quiet, and very clean. Staff very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel
The hotel was great, really enjoyed our stay!
Easy check in. Parking validated for guests. Friendly receptions staff. Clean room. Nothing to fault except bed a bit firm but thats personal taste. Breakfast buffet lovely, fresh fruit delicious.
Lovely Hotel, with great prices from Roomex. The Burlington still has that 4-star quality with 3 star prices.
Stay here reqularly on trips to Dublin , decor bit faded in some rooms but re-furbished rooms are very modern and sleek, cleanliness, facilities, and staff are excellent, the breakfasts are amazing, great selection and wonderful breakfast room.
very pleased wit the hotel .staff very helpful and friendly .A member of our party was disabled and found the staff most helpful .Only down side a bit far out from the city centre ,and you know us ladies love to shop
Usual pleasurable stay at the Burlington. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Preferred room allocated as requested in booking email. Definitely stay here again when in Dublin next. Many thanks.
This is the 2nd time i stayed in the hotel and i have to say 2nd time round was a great experience. The room was nice and big, it was modern and clean. I also find some hotels the room can get very warm at night but did not have this problem with the Burlington. Excellent location only 15mins walk into the city centre. The Burlington will now be 1 of my 1st choices for staying in Dublin because of this and the best part is it is great value for money
Very enjoyable stay But restaurant closed on Monday 17 th may so had to go out for our dinner Bar service very poor, Not enougnh staff so long waits for reordering Superb RAGUS show
This is one the best hotels in Dublin and the Roomex rate I got was fantastic. Highly recommended.
Except the the food was questionable and not of the standard expected for a 4 star hotel. Rooms was were lovely and staff seemed pleasant enough
Clean and comfortable
A top class hotel with lovely staff. Great value and a great atmosphere.. I will visit again :-)
We had a very pleasant stay at the Burlington. We had requested an eary check-in and the hotel receptionist dealt with this promptly and efficiently. The room was clean, comfortable beds, good food, while staff throughout were friendly and helpful. Our stay was for just one night but most enjoyable and look forward to returning.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights bed and breakfast with one evening meal. It was excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was of good quality and I realy enjoyed the mussels and seabass for the evening meal. The room was comfortable and clean. Parking facilities were complimentry which is a bonus when staying in Dublin. It location is good and it is a nice 15 min walk to St. Stephens green. I would definately recommend this hotel if you are looking for value for money for a weekend in Dublin.
Beautiful Hotel, rooms excellents. Staff helpful and very obliging. Even to letting me know where to get the bus into town. Nothing was to much trouble. I do hope to stay there again and will certainly recommend your hotel to others.
Stay most enjoyable. Staff and overall service excellent.
Rooms were basic but clean. Staff were friendly. Location was pretty good. Parking was free which was excellent, overall value for money was good.
I had a lovely relaxed few days and the hotel and staff were excellent. I thought it quite special that the lovely Nuala in the dining room was able to conjure up a MUG. Now there is a real person for you but it was just typical of all the staff.
This was a most enjoyable few days as the hotel itself was satisfactory in every respect but the staff really made it for us. From the reception staff ,I did not get names, who were most efficient and courteous and gave the impression that everything was under control all the time and nothing was any problem. The men at concierge always had a smile for everybody and one really felt welcome on entering. I would particularly comment on the dining room staff who were most helpful and friendly and seemed to enjoy "going the extra yard" to make our stay that bit nicer. I would pay particular tribute to Nuala and Tom in the dining room who were very good to us. Wishing them the very best,
Hotel was lovely and clean, staff were friendly. Rooms were very warm espcially in the morning. Great value for money, would stay again.
The Burlington is one of those hotels where you can sit and watch the world go by. It is a large cosmopolitan hotel that is always bustling with activity in a low key sort of way. I have stayed there on and off going back many years and I was a bit apprehensive this time that it might have changed for the worst as I know it has had a change of ownership in recent years. Not at all, it was even better than ever. The rooms and public areas were very well maintained and the service was excellent. Above all the Burlington has the unique atmosphere of a long established Dublin hotel. I managed to book bed and breakfast for a very reasonable price through Roomex. I would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.
Lovely room luxury hotel great location
Very centrally located, room comfortable & clean. Staff friendly. We were in Dublin for the nite to meet friends so it was ideal. Would definately stay again.
stay in hotels a lot thoughout ireland - never stayed in Burlington previously for years, usually stay in others - I was very impressed, lovely food, noice relaxing foyer and sitting area and free internet access from room with cable provided ( this was not present but delivered to room immediqatly upon request. Reasonable priced via internet booking and I will certainly be back the actual room is outdated and average only - soft mattress, unconfortable - could be replaced!!!!
Enjoy our one stay and would return for a night or two that the Fine Gael Party would not be there, not a fine gael support but that didnt bother us one bit. Would return to this hotel was very convient for our need to visit mother in law in St. Lukes Hospital.
Room was comfortable and clean. Fantastic breakfast selection. Overall great value.
A very pleasant stay as always! Lovely rooms and comfortable beds with a fantastic breakfast selection!
Breakfast was included in our overnight rate. We ordered it to our room the night before. It was supposed to arrive at 10.30. At 11.10 it sill hadn't arrived, we rang reception and were told that it was very busy and we would have to wait, it could take 15 mins or half an hour. We were alarmed at the attitude of the receptionist. Breakfast didn't arrive. We mentioned it when we were checking out, both receptionists we spoke to at that stage were very apologetic. We weren't happy as breakfast was included in our rate but we didn't receive it. We never experienced this in any other hotel.
Hotel was fine but restaurant food was disappointing. I would stay again but I would definitely eat out.
The front Lobby of the hotel deserves the 4 stars that this hotel has but I'm afraid once you go up the lifts to the rooms you leave those stars behind. The concierge was very friendly and helpful, the rest of the staff could learn a few things from him.We were located on the second floor, the room was basic and in need of refurbishment. The heating was on up full so we guessed if we turned the knob on the radiator the opposite direction then it would turn off, which it finally did. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the carpet was thread bare in places. But it was clean other than that, there's only so much the cleaners can do with these old rooms! The beds were clean and comfortable. That night when we tried to go to sleep we heard, Thump Thump Thump of the music below us. I rang reception and was informed that the music stopped around 2am, this turned out to be closer to 4am. He checked the system but the only rooms left were in the same area we were already in but he said he would pass on the information to his manager in the morning. I never heard back from the manager the next day. Our neighbours were obviously at the function and nearly came through the paper thin walls into our room, I would not have felt safe if staying there alone. Security was called to another room on our corridor as well. I got up early to take a shower after no sleep and the water was brown! Seemingly the water was cut off overnight for conservation but nobody was informed and reception staff were less than helpful. Breakfast was great and we really enjoyed the coffee! Back to the rooms and had a quick, shower just before checkout but the water was still slightly brown and prone to turning scalding hot at times. Overall I would not recommend this hotel unless you are guaranteed a new room away from all function rooms and nightclubs!
We spent a weekend in Dublin for our wedding anniversary and had a very pleasant stay in the Burlington Hotel. The staff were very friendly and even upgraded us to an executive rooom for our anniversary. We had some very good food in the very stylish bar with breakfast on both mornings very fulfilling with a wide selection to choose from including the traditional fry, cereal, meat and cheeses and a fine selection of breads and preserves. The room was very clean with temperature controls allowing to regulate the heat in the room. Bathroom was very clean and if I had to pick one thing out I'd say that two single beds stuck together does not make a double bed!!! a large crack down the middle of the beds also develops over night which is not the best for creating an atmosphere on an aniversary weekend!!!. There is a very nice 10-15 minute walk to the top of Grafton Street through St.Stephen's Green or a short taxi drive down to O'cnnel street. In general we had a very enjoyable stay in the Burlington and would definitely return again.
To whom it concerns, I must admit that my experience over my 3 night stay was fantastic and i believe the value was outstanding, environment was great as it's set up in a way to meet loads of interesting people. The food was also very good and as i spend a bit of time on the south side of Dublin i will be staying again in the near future and of course i will book through Roomex.
We were in Dublin for a show in the 02. The hotel was excellent. Staff were friendly, very helpful and professional. Rooms are very well equiped, breakfast was wonderful and the car park is free - all in all a great experience.
A really lovely hotel, with very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was a little bit out from the city centre so we did have to get taxis which was our own fault for being lazy!! We would definitely stay there again!!
The Staff, food, and drink were lovely. The staff seemed to be all trained to a very high standard, making it impossible to pick an exceptional staff member. The room was adequate but the bathroom was shocking for a hotel in it's class! Tiles were falling off the wall and the grouting was mouldy and dirty looking. The carpets and walls in the corridors on the 2nd floor were tatty!
Excellent stay and service at the hotel. When we asked re. lunch and where available to take it, (as the bar seating-area appeared full), the check-in person went to the bar area and he found us an ideal, free table. Very attentive and professional service.
Nice hotel. Check in staff very nice and friendly. Great location within walking distance of Stephens Green. Breakfast buffet was nice. Overall,I would recommend this hotel especially as I got a very good deal on roomex.com.
Still a great hotel with a good buzz about it. parking is a key benefit against many hotels closer to the city centre. Only a short taxi ride to stephens green.
We travelled to Dublin for the Ireland rugby international and there is only one place to stay and thats the Burlington. I stayed there about 10 years ago and as soon as i walked into the lobby the memories came flooding back. So did the tears of my wife but thats another story. The Hotel itself is fantastic. From the roaring fire in the Lobby, Bellini's Bar, the great rooms and the fry the next morning. Everything you could ask for and then some. Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Craic !
The rooms and accomidation are a little dated but are spotless. The lobby and bar area has got a complete make over since I was there a few years ago. When we were there there was a great buzz in the bar. The breakfast is superb
Great hotel with great staff. Top class breakfast.
It was very easy to hear people in adjoining rooms, particularly when it was a group of teenage girls on one side and a couple arguing very loudly at 1:30am. I was not very happy as I was in Dublin to do the marathon the following morning so 5 hours sleep was not ideal. However after 2 nights of this these people checked out and subsequent nights were generally quieter. The bathroom ceiling and grouting around the bath were very mouldy and could do with some repair. The room was generally comfortable and well cleaned. Breakfast was fantastic.
We had a really enjoyable stay in the Burlington Hotel. The staff were very pleasent and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy and very spacious with a nice view of the Dublin mountains. We had some food at the Bellini bar which was very nice but a little expensive . After a good nights sleep we had a delicious breakfast which was freshly made and there were no queues or delays in recieving it. Overall I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good quality hotel in a central location in Dublin. Well done the Burlington Hotel !
We stayed in the Burlington because we were attending a function there. We were very happy with the whole experience, the pleasant efficiency of receptionist, the nice room on the 6th floor which had a wonderful view across the south city to the mountains and breakfast next morning.
A super deal from Roomex- almost 100 euro less than the hotel's own rate. Great breakfast - the muesli and yogurt was Swiss in it's flavour, the pastry true Danish and the bacon, sausage and egg was the full Irish. We got plenty of exercise as our room was no 701 and only room 700 was further away from reception. But I'd go back at this price so keep up the bargains.
Fab stay. Room was the perfect size. Bedlinen was fresh & clean. Whole room was spotless. My only quibble is that I would prefer a stronger shower. Perfect central location
The exterior and lobby, public areas were very pleasant for this 4 star hotel. However, the rooms themselves we found very disappointing. Having booked a double room here, I called and asked if they could give us a nice room as it was a special occasion. The man I spoke with said he would see if he could upgrade us to a small suite. Arriving at the hotel, the room we were given was fairly small and very average with a view of a big grey dull carpark! When I asked about it, I was told to them (meaning the hotel) a nice room means on a higher floor! We were booked for two nights, so I asked for a different room for the second night. We were moved to a slightly bigger room with a view to the main street which was fine. The net curtains however had a big rip through them, from the top down to the center and looked very shabby- The towels in both rooms were worn to a thread, one actually had a hole in it. All in all, a very disappointing stay for a hotel which once had such a good reputation.
STAYED HERE FOR IRELAND RUSSIA GAME, EXCELLENT HOTEL, BUFFET BREAKFAST WENT DOWN A TREAT AND MET SOCCER LEGEND PAUL MCGRATH IN LOBBY TO CAP A GREAT STAY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, CHEERS
We booked this hotel as we were going to a concert in the O2. We found it very good value 79 euro for a double room inc breakfast. Room was fine and service at Breakfast was very efficient. Would recommend this hotel for a weekend break in Dublin. Very central the bus stop is outside the hotel the 46a bus will bring you off in Stephens Green. Plenty of taxis if you would prefer that type of transport.
had a fantastic stay for michael buble in Dublin friday 24th.. the staff could not have been nicer. the bar had an aftershow michael buble event and it was brillant. when we arrived on friday, we sat down at the lobby, watched the world go by while sipping on our coffees. Very elegant and feel good factor about hotel.! defo recommend a stay
We had a great service, great food and rooms were lovely. Hotel was very busy, had to que for breakfast on sunday morning as it was so busy which was the only down side. Hotel staff couldnt have been more helpful! we had a great stay
We really enjoyed our stay at the Burlington. Nice and quiet but still close to the city centre. Our room was clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
My room was as expected clean & well presented. Reception was friendly & efficient. Breakfast could have been better. The fruit & yogurts etc.. should have been at the start of the counter where one come into the room, but was located down at the far end which I did not notice till I was finished. Also the rashers were not hot enough. The scrambled egg sat in a container of hot water !
Whilst, I think the communal areas: lobby, bar etc., are 4*, I think the bedrooms are perhaps only 3*. That said, everything was spotless. The breakfast was superb & staff friendly. Free parking a definate plus. I would stay at this hotel again.
Everything went fine for my 2 night stay .... got a very good rate at last minute from Roomex for 2 (with Breakfast), despite fact that International Soccer match was on.
We really enjoyed our stay in the burlington hotel. The 2 rooms were well equipped and spotless with all the essential requirements. The childrens room had three beds and they found it great that they did not have to share a bed with each other. we had not planned eating there in the evenings but we found the bar food to be more than adequate with lots of choice,(even for our 18 year old vegetarian daughter). I would not hesitate to book with Roomex.com again because it is the way to go! Lastly we saved money by using them which was the biggest advantage when you are booking for 2 adults and 3 children for a few days away for a break. Thanks a mil, will be in touch again soon.
Very nice Hotel, staff were friendly. Good Location. The breakfast was very good with great choice. Only thing we would say was the room was basic enough but served its purpose!
The Burlington is a great hotel to stay in if attending an event at the RDS. Fast check in and out, lovely bar to have a drink before and/or after the event and beautiful breakfast!!
We enjoyed our stay in the Burlington and would definitely opt to stay there again ahead of many other hotels in the city. It's a very relaxed, comfortable and convenient base for many activities in Dublin. The accomodation was first-class and the meals were excellent. The only small quibble we would have concerns the service in the bar area, which we found to be quite slow. It's a beautiful big bar,but we felt that the people serving were not aware and alert to customer needs even when the bar was not that busy. Otherwise we had a great time and will be back again.
Was there for a conference and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
We enjoyed our stay in the Burlington. We stayed for one night in a triple room. The room was a bit crampled because it was obviously a twin room with a thrid bed squashed in. The room was clean if a bit old fashioned in the decor. The breakfast was lovely, large range of options available to cater for all tastes.
Hotel was excellent, rooms were a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. Hotel centrally located with easy access to city centre.
We found the Burlington a very welcoming hotel from the time we arrived. The staff are a credit too the hotel, they could not have been more helpfull and inviting.Stayed before and will return again, could not find a fault.
This hotel I'd say was the worst hotel all year I have stayed in through Europe and including Egypt ! I think the staff are catering for groups and forget their own individual customers . The attitute at reception was very bad and the room bathroom was grubby to say the least with corners of bottom door missing ! I had just returned the night before from a wonderful hotel in athlone and the smiles on all the staff when greeting you was infectious where on the other hand the staff at Burlington treated you as if you had an infection ! ! I have stayed in Dublin many times but I will never stay hare again this was a treat for my teenage daughter and she even commented on how bad things were. The staff need to remember that the Irish guests are justs as important as the groups from other countries !
We enjoyed our stay, we were there for an awards night but decided to stay for the second night as well. The room was basic enough could do with a bit of a revamp as some of the furniture was damaged but it was nice and clean. The bars in the hotel were quiet enough. We walked into the city (20 mins)as well as got taxis which there was always plenty of outside the hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful.
What can you say about the Burlington Hotel that has not been said before ? staying in Dublin the Burlington is the place to stay , never had a problem in all the times I've stayed there staff are excellant so helpful, just enjoy your stay !
By booking through Roomex I felt I obtained good value for money. This was an overnight stay for a business trip- the room was a decent size and comfortable, although the decor had seen better days. It was quite a walk to the lifts but then it is quite a large hotel. Breakfast which was included was excellent with a decent choice. My only concern really was the lack of car parking spaces and I had to wait for someone to leave to be successful. I would think that residents should be catered for first. Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel and in particular its location- recommended, especially if you can obtain a decent price! Will be here again.
Great hotel, nice location about 20 minutes walk to centre. Nice bars and cafes nearby also. Rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was included in the rate and the choice was excellent. Would reccomend and definitely stay here again.
Myself, my husband and teenage daughter stayed in the Burlington on 20th May. We would recommend the hotel highly. It was extremely good value for money and the staff were very nice. The lobby area is fabulous just to sit and have a coffee or a glass of wine and watch the 'world go by'. We would definitely stay there again. Also, the location is ideal for sight-seeing. Breakfast was fabulous.
had a lovely stay in this hotel my room was lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel was lively and very central to everything I have stayed here before and will definately return on my next visit to dublin
Very central to City, rooms ok.
Was given a double room at the back where it was quite. Room was good and had a bath and tea making facilities which was nice. Also had free internet connection. Breakfast was alaso good. Overall I would recommend The Burlington hotel.
I stayed in this hotel on the 17th of April 2010 after attending a ball in the hotel. The hotel room was clean with twin beds as requested. The hotel was fully booked due to teh function / concerts in Dublin and stranded tourist due to airport closures and yet there was no queue for reception as there was plenty of staff working. Two quick critism - there was a charge of €4.50 for a ice bucket - this seemed very expensive. Secondly some of the rooms are a long walk from the reception / lifts so for anyone staying that this might cause a problem for I suggest ringing in advance to ensure you are near the lifts. Hotel is very central, has a large bar. Well situated for concerts in Aviva/RDS/O2. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and would recommend to a friend.
We were in Dublin on a shopping trip/get-together. The hotel is close enough to town to walk as the weather was good. The hotel was great, we couldn't fault it. Room was good size with all the usual trimmings. On our return from dining out in town on Sat night, we enjoyed a few late drinks in the bar before retiring for a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Had a fantastic stay in The Burlington! I had 4 rooms in total booked and reception were really quick, organised and helpful in getting us checked into all 4 rooms. Quick shower and change and we were off out for the night. It was 2am when we arrived back and the residents bar was a hive of activity. After few drinks it was time to retire to our rooms where a comfotable bed awaited. Breakfast next morning was very good. Reception was really busy due to International rugby match the day before but check out was quick and easy due to staff being very efficient. We had coffe in lobby before we all went out seperate ways and to our enjoyment there was a group playing in bar beside us. It added great atmosphere and rounded off a great stay nicely!
The stay at the Burlington Hotel recently was superb. I stayed there many times when it was owned by the Doyle Group. However the Hotel has been refurbished, and looks brighter and has excellent staff in all departments, especially reception. I will definitaly go back the the Burlo again,
The Burlington is as good as ever ..... Great location, good service & Breakfast. Add in a very good Roomex price ... why stay anywhere else ?
The reception area and bar are extremely modern and very pleasant, however the drink prices are extremely over-priced in the bar compared to recent price drops in Dublin City Centre pubs , but maybe given the location of the hotel this is to be expected but I cannot see these prices doing the hotel any favours. The room we had was quite old but spotless and had an excellent shower. The 10-12 year old TV does nothing for the room which could do with being modernised. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very good. We arrived at 15.45 and our room still was'nt ready for check-in but this mas only a very minor issue. Overall I would be very satisfied, but if I had of paid the 5 star rates quoted on the door of the bedroom I would be far from satisfied with such an old fashioned room and late check in.
Appalling. Absolutely dreadful. I was put in a room next to 'guests' who were at their Christmas party in the Burlington. I was kept awake from 2 to 4 with shouting and fighting. I went to reception at 4 to say I was calling the police. I am a Company Director staying on business. I got no sleep at all as even when the noise subsided somewhat I could not get back to sleep. I was never asked if I was attending a function yet I was put in a room next to party revellers on all sides and across from me. No one apologised or evev asked about my stay the next stay. Please pass my comments on to the Burlington. Im disgusted. This hotel has gone downhill rapidly in my estimation.
I recently stayed in the Burlington with my fiancee. I have to say it was a most enjoyable experience. The first impression was great. Large, clean and bright reception area. The staff at the front counter were super friendly and most professional. Our room was large and spotless with a great shower. We ate in the bar and I have to say it was so tasty. Overall I would give this hotel 10 out of 10 and would return in the near future. If your looking for a good location(10 min walk from grafton st), great atmosphere and value for money you cant go wrong.
What can i say but the staff were so good and the stay was perfect
Room was over their main function room and was extremely noisy. The noise only died down at 4am.
As always our stay in the Burlington Hotel was very enjoyable, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was good!
My stay was in association with a Dinner for the Construction Industry. Room accommodation was good and the food at the function was very good. Any staff whom I encountered were very courteous.
nice room but sound proofinh inadequate, woke by noisy late night people coming home and having conversations in adjoining rooms and again early morning. It was a saturday night so propably to be expected but last stay was saturday with very little noise
Very satisfactory stay, room was lovely and comfortable
While the public area's of the hotel look good (Main entrance, Bar, Breakfast room) the rooms themselves were poor. The bathrooms were not clean and were worn looking - Tiles discoloured. The furniture was outdated but the beds were clean and comfortable. The location was fairly central. We found drinks in the bar very expensive but the bar staff were friendly. One particular member of receiption staff who seemed to be a supervisor was very rude and condescending. For this reason we would not stay again.
For many years always stayed in the Burlo when in dublin - when i booked this time i didnt expect the same standard as it was bought for changed development. it was very good standard - the changes to the restaurant and bar i liked. it was nice to meet some of the staff that i had build up a good relationship with over the many years when it was part of the Doyle group. Overall very good and would stay again
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were going to a party on Mount Street which was only a few mins away by taxi it cost €7. We went into Templebar to eat and it cost €7 by taxi, very convenient location. We went o the Toys for Big Boys exhibition and it was only 30 mins walk to the RDS. Very modern lobby, bar and Restaurant, all common areas were pristine. as were the rooms. I would recommend this hotel, we booked through Roomex and only paid €82.00 the cheapest place in Dublin to stay and I searched quite a few websites.
The Burlington is a nice hotel in many ways but some of the rooms are dated including the one we stayed in. The walls between the rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything. The problem appears to be the doors that sit in between the rooms. They are sealed closed, but it makes no difference. Also the shower in the bathroom was pretty annoying. There was plenty of power in it, but if you were taller than 5ft then you had to stoop down to get underneath it. The reception and the bar are very modern and nice places to be and there is an old world charm about the restaurant where we had our breakfast in the morning. Breakfast as it happens was a buffet and was pretty good. Thought it was a little strange that fried eggs had to be ordered as they are normally the most requested type of egg. They had poached and scrambled on the buffet. Access to the city centre from the hotel is perfect and you can be on Stephens Green within 15 mins walking. If they updated some of the rooms this would be a fabulous place to stay.
Had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel on 24/10/09.Having travelled to Dublin on a very wet and windy day,my partner and I and 2 of our friend's arrived to a very warm welcome from the very friendly and efficient staff. Room's were tastefully decorated and beds were quite big and v comfortable.Had a few drink's in the bar that night and enjoyed the conversation we had with a girl who work's behind the bar who is from Australia, she was most pleasant. Breakfast the following morning was served until 11am which gives u a chance to have a lie in. All hotel's should learn from this. Breakfast itself was lovely with a great variety to choose from. Would definatly stay at this hotel again.
Really lovely hotel. Beautifully decorated with superbly appointed rooms. The staff were extremly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The location of this hotel is the key selling point for out of town visitors this is one of the best located hotels that is in a reasonable price range..
Everything was spot on. although the bar very quite both nights.
Hi, I stayed in the Burlington in August 09. Fantastic location with 10 minute walk to St Stevens Green/Grafton Street. Overall it was a satisfactory experience. Everything and everywhere is very clean, but it is a little tired for 4 * Hotel, this would be an amazing hotel if rooms where renovated. Great Bar(but a little expensive), Nice breakfast but it could do with a little better service(in Ballroom). All in all enjoyed our stay in Dublin.
Great rooms, bar and reception areas. Staff are very friendly. No complaints.
We stayed there recently for a function and extended our stay by one night. The room was excellent, if a little far away, but in such a large hotel somebody has to be far away from the elevator. We were dissappointed to return to our room late one evening to find housekeepong staff had not even closed our door not to mind locking it. I was simply pulled out but off the latch. On speaking about it to other family members I was told it was a common occurance around the world, this is shocking and hotels must improve on their security if they are to stay in business.
the hotel was beautiful. the staff were all very friendly. we stood outside at 3 in the morning talking to the night manager who told us that it was also the best hotel he has ever worked in. there are very few hotels that i would say this about but i definatly will be staying there on my next trip to dublin.
I was in Dublin on business and for a social event. The location of the Hotel was just fine, parking was easy to use and ample. The service from the staff was excellent. Check in and check out was very efficient. The room was on the seventh floor, which was fine for me but maybe not for others. It was clean, warm and quite satisfactory, however i felt as though there could have been better rooms available. Breakfast again was satisfactory. Plenty of choice. My only fault was the plates were cold, so my hot breakfast was not hot for long. The service in the restaurant was very good. Overall it was a nice stay and would stay again.
Lovely spacious room, very good service and breakfast. Very pleased overall
Lovely to be back in the Burlington, Lovely hotel, helpful staff, Comfortable room, good value, and a lovely breakfast. I will definately stay again and recommend it to others on the basis of price and promimity to town alone but also as an enjoyable experience.
We attended a Dress Dance in the Hotel. We had a ball. The whole atmosphere was brillant. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was relaxing and the big bed was so spongy.
