We enjoyed our stay at the hotel but it was probably the worst ever view from hotel, room 3004. We were staying for 2 nights so a better view may have been appropriate and anticipated. The check in was excellent, room itself was very good and location very suitable for our needs. I needed a taxi for one day and the advice to wait outside as there was one there was not good. No marks for this as the taxi was originally empty and already booked. All told we would probably return but would also have expected breakfast for the rate we paid for two nights. Room for improvement.
Got a lovely room. Complimentary water with a great view from 7th floor. Good breakfast. Great value in heart of D4
I find that when I book the hotel through Roomex.com I get a very comfortable room.
Room could do with painting. Very disappointed with staff in the bar, very unprofessional, too busy talking among themselves than doing the job they are there for.
Absolutely beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Most comfortable beds and a pleasure to sleep in them. Best sleep for a long time! Evening meal was outstanding of roast duck and my friend had trout. She's still talking about her wonderful stay there. Breakfast was the best of any hotel I've stayed in and I've stayed in many. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
I stayed on the 8th floor. Rooms and furniture in particular are tired. I booked room only as it was over priced to begin with so I can't comment on food. Hotel seems very busy similar to a bus station I felt. Dublin prices too expensive for what you get. In fairness the reception staff were nice and helpful so thumbs up for them. I won't be staying again.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Ballsbridge Hotel - extremely close to the Aviva Stadium and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable - we couldn't fault our stay and enjoyed the whole experience.
The room was tremendously warm on the first night, even with the wind wide open in late October it was very hot. The subsequent nights it was good, the beds were fine. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. The parking was expensive, considering they boast about having it and it's a selling point, many dinged cars in there in the cramped parking spaces. The breakfast was mediocre, I have stayed in lower quality rated hotels and had better. The meats were edible, the non-meat items were not refreshed and went very hard/dried out as the heat was set very high. All in all, very poor, and sub-standard considering the massive price paid (that's the modern Dublin market though). Extremely disappointed as I had told my friends staying with me that the hotel was worth it, having stayed there multiple years for the Gaelcon convention and for visiting friends.
Room was lovely on the 3rd floor which we were given after we rejected room on the 1st floor which had a musty smell even with window open when we entered room. Bar food on the first night expensive and not great, we ate elsewhere the next night.
Room location at entrance doors and beside lift was not ideal as there was continuous movement of people. However for us it was only a one night stay and didn't ruin our stay. Lovely breakfast in morning and great match atmosphere.
The room and hotel was recently refurbished, the bathroom neat and clean. The staff were lovely , in particular, Carmel in the breakfast room, and the hall porter.Car parking is available and the location is excellent for walking, and is near Grafton Street.
Really efficient and pleasant check in. I was offered breakfast at €10 which I was glad I accepted as the breakfast was really good. Service overall was excellent. Room quiet, clean and much more modern than expected. Parking at €10.50 was good value for the area. Overall very happy with my stay and will do again.
Room and common areas were uncomfortably warm.
I was very happy with the whole outlay & enjoyed the lively but not noisy atmosphere. The pub, restaurant in the hotel was brilliant, good food, service & very reasonable price wise! Altogether very pleased & would definitely return!
Room was dated and need of redecoration.
Room was perfect staff were very friendly. Very enjoyable stay. food in the bar was fab.
Hotel is very outdated for the price. Needs remodeling. Very expensive and charges for every little thing. Outrageous price for internet. Needs Air conditioning. It was very hot in room. Had to ask repeatedly for items needed.
Extremely Disappointed stay, very unfortunate that me and friend both paid the same, they put me in the 2nd floor, where the rooms are very old, I didn't know about it until we left. Smiley but not helpful hotel stuff, no convenient, no free wifi. I don't know why the WARR (world airline road race) would recommend such a hotel. Doubletree, which is a few blocks away, is a far wiser choice with similar price.
It was a very frustrating stay and even though the staff are extremely friendly, it was the little things that were terrible! The location is perfect and I have stayed here a few times before so was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt but its always the same : Overcharging us in the bar, Receiving wrong food orders, Room keys not working, Cold rooms as the staff open windows and having to get a heater as they won't turn on the heating as its on timer in some parts of the hotel
Thanks to Roomex I got a great deal on this hotel. The room was very spacious, though a little more light would have been good. The staff were very polite and helpful at all times. I would definitely stay there again.
A comfortable and clean airy room. Very satisfactory. Breakfast excellent.
Decent enough room, friendly staff, reception, concierge and in bar and coffee bar.
I stayed in Ballsbridge Hotel last Saturday. I was working at the Bride of the Year show in the RDS so I was very impressed to see that I could check in early as it meant my bags were safe whilst I was at the show. However when I arrived back after the show, my impressive attitude when dramatically downhill. Firstly the radiator in the room was very loud and it was certainly not a sound that would be of comfort. I then rang down to reception as I wanted to order my dinner to my room as I was on my own however they informed me they don't do room service. I had to go down to the resteraunt. It took me half an hour to get my dinner, the dinner itself was not great but my main problem was that it then took me 25 mins to que to pay for it. I was very tempted to just walk out! I then returned to my room to do some work on my laptop to find out there was no wifi which had been advertised when booking. When I rang down to reception to ask about it the man on the phone was bery stern and rude. I then had to go back down and que in reception for a voucher for the internet and when I asked how to go about setting it up, the girl on the coounter looked and spoke to me like I was stupid. The following morning I went down for breakfast, I got my cereal and put my juice on the table but when I went to get milk, I seen another waiter guiding two other residents to my seat where all my belongings where. Overall I was very very disappointed with both the hotel and the staff. It was an overall awful experience!
I stayed for one night, mid December. Great breakfast - lovely breakfast room, newspapers to read, great buffet - well stocked. Very friendly staff. The hotel's in a great location. I found the duvet to be small for the size of the bed. Around the windows and light switches the room is a little worn. For a 3 star hotel, the shower was poor - the shower head didn't stay in the position I wanted, and the water dials came away from the wall when I turned them on/off. But everything else was fine.
Have stayed there a number of time - excellent service and value.
It's a good hotel but it has no smoking rooms at all and for that reason I will give it a below average score.
The Ballsbridge Inn is still in effect the D4, nothing has improved with the new ownership bar the front entrance. The hotel itself is run down. The Dubliner Bar is more expensive than other bars in the area. Bar food is moderate, and again over priced for its target market (budget hotel). The bedroom reeked of cigarette smoke although the hotel by law is non smoking. It is a hotel in urgent need of renovation.
We stayed at D4 for "The Boss" in concert. Perfect location for RDS and town. Hotel was excellent and parking was available and reasonably priced. I have stayed there before and I hope to stay again in the future. Happy Bruce Fan
Set in the heart of a beautiful part of Dublin, the Ballsbridge hotel staff welcome you with a warm and friendly manner. The Hotel itself is very nice and the service and food were excellent. It is close to both business and scenic parks, so caters for the business trip or weekend getaway from it all. Will definitely be booking another stay shortly.
I was in fits of laughter, stayed ther many times when the kids were small. The name has been changed, yet it was the same excellent service. It brought back good memories.Delighted we stayed with you, thanl again.
This hotel is the Ryanair of hotels. We were not aware on booking that parking would be extra. We were not told at reception that wifi was an extra cost. The phone didn't work, one of the lamps didn't work. The bed was lumpy, the pillows were flat. The breakfast was very good.
I was most disappointed when on booking out on Sunday morning that I had to pay €11.50 for car parking after spending a night as a paying guest for €99 with no breakfast (extra also). It's an absolute disgrace paying for parking - the ticket should have been validated.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced, clean, friendly, functional, hotel for your stay in Dublin then this hotel is for you. for the price, its a a great place to stay if you want to explore Dublin. Throw in your bags go across the street and get a bus (10 mins) in to the heart of Dublin. Every time I go to Dublin this is where I stay because while the rooms are a bit dated ( they are renovating this summer i believe ? ) It is an ideal spot to if you are coming to Dublin for the weekend and you don't plan to spend your time in a hotel but rather in the city having the craic! ENJOY!!!!!!!
Booked for the Heineken Cup Semi Final weekend, Ulster v Edinburgh. 5 minutes walk from the Aviva Stadium, and perfectly placed for a short walk into the heart of Dublin, with several opportunities to partake in Guinness along the way.... Twin room was clean and spacious, good firm bed and great shower. The hotel was chosen as a fan zone for the match day, which worked out perfectly for the occasion.
Old and run down hotel, service ok but rooms felt un clean and old
Just stayed for one night but it was enjoyable. Staff were friendly and I had a good chat with the duty manager (albeit at 3am!). The only problem we had was that the shower had very poor pressure and was hot one minute then cold the next. Would stay again no problem.
Great location to Aviva. Stayed here for the Ulster v Edinburgh game. Our room was a bit dated with valence on the bed having holes in it but it was clean just what we needed for our trip. Some of the rooms looked ot be refurbished so hopefuly if we stay again the whole hotel will be. Reception staff very helpful and very pleasant.
Breakfast was was well laid out with plenty of variety. The black and white pudding wasn't great. Room was very stuffy. Heating in room was on full blast when we arrived. Could only open the window fractionally as it was chained to only open a cetain amount so took a long time for it to cool down but was very stuffy overnight again. Very convenient location and bearing in mind the price, overall it was decent value for money.
Had a lovely stay, great location & friendly staff
My stay was superb, simply because of price and experience with the staff. Hotel is well located and a very short stroll to Baggot Street. Further than that might be a short taxi journey. The Dubliner Bar is a decent and clean spot and serves a good variety of food. Room was large and spacious with TV and tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom was a little dated and the showerhead didn't work too well. It did the job though. Breakfast is a hot and cold buffet. Hot buffet was well stocked. Cold buffet lacked a variety of fruit, but there was plenty of everything else. This hotel has realised that selling many rooms at a cheap rate is better than selling no rooms at a high rate! It's a long way from 5 star, but you won't be forced to compromise too much. The staff at reception and in The Dubliner bar were very pleasant and welcoming and really efficient. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Dublin. One thing to remember is there is a fee for parking. Overnight parking cost €10.50. I left by 11:00am the next morning.
Stayed overnight while in Dublin on business.I have stayed here many times previous to this and have always been comfortable.Everything from check in,room, breakfast was very nice.Staff in dining room were very helpful and customer friendly.i noticed the downstairs area had been beautifully redecorated since my last visit.I would definitely stay there again when I have business in that part of Dublin. The rate from Roomex was great...as always.
We stayed for a party conference. The rooms were clean, but the bedding was not great, the pillows were so thin it was like sleeping on the mattress, and there were only 3 of them between two. Also the room was very hot, and we could not control the thermostat. Breakfast was fine, but the food that was available in the bar was terrible. The service in the bar was way below the required standard. Even allowing for the fact that the hotel was full, and that there was a lot of pressure on the staff, it was still below standard. There should have been more staff in these areas. The management were aware that there would be a very large crowd for the weekend. All in all, not a 4 star experience.
Good rate 60 euro for 2 of us. Nice new plush carpets in foyer and hallways. Really missed the shop. It was very convenient for all people staying in hotel.
This was my second visit to this hotel this month.I was impressed by the breakfast,Last time it was buffet, and not the best. This time it was cooked to order. The food was hot and delicious.A great improvement.
I arrived at 1400hrs on Wed 22nd Feb to check in and I was met by a lovely smiling receptionist who made me feel very welcome. Once the formalities were completed at check in, I made my way to my room and it was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I had some food in the Dubliner restaurant later that evening and the food and the staff were excellent. Just 2 comments where I consider improvements could be made. One, the bed was quite noisy just turning in it and my car was destroyed with bird dropppings from the trees overhead. Other than those two foibles, I would have no difficulty recommending a stay in the D4 Ballsbridge Inn Hotel Dublin.
breakfast very poor..bedrooms need up grading
The hotel is situated in an upmarket area. On arrival I was greeted at reception by exceptionally friendly staff. I had a preference for a room as close to ground floor as possible. The Receptionist did everything possible in this regard. I got a room on 3rd floor. The room and surroundings was very comfortable, and all stated facilities were available and working. As requested I got a "wake up" call from reception in the morning, who also had pre booked my taxi as requested. Dining room decor was elegant, and the breakfast menu left nothing to be desired. Dining room staff were extremely efficient and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending The Ballsbridge Hotel to anybody looking for a pleasant and resful over-night stay in Dublin.
Hotel decor is a bit tired. The room was clean and comfortable.Good value for money.
very compfortable stay, at a very good price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for affordable accommadation in Dublin. It is a close to the heart of Dublin, the staff are efficnet and friendly and the rooms are large and very clean. At that price you couldn't beat it! Anytime i go to Dublin i stay here and i will be back.
Nice and clean and friendly , I will be back .
Great location for heading to the O2. Stayed for one night and it was great, rooms a little dated and bathrooms could do with being done, but for us it was used for getting ready for a concert and sleeping and we were happy with it.
The staff are friendly and helpful in the D4 Ballsbridge Inn Hotel. The rooms are lovely, spacious and clean. The views are nice and everything is clean, modern and comfortable. The location is ideal for a nice stroll into town. Excellent value overall.
Over good value for what we paid. Not happy though at having to pay for parking as a guest. This should be free for guests.
over all it was good to stay
We stayed there on Sunday night January 15th..Comfortable warm clean room, very friendly staff, fabulous breakfast, great value and very central safe location.
"Upgraded" to D4 Berkeley, all well and good, decent room and good breakfast, but... I booked the room because sleep was important. Extremely loud fornication from another room (not even the one next-door) prevented that, and the wailing from the radiator whenever the heat came on didn't help either. The staff and food were fine, but a 4* hotel should have quiet rooms. As a result, my body got run-down and now I am sick. Not happy.
WAS UPGRADED TO BERKELEY COURT HOTEL AT SAME RATE. COULD NOT FIND FAULT WARM & FRIENDLY.
Hotel was lovely. Very clean. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Only negative was there was a problem with the electric in the kitchen so we couldn't get any food. However this was resolved in the morning and we had a very nice breakfast which included a great choice. Would definitely stay again.
Hotel's location was ideal. Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms, bar, lobby etc were all clean, bright and festive in keeping with the season. This was all in spite of the fact that the staff were incredibly busy with match goers. Only downer was related to this, as the food available on the night was very limited, but nevertheless very good.
friedly staff reasonable prices nice room
Phone in the room did not work, no free WiFi , The extractor fan in the bathroom did not work , the trouser press did not work , The room was beside the lift and the noise was constant all night However the room was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Rooms were basic but served their purpose. Due to flood damage a lot of the amenities of the hotel are undergoing renovation however it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast was of a better quality than expected and very fresh even at 10.30.
i was only on a one night stay, but found the staff all very friendly, mannerly and helpful. the room was good( i was only in it a few hours) but some minor works needed like repairing the loose tile edging in the bathroom. overall very impressed
I was booked in to Ballsbridge Inn but upon arrial, there was a sign on the door stating that due to recent flood damage the hotel was closed for renovations. I had the phone number and gave it a ring and the lady on the phone confirmed it was closed but that I was booked into the Berkley Hotel which is right next door. Which I thought was handled perfectly and the staff at the hotel was very helpful and polite.
Very nice hotel 40- 45 min walk from city center (20 min by taxi because of traffic). Public transportation (incl airport shuttle) rigth outside the hotel. Service friendly and helpful. Pub, small supermarket and restaurant attached. But you've get a better view from you room at a factory site.
We came over from London to visit our friend who is from Brae. We had an absolutely brilliant time in Dublin and our accommodation definitely helped with this. We were so very pleased with our stay at D4 Ballsbridge Inn Hotel. The beds were huge and very comfortable, the rooms were clean, cosy, yet spacious (Very important when getting ready with your friends to go out) We were also very pleased with the breakfast which catered for those on weight watchers AND those in need of a hangover cure! We will definitely be staying at D4 Ballsbridge Inn Hotel when we next visit Dublin. Thank you for having us.
Room was very clean and very comfortable and we have absolutely no complaints.
Traveled with a friend, rooms very large, clean. The hotel was very accessible by bus to the city centre. Didn't use the car all weekend. Would recommend if you want a place to stay that is very reasonably priced and in a good area and accessible to the city centre.
Very nice hotel, centrally located, within walking distance of Dart services and also city centre. Staff were very helpful and good facilites within the hotel with a reasonably priced restaurant.
in the times we live in this hotel was the best value i have ever got, well done to all, only wish that this value for money can be got to people of ireland and worldwide as this value must help bring people to ireland
Good hotel in Dublin 4 and great value for money given it's location.
We are repeat customers and always find the check in staff at reception very clipped and unhelpful. There seems to be some problem with their understanding of the English language. The accommodation side was good, as usual. I found the staff at the coffee dock very pleasant, and on this stay we ate in the pub on one night and the food was good and the staff excellent.
My daugher and myself recent stay at D4 Ballsbridge Inn Hotel was really enjoyable, for value and location it cannot be beaten. I had priced loads of other hotels in the Dublin area and could not find a better deal anywhere. Booking through Roomex was the best deal, even much cheaper than the D4 own website which is strange but great for the customer. Having the city buses stop right outside the hotel makes the stay so handy, so I was able to leave the car parked up in the car park. The room was very spacious and nice and quiet at night. Lobby area is nice and had no problem checking in or out/ I have stayed here before and will be back again in November hopefully with my husband. I wont even bother checking other hotels.
My only complaint is the exorbitant rates they charge for internet use.
This hotel was average at best. There was a slight air of dirtiness about the hotel room. A lot of simple things wrong with the room, such as a need to paint over the chipped doors or replace the old, out of date furniture. My biggest flaw with the hotel was the lack of free wifi for guests. It would do as a place you just need to put your head down for the night, but don't expect the lap of luxury this hotel once was.
Although that it was only for one night, I found it overcrowded on the groundfloor (reception hall and pub/restaurant); for late arrivals lack of parkingplaces and as we could see in the early next morning, most or a lot, left in the night; so a nice solution must be made for parking for not-overnight-staying visitors. There was a UK&I poker tour in the hotel, maybe that influenced the parkingpossibilities. And a disapointment was the parkingfee for a night stay; that should be free for guests staying overnight. The way out from the parking place was not well directed and you have to pass the early delivery vans en lorries and is not allways possible due to their size. Than you might be missing your ferry. (wenn you have to leave early for that occasion)
Great location and good price via roomex 62 euro per night for a double with full breakfast. Very good commute with airport and city center. Rooms ok although some refreshing would be nice especially in the bathrooms where mould was already showing. Despite the fact it was a double room toilettries were provided as for one person. Dryer cord too short to reach the mirror. You wait for over an hour to get an iron for your clothing.Luggage room unsecured however staff was helpful to store valuebles (e.g. laptop) at the reception desk. Staff was also helpful to change a room from smoking to non-smoking. Staff overall nice. Would stay again for 1-2 nights, but for longer stay would be looking for something else.
Room on the 8th floor was large and very comfortable. Staf friendly and helpful. Location perfect, close to RDS and walking disatance to city centre
I've stayed in Jurys many times over the years The last time i was there was around ten years ago and to say its gone down hill is an understatement! Breakfast was awful! parking expensive wifi expensive. Should have booked a different hotel.
Very nice hotel staff were very good, helpfull and friendly enjoyed breakfast and nice bar will stay there again Thanks.
This is a good hotel which had a few things that should be put right very easily. The bedclothes were not big enough to fit the bed, in other words a King size bed with double bed clothes on it. Some of the bedroom furniture (room 325) would need to be renewed, eg. the drawer in one of the bedside cabinets did not fit the cabinet properly and some of the other furniture had small chips broken away from it. The television was too small for the size of the room. Some of the foreign bar staff had a very little knowledge of English - indeed when I asked for an Irish Whiskey the waitress stated Hennessey, I told her that it was whiskey I wanted , not, brandy she went away bringing back Hennessey in a brandy glass and a bill for brandy. On the whole most of the staff were excellent and some ( the resturant manager)went out of their way to help.
great hotel . very near city centre about 20 in walk. also very near grand canal theatre.. two minutes from the aviva.. fab hotel with super services.. would definitely stay here again
Lovely hotel. Excellent value. Room clean+spacious. Taxis outside the hotel, bus-stop outside the gate, Dart 5 min walk away. City 5 mins in car. Would highly recommend this hotel, will definitely stay again.
The hotel was fine & a convenient location for my purpose but i think the car park should have been free.
We checked in at 21:15 and I asked what time the dinner menu closes. The receptionist told me at 22:00. I asked if I could preorder while we freshen up and she said there was no need as long as we were in the restaurant before 22:00. We arrived at the restaurant at 21:55 to be told that the kitchen was closed and we only offered burgers or fish. We were not satisified with this but had no chioce but to accept that food. We complained to the supervisor nut only got an apology.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there to see Riverdance at the Gaiety. The hotel was very conveniently situated beside bus stops and within walking distance from the Theatre. The room we stayed in was very clean and very spacious, the only fault we could find was we could hear the lift being used as our room was located beside the lift. Staff in hotel were very friendly and helpful. We would stay in this hotel again.
Very comfortable hotel, pleasant, friendly staff. Very welcoming, welcomed us back as we had stayed there recently. Bar staff very efficient.
Very friendly on check in.Rooms clean but out dated.
The hotel was lovely, very clean, a little dated in when it came to the rooms but perfect for what we wanted and for what we paid for! we got an excellent over night B&B rate. I was a little dissappointed when we had to pay 10.50 for parking when i read on something before booking that car park was free?? The location is ideal, 9euro into down centre in taxi. The breakfast was lovely as well. The only real prolem I had was where our room was located. We were on the 6th floor right next to the elavator... was very noisy, took a while to get to to sleep. Would recommend though!
the Ballsbridge inn hotel was ok, girls behind the desk were lovely and VERY helpful. To eat in the hotel was very expensive but was nice, the rooms were a little dated and bed not comfortable, you had to pay to park your car which i taught was a bit irish €10.50 a day. You had to pay for wi-fi over €7 a day and the internet was €2 for 15 minutes which i taught was day light robbery, even tough we got a good offer to stay at hotel they made their money by charging for everything else, would not stay there again.
Smiling and courteous receptionists! Housekeeping staff who are affable and amenable! Rooms that are conducive to relazation! First Class service in the dining room and management who bend backwards to help hapless guests who have misplaced valuables! What more could a satisfied guest ask for! Oh, and the ppr is also very agreeable!
A very pleasant stay in D4... Room comfortable and clean ...reception friendly and polite...food excellant in the Dubliner. always stay in D4 and always enjoy my stays
excellent--better price by 50euro by booking through Roomex.
The room was nice, and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the fact that there a nice resturant, a bar and shopping all together in the hotel.
We got a triple room very cheap so to be honest wasn't expecting much. However I was very impressed! The room was clean and we had everything we needed and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is fairly central, its about a 20 minute walk into the centre and only 5 mins from RDS. I would definitely stay again if i'm back in dublin.
I was staying at the D4 recently for the bon jovi gig, this hotel was suggested to me by a friend. It was pretty cheap so i didn't expect too much, but i was suprised at how good it was. The rooms were spotless, but were very hot at night. I booked without breakfast and was delighted at the price of 9.95 for the full irish which is cheap compared to other hotels, we had dinner in the Dubliner bar which was lovely and the staff were more than helpful. I will be returning to this hotel again in the future. P.S if ur booking for a gig book months in advance because they bump up the prices, i booked 8 months in advance and my 2 nights stay was 124 euro weeks before the gig this had gone up to 339 euro.
great hotel staff were friendly and the room was nice. im only saying it was very good because our kettle was broke..
Staff at reception, very welcoming/polite. Rooms are clean. Bed comfortable. Bar/restaurant, good, not too expansive. Wiil be back next time I visit Dublin. I have a good chance to be working in Dublin for possibly a few months starting from Sunday/mondays to Fridays. Do you givedeals for this?
Arrived to a very warm welcome from reception staff. Hotel was buzzing as it was fully booked due to Bon Jovi concert at the RDS that evening, which we were also going to and why we choose this hotel due to location. Hotel dated but clean. Had meal in restaurant on the Wednesday evening which was good, breakfast was also good. Again on check out very pleasant staff on reception. Had no faults as we paid an extremely good rate for the hotel. The rate was so good infact the receptionist at checkin asked how we managed that!!
Enjoyed our stay, attending concert in RDS so hotel was the perfect location. Room very comfortable and noise levels low which is always a bonus when staying in a city. Would stay there again in future.
We stayed in the D4 Ballsbridge Inn for a recent concert in the RDS. The location is perfect for anyone attending the RDS which is a short walk away, approx. 10 minutes. The hotel has parking (for a charge), a shop, cafe, bar and restaurant on site all which seemed reasonably prced for Dublin. We ate in the restaurant prior to the concert and while very busy the staff were excellent and the food very good. The hotel is a bit dated but the room we had was spacious (there was 3 of us sharing) and clean. The only complaint we had was a spring was coming through one of the mattresses in our room, this didn't affect or stay whatsoever and when reported on check out full details of the issue were taken. Reception staff were very friendly and printed directions for us on check out for our next destination. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Room was clean. curatins in room where all stained
easy to book, quick, good price, great location, room lovely, what more could you want!
Rooms were tidy, reception well staffed, bar good, food service was great, the D4 shop - a great asset, Staff were helpful and friendly, Access to bus a taxis was great, would def stay there again, thank you
We had a wonderful stay at your hotel. Staff were most welcomming and friendly. The rooms were very clean. The atmosphere was freat. The added bonus was the bus service that was supplied for the take that concert. The whole experience was great value for money, cosidering that I stayed there some years ago for a concert and it cost €370 for one night. Would recommend the Ballsbridge Inn to anyone for a friendly and welcomming experience. Thanks
Great hotel to stay in.
excellent, everyone couldn't do enough for myself and my boyfriend;
I had a one night stay in this hotel when in Dublin on a flying visit. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here as it is 4 star quality at a 1 star price. The room was really nice, clean, good view of Dublin skyline and best of all the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and a taxi can take you into Grafton Street (central city) in less than five mins for under €10.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, very clean and comfortable. Convenient location and good facilities on site including a shop and deli. Excellent value for money and will stay there again.
Very Enjoyable stay, excellent facilities, Helpful & Friendly Staff and great atmosphere.. Will stay again.
My daughter, her friend and I stayed recently after the Flora 10k. the room was clean, comfortable and tidy. The ideal location.
hotel was only a 10 min walk from the city, with lots of resturants near by .room was large and and hotel in general was very clean.breakfast had something for everyone and the waiters kept refilling the coffee and tea, staff were very helpful and pleasant.the decor was a bit dated but is excellent value for money and I would stay there again
lovely hotel, lots of facilities, good spacious rooms, good value for money and close to city centre
Awful, smell in the room plus shower for temperamental, air conditioning was not working etc., I might not stay again
I stayed at the Ballsbridge Inn(room 220) for 3 nights 19th, 20th and 21st of May the room was ok apart from the shower being either hot or cold and at 06.00am in the morning I was woken by a very loud noise which continued well into the morning I think this room is possibly near a boiler. I complained to the receptionist who agreed to move me to a different room but none were available this early in the morning. when I returned at 9.00pm I was to tired to move as I was at the RDS all day so I stayed in this room for the 3 nights not reccommended for those that want a late sleep. Where this establishment really fell down was with the unbelievable bad service in the Dubliner restaurant and bar. The first night i went there I was served my main course after which I waited 30 minutes to order a desert and coffee but no service I paid for the main course and complained about the service to the waiter but got no reply. The second night i got as far as the desert but only after i had call a waiter to get the desert service again was slow. The third night was a real annoying experience I gave my order to the waitress for all 3 courses I was served the starter after which I waited 35mins for my main course but nothing arrived 2 other groups that arrived after had been served in the meantime I was about to go to the till to pay for the starter when the waitress asked me had I been served she could see that i was very agitated from this experience she called her supervisor who apologised and asked me to take my seat and he would get my main course he served it, I just wasn`t hungry any more and I didn`t enjoy the meal he offered it to me for free but I declined the offer this is the worst example of bad service that I have come across in many years of travelling this hotel is not for me again.
It was my first time booking a triple room and getting a twin room. This was a bit inconvenient as there were three males sharing. The hotel's solution was to put a foldable bed which was small and not at all comfortable. We ended up having to take the matress off the foldable bed and put it on the ground. Sure this was good value at the time of booking but I suppose you get what you pay for. No satisfaction at reception.
had a brilliant time staying at the D4 Ballsbridge Inn, staff were friendly and atentative. The best thing about this hotel is that there is a supermarket in the building which is brilliant for someone staying for just 1 night, so u wont have to go far for any essentials
Fantastic value, and great friendly service. Excellent service for food and drinks. Very safe and perfect parking facilities. Couldn't recommend it more.
was in Dublin for a night with my two Daughters for some retail Therapy We enjoyed our stay in the D4 . the rooms were Clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. It is a great location for weekend shopping trips with bus stops outside the hotel with easy access to the city center. Have stayed there before and will book it again.
Stayed two nights in the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel and thought it was fantastic value. A room including breakfast is only €61. The breakfast is also great value as you have a selection of cereals, fruit, croissants and a full fry up to set you up for the rest of the day. You are a 15 minute stroll ( 1o mins brisk walk) to the bottom of grafton street so you are very close to the city centre. the new aviva stadium is just behind the hotel along with a dart line if you dont fancy the walk to town ( this will bring you to o connell street). the dubliner bar in the hotel is a grand lively spot with music on the friday night we were there and serve lovely grub all day long. Rooms are perfect, good size and the usual tea making facilities and tv. all in all i could not fault it and for the price it is a steal.
staff were very friendly and helpful. rooms spotless and very comfortable. would definitely stay again
Made a return visit to the D4 for a one night stay. As before we couldn't fault the staff, the service given was as good as any 5 star hotel. Our room was on the 8th floor and was very quiet. The bathroom in our room had been refurbished, which was an improvement on some of the bathrooms on the lower floors from previous experience. Overall we were completely satisfied with our stay, for the price, and will return in the near future.
You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
The food and wine were quite devine, The staff were pleasant and refined, Room was roomy clean and bright, Our stay was lovely a true delight.
SPOTLESS/FRIENDLY STAFF/GREAT PRICE/VG
great, lovely room, friendly staff, would use again!
D4Ballsbridge inn Hotel is the must stay in destination in Dublin. We we were attending a nearby event, and the staff could not have been more helpful or curtious. Suggesting several means of transport we could take. Booking in was hassle free, the bar staff were prompt and the breakfast was one of the nicest we have experienced. On top of all this the room was spotless and had every thing you could need. Definitly recommending D4 Ballsbridge inn to all my UK friends visiting Dublin, pointless staying anywhere else. Exteremly excellent value in the current economic climate
For 49 euros an absolute steal! We checked in at a large lovely lobby, friendly and efficient rception staff. The room was large with two beds, lovely clean bathroom, lots of towels, tea/coffee making facilitie and lots of storage and wardrobe space for our golf equipment and suitcases. The bar offered very tasty and reasonably priced food and the hotel as an in-house supermarket. Buses were literally outside the door, the impressive Aviva stadium was less than five minutes walk away and a train service adjacent. A frequent airport service stops at the hotel also. Overall a friendly lively hotel in a great safe and very pleasant location and for only 49 euros per night!
My stay was a quick stop over on a work visit. The checkin was very friendly and fast. The shop on the premises was open late and very handy to have when your stuck for time. Room was clean and of course the Location is perfect with a short walk to the Dart Station.
We booked the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel and when we got there, we were offered a ten euro upgrade offer. We agreed to pay the ten euro extra and it turned out that the upgrade was to the Ballsbridge Towers. It was a very long walk down a lot of corridors to get to the Towers part of the hotel, but since we only had to do it a couple of times, we didn't mind. The room was lovely. We stopped off at the bar on the way to bed after midnight to see if we could get some water to bring up to our room with us. The bar man was really friendly and gave us each a pint of tap water and said not to worry about bringing back the glasses that it would be done when the room was cleaned the next day. We had booked room-only, so didn't have breakfast. However, in the morning, we saw a nice coffee area in the foyer and we decided to have coffee and muffins before we went home. The price was very reasonable for that too. The car park cost 10 euro for the night, which we thought was a bit steep, but overall we felt the whole experience was great and we'd definitely do it again. It is much cheaper than getting taxi's home from the city centre after a day's shopping or a night out on the town. We'll be back.
I was really pleased with D4 Ballsbridge Inn. It is so coveniently situated with an excellent bus service from city centre. I stayed two nights and parked up my car in the car park at the hotel and didn't have to use all weekend. Room was lovely, reception staff were very pleasant and lobby area very comfortable.
There was ants in one of the two rooms we had booked all over by the heater. Room 306. The other room was fine. We told the nights porter and the girl at checkout. As I had prepaid my bill she offered me a complimentary coffee!!! I didn't make a fuss as I was with my kids and to be honest I didn't want them to even know about the ants. You can imagine how they would have reacted. The hoptel is cheap and cheerful and that's fine. I would however expect it to be cleaned properly as well!!
Clean and comfortable and friendly staff
Hotel was lovely, staff were friendly, great location at a great rate with Roomex. Will definitely book again!!
Very comfortable Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful at the front desk, offering to print off directions for my business destination. I will definitely come back when in Dublin again.
Room was lovely. Staff were helpful and efficient.
The hotel is ideally situated for the Aviva Stadium and provides all the necessary services for people wanting to stay in the Fair City for a weekend break.
From the moment of arrival to departure we were treated spectactularly. There were six in our party and each felt the same. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We ate and had drinks in the bar before venturing into the city and could not fault either the food or service. The staff of the hotel were fantastic, helpful and pleasant. We would most definitely stay again and recommend to all.
THe hotel itself was adequate, the room was clean and it sufficed for the night. the hotel itself was in an excellent location. the heating in the room was on all night and unable to be turned off, this made the stay very stuffy and uncomfortable. the window could only be opened a little and the noise from outside made it impossible to leave the window open for the night. the shower head was outdated and this ment their was a low flow on the shower. when we first arrived the front office agent was very unwelcoming and negitive towards us. the next morning when i asked to get an apple for breakfast or just a piece of toast the staff said it costs 4.50€ for toast and tea. nowhere i have ever been has charged so much for toast and tea.
I booked the room through roomex, i was staying for a soccer game. The hotel had a very nice laid out lobby, no waiting to check in, the receptionist was very nice and polite. The room itself was quite spacious & very clean, the bar staff were also very polite. The price I paid for the room through roomex was half the price the hotel had on there own website. I am going to Dublin again in May and will difinately be booking through Roomex & booking the same hotel.
Paid 10 euro extra for an upgrade to executive suite which was well worth it. Food and stay was very good.
price for twin room which we got from roomex was very good. €44.85.However we were put in to room 117 which is at the exit/entrance where people are coming and going all night.when you have drunks coming in up to 5.30 a.m, it is going to be very noisy especially when there is no night porter to tell them to be quiet. The noiseness went on up to 5.30 a.m.non stop which meant that we had no sleep. Romm was adequate
A very pleasant and reasonably priced stay. Clean room and bathroom facilities. Thank You!
The room was nice and clean. Very good value. The only minor downside was that the slightly more expensive rooms were a longer walk from the lobby and front door.
We had a very enjoyable stay at your hotel. The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful in giving us directions. The room was very good; very clean and warm. The linen was spotless. I loved the shower! Powerful and invigorating in the morning. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
The overall stay was enjoyable,I stayed in the hotel because of the price, I have a slight problem with this hotel in that it advertises a certain price but when you go to book it at that price for a weekend it doesn't apply! They should stipulate when the rate applies. Overall the room was clean if a bit dated but for the price it suited very well and i will stay there again
Hotel fine, service fine, bar food menu much improved.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. My room was comfortable and had all the facilities you would expect. It is in an ideal location for a weekend in Dublin being close to both the RDS and the Aviva stadium. The nearby dart station and bus stops close to the hotel make it a perfect location to base yourself and explore the greater Dublin area. My one dislike was the car parking fee. I thought it was a little bit steep in current climate but it was nice to know that your car was parked securely so a small fee would be acceptable.
very nice hotel, would stay here again when visiting the RDS
Had another lovely stay in D4...Receptionists very helpful, friendly and efficient.Had the most beautiful meal in the Dubliner and inexpensive. will be back as I always enjoy mt stay here.
Not very Impressed with the Hotel. There were mould stains between the tiles in the bath and a strong smell of urine when the shower was switched on. We requested a room change because of this, I had expected the hotel to upgrade us to a suite for the inconvenience as they were offering a deal on suites for only an extra €10 per night, but no, we were offered a room that was on the top floor and furthest away from the elevator. When I returned to the same front desk attendant 10 minutes later to ask a question about parking he asked me if I was a Hotel Guest!! Not great customer service which is what Hotels should be all about!
my only complaint is that the room was very cold.
Every time I stay the heating doesnt work and this time it was the toilet did not flush once.
As a customer staying in the hotel, I thought I could have been giving information on any events happening in the hotel e.g. dancing sat night, I seen the poster going into the dance (late). When checking in the receptionist should inform me of anything going on incase I would be interested. And as a resident of the hotel (as in most hotels) I should have been able to go in for free or at least a discount!
Good value , convenient , courteous staff
recently stayed in d4 ballsbridge hotel. hotel itself was ok, however when we returned from a night out in the city we were told residents bar was closed yet we could see other residents being served. we requested to speak to on duty manager who was extremely unhelpful we were a large group staying in the hotel and have since been on a break away in dublin and would not stay again in d4 hotels.
Had a lovely stay, staff are great, room was fine. Bathrooms seriously need a revamp as does the heating. We had no control over the heating and found it quite cold in the room, it is centrally controlled and comes on at 6pm. When the heating did come on it was quite noisy and continued until 11am the next morning! Next time, I'll request a room further away from the lift shaft and heating ducts.
Hotel seems old fashioned-room basic old. Dirty towel in bathroom. Had a shower hairdryed didnt work, reported it sat in room 10mins or so called reception to be told they dont have spare so I ended up using my ghd to remove half the water before I left for a meeting :( Booked dinner to be told we had to go outside and walk 2 mins to the restaurant luckily it was not raining-brekkie was ok ish! Only stayed there for work reasons but wont stay der again
Had a very pleaseant stay,Hotel very busy, receptionist very friendly and efficient..Will be back
This is probably one of the best value rooms you will find in Dublin, particularly Ballsbridge. Despite being nearly half the price of most hotel rooms in Dublin it was a fine standard. The room was large, clean and had a flat screen tv. The bed was comfortable and despite the size of the hotel there were no problems with noise. Particularly convenient is the D4 stores shop within the hotel which has a large selection of food/drink/magazine etc. The only downside would be the lack of parking. We arrived late on a Saturday night and couldn't find a spot. We noticed a couple of cars that had been clamped and were worried the same would happen to us if we didn't park in a designated area. A very helpful attendent noticed us and guided us to an area where we could leave the car. Would definitely stay again.
I booked a regular room at Ballsbridge Inn recently and was invited to pay an extra ten euros to stay at their executive Towers wing. The room had its own walk in wardrobe, lovely bathroom, king size bed and ample space. There were coffee / tea making facilities, lots of clean white towels (with rack heater) and a thermostat to regulate the temperature. I shopped at the in-house SPAR which was very convenient and ate a very reasonably priced meal a the hotel's Dubliner Bar. Would I stay again? Absolutely. In recessionary times - it's a winner,
Had a lovely stay, staff are great, room was fine. Bathroom needs a revamp as does the heating. We had no control over the heating and found it quite cold in the room. We were woken at 4am by a couple having a major argument but I suppose that's to be expected in a large hotel on a Saturday!
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. I would stay at this hotel again.
Bed INCREDIBLY comfortable!! Room fine. I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a good value place to stay in Dublin.
would rather stay in the towers as D4 Inn always seems to be noisy at night, had to ring reception at 4.30am party next door.
A very nice Hotel to stay in. This week-end ( Jan.1st-Jan.3rd) was actually our 2nd week-end staying in Dublin since Oct. We automatically booked the Ballsbridge Inn since we found it very convenient the first time we stayed there. The Staff ( particularly a lovely girl named Georgia AT RECEPTION ) were ALL VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. Overall the Ballsbridge Inn was a great choice . Unfortunately we hadn't discovered ROOMEX.com before our fist stay but we will certainly use ROOMEX.com in the future , moreover because as a repeat customer with ROOMEX we will get reductions !
Very good hotel, staff were courteous and very pleasant. The shopping centre next door to the hotel was very convenient
Staff friendly and helpful at reception on arrival. The room was reasonable and a good size. Happy with my stay in this hotel and excellent location. Only issue there was no hot water in the shower in the morning but we were informed this was due to the local council cutting off the water becasuse of the extreme freezing conditions.
Found reception staff to be very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the bar was cosy with nice music for a Friday night. Over all a very pleasant stay for the price. Would deffo return!!
Had a good time overall, very happy with Ballsbridge Inn.
I felt that the hotel room was run down. the paint in the bed room need redoing, the paint in the ceiling of the bathroom was peeling. the room though clean felt shabby.
A Comfortable hotel in the old style, The location is great for the city centre and it is very reasonably priced. I will definatley be staying there again.
I was disappointed with my stay. The room was fine and comfortable . I didn't realise that the toilet was not working until I arrived in late on the Saturday night. I wasn't going to disturb anyone at that late hour. I put up with it . i was happy up until this. When I was leaving I informed the clerk at the desk that the toilet was in a bad state and was not working . She more or less told me that it was my own fault that I should have informed them the day before and it would have been taken care of immediately. I was not complaining just trying to be helpful. So much for that!
The Ballsbridge Inn is an excellant hotel, it has everything you need and the price was unbeatable, I stayed in a twin room with my mother and it had two big lovely double beds in it and the evening entertainment in the bar was great and the crowd was friendly. The next morning we had a massive cooked breakfast that set us up for our day of shopping, I will definately stay here again.
I would have only one gripe and that would be service for bar food was slow and I think the food itself was overpriced for what you got. Other than that the room, staff and location were all excellent. Great value for money and a great overall experience.
I had a lovely stay in D4 Hotel, Reception staff extremely helpful and courteous. Room was very cosy, warm and pleasant, plenty of hot water and clean, as the weather was below zero temperature. Its essential to have ironing facilites in the room, but it was not supplied. Overall I realy enjoy my stay.
Room was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Best value in town with Roomex rate of 55euros bed and breakfast.Unbeatable!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed my stay in D4 Ballsbridge Inn Hotel. Had a lovely large room with great views and breakfast was very good - included in overall price which was good value. Good location close to the RDS which was only a 7 mins walk from hotel. Will definitely stay here again.
On checking in to the Hotel I checked to see what time breakfast finished at in the morning and I was told 11.00 am.I had breakfast at around 10.05 am so there was no problem but I saw another person come in for breakfast at 10.45 am and breakfast was finished at 10.30 am.The person said that they were told breakfast also finished at 11.00 am, the staff member was very polite and did get this person some breakfast. I had booked 2 rooms in the hotel in my name. When we got our rooms on Sunday afternoon the rooms were extremely cold with no heating on.We left the hotel at 4.30 pm on Sunday evening and informed reception that the rooms were cold, we were assured that the heating would be on in the rooms at 6.00 pm and that they would be warm when we returned on Sunday night. However, when we returned on Sunday night the rooms were 'freezing' and were so cold we had to get on to reception to have heaters put in each room to try and warm them up.The next morning was no different the rooms were still cold and we had to use the heaters again. I did notice when I was checking of the room at 12 noon the heating was starting to come on but at that stage it was too late. On Sunday night we went into the Library Bar to have a few drinks but also had to leave there early due to the cold in the Bar.As part of our drinks round I asked for a cup of tea for my wife but was told no tea was being served. My wife then went to the Bar to see why she could not get a cup of tea and eventually the Barman agreed to serve her tea. On a positive note we checked out of the hotel on Monday morning and I left my car in the car park of the hotel. We returned on Monday evening to pick up the car and decided to go into the Restauraunt in the Dubliner Bar to have a meal.We did get a very nice tasy meal there and the restauraunt was warm which changed everything about the Hotel.
Staff where very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Very good value for money
I have stayed in this hotel a few times over the past few months. Besides it's convenience to everything, the rooms are nice & airy (not too stuffy like most). Staff are very friendly. Rates are very reasonable especially if booked in advance.
Enjoyed our one night stay very much. Room comfortable and with everything one needs. (However hairdrier was missing). Staff very helpful. Reception not too sure where National Concert Hall was. Told us 15 minute walk. It took us 45 minutes without getting lost. Bar staff very sociable and attentive. Will stay there again
The hotel room was very good. Clean and spacious. Unfortunately the corridor was noisy during the night with people waking me up twice.
I stayed in this hotel on Saturday night 30th October 2010. I think I got 3 hours sleep in the entire night. The noise was dreadful all night - banging doors, shouting and guys running up and down the corridor knocking on doors. However, the hotel did offer their apologies and gave me a complimentary voucher for another night stay. While I would recommend this hotel for a mid-week stay I would not recommend it for a weekend stay as due to its low rates a lot of stag and hen parties are attracted to it.
We booked a triple room in this hotel for one night, on checking in at reception the staff were very friendly and helpful, at this stage we were offered a "room upgrade" for an extra E10.00 and were informed the room would be nice as it would be in a quieter area of the hotel, we accepted and proceeded up to our room. The room was average, if this was an upgrade then I wouldn't have liked to see the first room!! It was basic double and single bed, nothing more and the bathroom left a lot to be desired, while it was basicaly clean, the ceiling had pealing paint and black patches, some of the tiles on the vanity had been broken and looked like they had been just shoved back on with superglue.....the breakfast was o.k. but service was average. All in all as it was a one night stay it was o.k. but would have serious reservations about a longer visit!
We stayed her for 1 night staff were very friendly easily accesible to the city centre breakfast was fantastic, rooms were clean just one little thing was no bath towels in the room but within 5 min they had housekeeping at the door so overall excellent service. Will definatley be staying there again.
When we arrived the family room that we had booked could not be used because 'the door lock was broken'. Instead they offered us 2 adjoining rooms on the 7th floor. The rooms were ok but the rooms were very tired and one of the rooms had no bin, 2 pictures from the wall and broken fittings in the bathroom. The room just lacked a bit of finish though sheets were good and my kids loved that they had their own room for the first time. Good price for the hotel but could have been better. Also, guests should note that although there are pictures of a swimming pool on the web site - you cannot use it.
We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Upon arrival we upgraded our room to an executive room in the Towers section for €10 extra a night which was well worth it. We didn't have to leave the hotel all weekend, between the Gaelcon convention and the hotel's services we had everything we needed. The breakfast with the room was superb considering the volume of people they had to deal with. The bars were great, usual expected Dublin prices, their food was top quality though and made it worth staying in the hotel instead of eating out. Having a supermarket inside the hotel was brilliant too as anything we needed like snacks, water etc was right there on hand, the convenience is definitely a bonus. We did however have 2 problems across the weekend though which people should be aware of. To use their residents bar they have a tab which they set up onto your room through your laser/credit card which isn't explained very well initially and is awkward to use as some of the hotel's system seems to confirm it, other parts did not. The other part of the weekend is parking, we were told the parking was free for residents but we were charged just over €10 per night which wasn't expected at all. Other than that it was a great experience, I would definately stay there again but be wary of hidden extras.
I spent two nights at the hotel while visiting a convention taking place there, upgrading to an executive suite for an extra 10 Euros a night. Getting there early in the day, I had to wait some time before a room was available. When I got to the room, however, I found it to be warm, clean and comfortable. There are several shops and bars attached to the hotel and I found the food there to be a high standard, while the staff were polite and did their best to help with any questions or problems I might have had. Overall, a good experience, especially at the price I paid.
good hotel and plenty of space in the family room, 2 double plus single bed, had a lovely time
Fading glory - but excellent value.
A very good comfortable hotel we will go back great location to the aviva stadium we were up for the ireland v russia game... :)
This is a good budget hotel if you want to be near aviva stadium. Got a great price on roomex.com. We arrived a little early for check in and were told that our room was ready but we would have to pay an extra charge if we wanted to check in before 2. We declined and waited. Breakfast was a disaster. We arrived to the dining room at 10.40am and had to queue for 15 minutes even though we could see plenty of emply tables. We were given a table for 2 with two knives and one cup and saucer, we had to find our own cutlery, cup and saucer, salt and pepper. Then you queue for your cold fry and make your own toast (hard work). I would stay here again for the convenience to the stadium but will book room only and have breakfast elsewhere!
The hotel is fine; cheap and cheerful. The bar is pleasant and had live music on the Sat night we were there. Breakfast included the full Irish, cereals, yogurts and was served by very pleasant waiters. Overall good accommodation, within walking distance of the city at very good rates.
Terrible nights stay. It took 3 attempts before I was given the correct room. The first room I walked into was already occupied. Apologies to the family I walked in on. No apologies from the Reception Desk staff. A noisy hotel, drunk fools in the corridor all night long.
The Ballsbridge Inn is the best value hotel in Dublin at present. I found a very affordsble offer with roomex.com and was surprised to open the door into a large, clean and very functional room with good bathroom, tv, tea/coffee making facilities. There was a supermarket on site and the bar food was good and very reasonably priced. The location is excellent and serviced to city, south and north Dublin by bus and train. The hotel is affordable, comfortable and conveniently located. Thumbs up, I will definitely stay there again.
I have stayed in the hotel many time's and never had a problem before, but on this occasion I'm sorry to say that I think they could not cater for the amount of people that were booked into the hotel. I think some more training for staff would go a long way
Truly enjoyed the hotel The guinness was star, the whole experience, was first class
Very good over all. Door rattled when window was open. Excellent hairdresser in salon on site ,
The accommodation was perfect for our requirements, staff were friendly and helpful, could not fault the hotel.
nothing fancy but does the job, and location is excellent
my son and i had a very nice stay in the ballsbridge inn the evening of the ireland andorra match.mark from roomex booked the hotel for us.he was very helpful and courteus.he even consoled us after kilkennys all ireland defeat to tipperary when he learned that we were from the marble city.the hotel was good value apart from the policy of only serving heineken products in the bar.pints at €5.oo euro were served in lightweight plastic glasses. we are going back for the ireland russia game in october. hope to get a nice pint of guinness then!
The room was fine, the breakfast was fine but the service in the bar and at reception was not up to the usual high standards
On arrival, room was clean but had a smell of stale sick. The smell was even worse when we arrived back later that night. The tv didnt work and hardly any coffee facilities were available. We couldnt even get a bottle of water at the residents bar because apparently our account was closed. I paid in advance for parking and room. Didnt realise we couldnt get a drink at the bar. Staff were polite but this needs to be explained at reception on arrival. No information in the rooms with regards to times of vacating the room and hotel facilities were available. Needs to buck up basic standards.
I was disappointed to arrive and find that I had to pay €10 in order to check-in early. This was not stipulated anywhere on the booking form. In fact there was no reference whatsoever to check-in time as I read it thoroughly for this reason. A customer should be made aware of extra charges that may be incurred.I think that this is a very unfair charge and is completely unnecessary. Also the fact that residents are charged for parking is not good business. I did not find the atmosphere in the hotel to be very welcoming although the staff were pleasant, I didn't find them very helpful. At breakfast we were abruptly asked to pay before we even entered the dining room. This is my second time to stay in this hotel and both times I have been less than impressed. I would after my stay hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone as there are many hidden charges which the customer is not made aware of.
Bad bad bad. More like a 2 star
Very friendly staff, huge room with plenty of space for all four of us,(2 adults 2 teenagers). Buses really conveenient for town, beautiful and reasonably priced food in bar.
I am only rating the stay as satisfactory because the room itself and the location were good. I stayed here for 2 nights during horseshow week. The hotel itself was fine and the room rate was quite reasonable (though only becasue I had booked 7 months in advance). Like all hotels in Ballsbridge, the prices were more than double normal while the horse show was on. With the exception of one very nice waiter in the restaurant, the staff were absolutelt terrible. It took almost 20 minutes to check in becasue the receptionist point blank refused to read the printed booking and I was forced to spell out every single word twice. However, by far the worst service was in the bar. On average, it took 15 minutes to get a drink. On one occasion I was waiting for 25 minutes. Anyone who dared to complain about this was shouted at (literally). The table service was no better - Please note people "Yes" is not a suitable greeting for a paying customer. It disgusted me to think that these people were getting paid to be so rude and beligerant while nearly half a million people are unemployed. D4 hotels have a monopoly in that location, so they don't care about treating their customers well.
Excellent value for a superb location. Room was clean although the decor is very faded. Charging for WiFi is unusual nowadays, together with the complications of signing up to BitBuzz, etc. Free WiFi would be a good PR move.
Good-size basic clean room. Carpark handy though not cheap. Good bar facilities.
Excellent value hotel in great area. A little out of town from city centre. There were a few things wrong at the room like the remote control and that hsirdtyer but they were addressed quickly and courteously.
nice hotel, very clean
I stayed in the hotel for two nights during the horse show. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was a bit old but apart from that it was fine. The food was quite good, I had breakfast both mornigs and two evening meals from the bar food menu which was very good and reasonable. The staff in the dining room and reception were very polite and professional. My biggest dissapontment with the stay was the very rude and ignorant bar staff who were very disorganised and completely incapable of coping with crowds at the bar during a busy week. It was not uncommon to be left at the bar waiting to be served for up to 30 minutes. Any complaints about the long delay in srvice was met with agression by the bar staff and a threat of no service. Apart from the terrible bar staff the overall stay was very satisfactory.
lovely big bed a lot of TV but not to much to keep you from sleeping. food was good and staff frindly
We have stayed at D4 on several occasions and know what to expect. All is satisfactory but I would ask that there be more staff on reception around 9am for check-outs. We always have to wait in a long queue just to hand over our keys. There must be a better way of checking out when there is nothing to pay.
Good sized room with 2 double beds and nice breakfast the following morning! Room was a bit too warm for my liking! :)
Always a pleasure to stay at D4 Ballsbridge, have stayed several times and will do again :)
Good value hotel, great location. Room was clean, staff were friendly.
we were very happy with our one night stay. we were attending a show in RTE so it was very convenient. overall friendliness was excellent, rooms were excellent. one of our party commented that of all the places we stayed she thought our check in was a nice friendly experience. I also was very happy with the gentleman who checked us out. Great value for money, breakfast first class. will return for sure.
very good value for money, room was spacious and clean. would definately go back.
Its perfect if you just want somewhere to put your head down, it was clean and cheap
fire alarm went off on our floor (floor 7). we and others on our floor evacuated to find no one else had evacuated and that there was no information from hotel staff as to the situation for nearly half an hour. We were understandably wary to return to our room. In the end we were told a neighbouring room (which was housing a radio station!) had been using a toaster in their room. When we questioned the hotel's fire procedure we were told it was policy to send a member of staff up to check out any alarms. I would question the wisdom of this since an actual fire could spread very quickly to other floors unaware of any situation. Surely the fire brigade should investigate, after evacuation of the entire hotel? Staff on duty seemed inexperienced and afraid to cause disruption to the rest of the hotel. They rang a manager off site for advice! Having lost faith in the Ballsbridge Inn, a member of management then offered us a room in the Berkeley hotel, While this solved the immediate situation, I believe that Senior Management should look very closely at their Fire Procedures - the hotel is huge, and needs some sort of co-ordinated policy to ensure that there is no tragedy in the future.
D4 Ballsbridge was a great spot for the weekend. Hotel room was nice and spacious with a nice clean bathroom. There was some litter (a nappie!) left behind from the last people however. Only a ten minute walk from Grafton Street, it was very handy situation wise. Great value for money with great facilities including late night restaurant, bar, off licence and shop. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent large clean room. Fabulous breakfast.
excellent hotel, very clean, one small complaint breakfast(buffet style)could have been hotter) best value hotel in Ireland
I booked the hotel for a friday evening . Pleasant staff on check in - the window was chained closed so you could not open it to let air into the room -there was no thermostat for any air conditioning . Had some food in the bar but were waiting 45 minutes to get served -finally ordered a bottle of white wine which was warm but a very good bar man ( who was running the bar singlehandedly ) replaced it with a cold bottle . For the price that we paid the stay was fine - after all if there are good deals you cant expect 5 star service. When we checked out the following morning we went down to reception and when we came back upstairs the chambermaid had already started cleaning the room ( it was only 9h30 in the morning so check out was at least until 11am ) but she did not replace the sheets -only made the bed ! We stayed one night as we were attending a function so it was fine for a short period of time - I would double check the next time that the sheets have been changed
lovely spacious clean room, shower was fantastic and brill breakfast...everything is so handy
Went to Dublin for concert in the RDS. Arrived at hotel and checked in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a little cold but had everything you could need.
I had a great stay in your Hotel. The room was spotless and spacious, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was really good with loads of options. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel - in fact, I already have!
Convenient location as we were attending a concert at the RDS. Room a bit run down and the shower didn't work although this was fixed within a few hours of being reported as faulty.
Compliments to the Management and Staff. I would rate the Hotel as 3 Star with 5 Star Service provided.
Hotel is in a good location, fairly central with easy access to the city center by bus and taxi just outside the hotel. Checkin was very slow as was checkout, overnite parking was €10.50 which was a bit steep given these recessionary times.... room was a little tired/well used however it did provide us with what we needed for our short visit. Ideal hotel as a base !
Absolutely Fantastic Hotel!!" We were her for a dance competition" On arrival Receptionist was very Helpful they Let me Book in before 2, Reception was spotless!! Rooms were Plenty Big for two people, very clean tidy and up to date. Breakfast was Beautiful. I will Definitely be staying here in this hotel again. Staff could not have been any more helpful, Entertainment was very enjoyable. Overall I would rate this hotel a 10 out of 10! I would class this hotel as a 5 star hotel. Sinead Xxx
I've stayed at D4 Ballsbridge many times and can say it's always been enjoyable perfect location, taxi rank just outside hotel, the Dubliner Bar is great would definitely recommend and the staff are brilliant :)
I found a member of the bar staff to refuse to give me a cup of coffee saying it was too late, it was 11:50pm, even though the coffee machine was still on. He would however give me an alcoholic drink. I was waiting 45 minutes in the bar/restaurant to take my order. I went to the bar counter and gave my order to them, but they said they could not receive orders at the counter. A waitress eventually came and we were greeted by the word "YES".
good hotel room ok
Excellent. Very clean comfortable room, good location. Rooms getting a little dated but for value for money this is second to none in Dublin.
THE HOLIDAY TO DUBLIN WAS A PRESENT FOR MY MUM AND DAD 40TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY . THEY BOTH REALLY ENJOYED THEIR STAY AND THEY SAID THE HOTEL WAS PERFECT THEY COULD NOT FAULT THE HOTEL THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY , THE ROOM WAS OF GREAT QUALITY ,THE FOOD WAS GREAT AND THEY WOULD RECOMEND THE HOTEL TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY . AS THEY HAD BEEN IN OTHER HOTELS IN DUBLIN BEFORE THEY SAID THIS HOTEL WAS 10/10 THANKS FOR GIVING BOTH OF MY PARENTS A GREAT 40TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO REMEMBER .
Hotel clean, comfortable and welcoming. Good facilities especially the shop was very handy. Staff friendly and enough of them to make service fast. Nice food in hotel and in good selection of restaurants 2 mins walk away. Also great if going to RDS as 3 mins walk. I will stay there again.
Stayed at this hotel for the night of rugby semi final, very good athmosphere in the Dubliner Bar afterwards. Room was of a good standard, food in restaurant was of good quality, bar prices not too bad either. Great location.
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and greeted us with warm welcoming smiles. The room was really nice and comfortable. The food in the restaurant / bar in the evening was lovely although the restaurant staff didn't have very good English. The breakfast staff however were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. This hotel is fantastic value for money and we would recommend it to friends.
I think this was our third stay at D4 and we found things to our satisfaction. The rooms are spacious and clean but I would like to mention that the bath tap was dripping. As a Aussie now living in Ireland, I am VERY conscious of water leakage and I know this is now becoming a problem in Ireland. So, my comment would be to have taps in all bathrooms checked at least weekly. As well as helping save water, it would undoubtedly save money on water charges. We look forward to our next stay with you.
Good bed, nice size room. Great price, too. We were there for a convention at RDS, and it is easy walking distance. The hotel does not have an ice machine. Skimpy on the toiletries and extra pillows (only one extra for a double room). Ate one meal in the Dubliner pub and service was quite good. Food was pretty good, too, but chips/fries were cold. Food prices pretty reasonable for Dublin. A bonus is the new grocery store attached to hotel which has extended opening hours. Makes it easy to get a reasonably priced snack. Good spot on bus line so easy to get to from center of Dublin. Would recommend overall.
Very Pleasent. Warm and friendly and rooms were good.
Excellent value. Great room. Great coffee shop & mall on ground floor. Parking € 10.50 to be added to room cost. Telephone out of order. Everything else excellent
Although I had paid in advance by credit card the receptionist attempted to charge again . I wasn't sure till I produced my receipt and only then was she satisfied. Also I paid My parking when I checked in but there was no record on sytem. My wife had gone up town and I had to corfirm laser card payment by her . I thought this was a serious systemic lapse which could be very harmful to goodwill and efficient running of system.
I am giving this Hotel low rating, not because it is a bad place to stay, but because they charge €10.50 per night for a parking space. This has to be added to the room price and is not mentioned on the website.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was great. The room was basic a little old fashioned . THe bathroom ,the shower curtain had mildew on it which wasn't not very hygienic. Apart from that my stay was great.
Everything went very well and I always enjoy our stay at Ballsbridge Inn Hotel, D4., I still give them 9/10
Check in very easy and staff very helpful. Room nice and spacious.
bedroom warm and comfortable, no noise, good location. taxi rank nery nearby, on aircoach route, minor quibble with bathroom, shower not very powerful, also poor breakfast available
Thumbs up for the Ballsbridge Inn Hotel. Situated in a very convenient location close to the city centre, it is a cheeful hub of activity with restaurants, bar and grocery store. The rooms are well eqipped, clean and very spacious. Excellent value for a family, or single occupant. Tea and coffee making facilities, tv and hair dryer were supplied including plenty of fresh clean towels. The staff were prompt to assist when i reqeusted an iron. The hotel also caters very well for those with disabled requirements. Overall excellent value and a highly recommendable great value hotel.
We were astonished to be staying in a D4 Hotel at such a reasonable rate - especially on New Years Eve. The room was great and the hotel is in such a great location. The staff were all very friendly and the service was of a very high standard. We will definately be staying here again and would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Dublin City.
Really enjoyed our stay, you couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts. The only complaint would be that the room was cold but there were sub zero temperatures outside.
hotel was ok, price great but when you get there there are extra charges which i was not aware of at time of booking like euro 10.50 a night parking. also on return to the hotel we asked for the residents bar & were told there was none but i could people drinking in a little room beside the cafe. 20 min later i came down stairs to get some water and there was a gang of residents drinking in the recption area so i was disgusted to see this.
Rooms are paper thin. Disco kept us awake until very late. Toilets flushed awkwardly. Reception person did not know how to use the system at check-in / checkout. Overall experience was not great.
Very comfortable hotel to stay in, very centrally situated with bus stops very near. Rooms are clean with decent sized bath towels that smell fresh. Bed very comfortable and nice to see mugs with the tea-making facilities, which are discretely stored. This is our second stay in this hotel this year and we will be back.
Had to take a smoking room as hotel was full. Room was very small. Breakfast was not a buffet but was pretty good. Would recomend staying in D4 Ballsbridge Court over this hotel for approx same cost.
I booked the D$ because it looked like great value for money but after staying there it really wasn't that much better value than the last place we stayed which cost 114euro for a delux double with full Irish breakfast. The reason for this is that they charge 10.50 for parking over night, when we add this on to the cost of the room and breakfast there's only a twenty euro difference. Add that to the fact that I had a cold and the toilet paper in the room was like sandpaper and there were no tissues so I had to buy a box of tissues.... well, the inconvenience of that really put our last hotel The Old Schoolhouse ahead. The room looked clean and tidy as did the bathroom. However, it was very dusty and the halls were only moderatly clean. The Brass fixtures were smudged with polish; don't use the stair well as I suspect it's been 5 years since it was hoovered or dusted. The complimentary tea and coffee was there although we didn't make use of it. They had only provided one small bottle of shower gel and shampoo, so if we had both needed a shower we would have been hunting for more (or purchasing it in the D4store). The bed itself was neatly made and the sheets were spotless. Unfortunately, I found the bed extremely uncomfortable and hardly slept at all; my partner slept but woke up stiff and sore. On booking we opted to pay for the full Irish breakfast, I would advise against this. Check out the breakfast area first, and see what they look like. The fries looked shabby, greasy hashbrowns and what looked like dry sausages, so we had toast and tea instead. Which turned out to be a great idea as we headed out to Dun Laoghaire's farmers market for a proper breakfast then (a straight drive from the D4. All and all I'm reasonably satisfied with the hotel. It was dusty though, so anybody with even mild allergies would have been quite uncomfortable and would have to go shopping for Kleenex! If you're on a budget it is a good choice, although personally I'm willing to splash out a twenty or thirty euro more to be comfortable and feel like I'm on holiday. Business trips and budget travel though the D4 seems likely to fulfill your needs.
First class hotel with excellent reception and accommodation. Very good location and easy walk to centre of city with plenty of public transport/taxi options also. Staff very efficient and helpful. Only drawback was lack of sleep due to corridor noise from a student ball.
My room was comfortable and clean with no noise. Overnight parking was reasonably priced and secure. The bar area was clean and inviting with good service. All in all, a very satisfactory experience. I will stay at the hotel again.
Room was fab, very spacious! All staff very helpful and polite. All in all, good experience, great location, would def go back
Unbeatable rate of €49.20. Even if you included parking & breakfast it would still be under €70 although I do think an overnight parking rate of 10.50 is a bit steep. Room was perfect 2 big double beds and very clean. I would recommend highly if you are looking for a base to explore Dublin.
The Rooms in the Hotel were lovely, very spacious and clean. We stayed in the Tower part of the Hotel and it was lovely and quiet. The Bar food was very poor, had to send my Steak back, and also had a few other issues with our food, that we also had to send back. The service in the bar was also very poor and the Draught Beer was just aufol. Also when you check in,you are told that you have to pay for the Hotels Parking, which is E10.50 per night, which we hadnt know about before we booked. Otherwise the location of the Hotel was brilliant, and the rate we got the room for, through roomex.com was excellent.
The D4 Ballsbridge Inn is a fine hotel, staff are plesant, hotel is clean. The place is run a bit like Ryanair, that is "you get what you pay for". If you want any extras, there is a Mini Supermarket, Coffee & Sandwich dock and a Pizza joint. Great Value hotel with none of the Frills.
Room was fine - Check in was ok but the member of staff at the desk was not as welcoming as he could have been. Had food and some drinks in the bar which was lovely. Would stay there again.
Everything went smoothly & the price was right!
Really enjoyable stay, with 1st class service with a smile. Dinner and Breakfast really good and plenty of choice. Worth a stay and great value.
Great location, rooms clean. Restaurant deal v good(free starter). Parking a rip off, as there is no indication you will be charged until you arrive.
The room allocated to us was on the ground floor and there were people up all night in the lobby area and therefore could not sleep properly. The management of the hotel should have been mindful of the other guests and requested these people to vacate the lobby. Overall the hotel is quite nice and great value for money and there were no issues with bookings etc it all went very smoothly.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for the Eagles concert. We couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
This was my second visit to this Hotel, I was last there in 2004; sadly it now has new owners and the Hotel is not as good as it was five years ago, the pictures for the Hotel are dated as there is no dinning room instead Breakfast is served in the Dubliner's Pub; the rooms are comfortable but the furnishing is dated, overall disappointed in this Hotel and will not go back again.
We stayed at the hotel on the evening of the All-ireland Final and the Kerry team celebrations were being held there. The staff are the hotel were completly out of their debt and ill-prepared for the crowd that arrived. At one stage I counted 7 people behind the bar with only one till. So while someone took you order you had to wait an age to get your change. Surely the management should have arranged to have more tills installed
Very happy with the room/hotel! There was no hairdryer in the room, I rang down several times to the desk but no-one picked up (I understand it was a v v busy day, as hotel was booked out with Kerry fans who were up for the match!)I went down myself and spotted a staff member on the way who brought one up to my room just as I got into my room, now that's what I call a speedy service!!My only annoyance was on arriving car-pk was full up and I was asked to park in a different car pk outside the hotel, which was a small walk but with overnight bags and wet weather! (but all understandable due to Hotel booked out) it was an underground car pk with no lighting or security, and not safe for me or any other female. On leaving the carpark I took my car - as could anyone else as there was no ticket to validate, no-one was there checking it was indeed YOUR car! also I was told I would not have to pay, I thought that was because of the what I thought to be "an inconvenience". But when I checked out in the morning I was being charged E10.50,I told the receptionist that I was told no charge, she made a call to the manager who said I had to pay, I wasn't happy with her tone when I said I thought the reason for no charge was due to the inconvenience of it all, to which SHE INFORMED ME that it was NOT "an inconvenience". Apart from that experience overall the hotel was lovely, very affordable and very close to "everything" and buses/taxis outside the door!I would stay there again and would recommend it.
Easy to get to on the Aircoach bus. Very practical and straight forward.
Stayed in Ballsbridge Inn for one night. Was very impressed with the hotel. Thought the staff were exceptional, especially the bar staff, one in particular from Brazil, I think!? Had food in bar which was excellent, altogether had a lovely stay and would recommend the Ballsbridge to anyone!!
whilst the staff at the ballsbridge inn were great and the food in the dubliner bar was nothing short of fantastic ( we ordered half a chicken each) and recived the biggest chicken we have ever seen - it was simply wonderfull the room we were given was of a lesser standard to the food ! One of the three towls was definitly not clean The net curtains in the room were also unclean and only one shampoo and one (tiny) bar of soap in the bathroom !!!!!!!!! the above three wouldnt put me off going back tho - if only for the food
I have stayed in D4 many times but the last time I was disappointed, when I got into the room the window had been left open the room was freezing, The light on entering the room blew and I reported it straight away but it was still not replaced by the time I was leaving I'm staying again Bank Holiday weekend so hopefully that was a once off experience
Firstly it was slightly difficult to find. But after ringing hotel and being told it was actually the old Jurys hotel, found it easily enough. Plenty of car parking which is good. Reception area very impressive and clean. Area to sit and read off reception was very nice. Check in easy and efficient, all staff we met were extremely nice and helpful. The room itself was a bit of a disappointment, net curtains and windows were filthy. Otherwise room was ok - nothing exciting but fine apart from that. Looked at room in the Towers, they seem to be far nicer than the rooms at the Ballsbridge Inn, so if we were going again would pay the extra to stay there. The only downside to that is that you access both hotels through the one reception, so its quite a distance to the rooms in the Towers. Bar at the Inn was nice and sociable, an Irish bar!
Excellent hotel. Friendly staff, entertaining bar, very clean and comfortable rooms.
Our stay involved business and pleasure and I would rank it 6 out of 10. The reason why it has not received a 9 or 10 out of 10 related to the smoke smell in the 1st and 2nd rooms that we tried. That being said the staff were exceptionally helpful in persisting with our request to get a room that was satisfactory. I would be happy to give a thumbs up to anyone thinking of staying.
We booked two rooms in the Ballsbridge Inn for 2 nights and it was the most awful experience in a hotel that I have ever had, there was no water at all in the taps or shower, the phone in the room did not work and when I used the hairdryer smoke came out of it!!! After not being able to have a shower, we went downstairs for breakfast, I got really burnt scrambled eggs! The whole stay was awful and I suspect the place will be closed in the very near future!
Stayed at the hotel for one night. Had no fault with the hotel, only that perhaps there should have been more staff on the reception desk, especially at this particular weekend. Thank god for the Zumo smoothie bar that was there too, it was quite warm the day i arrived and there was nothing more refreshing than a nice cool smoothie. Although the hotel is a bit of a walk to the city centre, there was a taxi rank just outside the hotel which sorted that problem. The room was spacious and clean, perhaps a bit old fashioned but that didnt really bother me. It was quite busy the night i stayed and thought that there would be a lot of noise but to my delight there was not much at all. Overall, i'd recommend this hotel to friends & family but expect to pay for taxi's in & out to city centre!
I found the hotel just about adequate. The room was clean but a bit threadbear in parts and the hair-dryer was not working. It appears to me that they are operating the hotel on a minimal budget, riding out time until they achieve their goal of planning permission for apartments. Couldn't fault the staff in the Dubliner and location was great but i would avoid the rooms if you were staying more than the one night.
Had an enjoyable stay in the d4hotel and will be back again in the near future.
No TV remote control in room Room has smell of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room Front reception does not have good knowledge. For example, told us that Guiness Storehouse is just round the corner when that is clearly not the case.
I really missed not having tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Had to skip breakfast on day one as there was just one person on duty on a very busy day. Patrick Clifford. Date of stay - 22nd and 23rd April 2008.
I though the Hotel was nice and clean. However there was no information of what time to check out. I also didnt appreciate being woke up so early by accomodation staff. it was around 9am. I read there was also free parking but they tried to charge me 7.50 for parking.
Lovely room, perfect location. Staff all very helpful and nice, DEFINITELY will stay again!!! ANd great price too!!
Rooms clean and staff accomodating and friendly. Check-in and out was swift. my only qualm was the parking which I thought was a bit on the expensive side
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The reception hall was designed and set up beautifully! You couldn't fault the room in any way, being clean and tidy with the usual comforts, the way a 4 star hotel room should be. Staff very friendly, all in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay !
The hotel room was very comfortable, but for a 4 star would have been nice to have some water in the room. No tea/coffee making facilities either. The information we got at reception about breakfast was incorrect (pricing). The continental breakfast was poor - didn't include meats/cheese and they ran out of pastries so you had to wait! Not good if you're on a tight schedule. Overall though it is a good location, and the room was comfortable and very spacious.
Only issue I would have is car parking which I get free with other hotels
Stayed one night - impressed with neatness of room.Unfortunately advertised wirless internet not available in bedroom.Breakfast very good but service very poor.Dubliner pub expensive for ordinary glass of wine.Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
Stayed in the ballsbridge inn in Dublin 4 When I arrived the girl on the front desk was not sure if I was staying in the ballsbridge inn or the ballsbridge tower....I had to sho her my reservation before she could get me a room. I asked was there parking prior to my arrival and told no. On arrive I saw there was parking for over 200 cars !! The room was basic and I would not call it four star conditions. Bathroom needs to be update. Bed was comfortable. On checking out the next day was told that I owed money on the room. When I told them that I paid in full on the website she wouldn't belive me and said that this was impossible that you can only pay a booking deposit on the website. I had to go back to my room and get my reservation details and show her that the room was paid in full, only then was I allowed to leave. Please feel free to contact me if you have any quesitons, regards, shane c....
very good value. enjoyed the stay. good surroundings.pleasant staff.
Fantastic Hotel, enjoyed my stay immensley. The rate for the occasion, a Company Retirement dinner was excellent, considering there was two big shows on locally on the same date. I will be back to book accomodation again through RoomexHotels.com. Barry K....
