Had a lovely stay in the Carlton. Hotel is so central, staff are lovely. Food at breakfast was great & it was all u can eat which really set us up for the day. The Internet is horrendously slow, took about an hr to print our boarding cards, in an age when wifi is everywhere we couldn't understand why it was so slow. Also the pool was freezing, we had our little boy with us & booked the hotel so he could use the pool if the weather was bad so we went on sat evening but had to get out after 5 mins it was so so so cold.

I stayed there for two nights. Everything was as it should be and the staff were very professional and pleasant. The hotel is very central and is in an ideal location. The only complaint I have is that our towels were not changed and the breakfast dining area was very hot and stuffy.

Excellent Location right beside Waverley Bridge and just off the ...
The location of the Barcelo Carlton cannot be better. We were a group of 6 over for a rugby International, travelling from Canada.
Rooms: Super, They were spacious, well furnished and very comfortable, the only draw-back was that they were a bit HOT, but nothing opening a window wouldn't or didn't solve.
On the first night my wife's and my room were missed for making up, BUT we mentioned it and waiting for us at the end of the day was a complimentary bottle of chilling Champagne and a box of luxury chocolates.
Mike , the Concierge, was full of advice, even down to the location of a shoe repair facility.
Facilities: we didn't check out the Spa but the totally relaxed appearance of those coming out suggested it was a great experience. The Bar was great, and the breakfast for 6 hungry Rugby Players was perfect. Huge hot and cold Buffet which set us up for the day.
When I next go to Edinburgh, I can't believe I would look elsewhere.
