Hotel is situated on the River Stour, 5 miles south of Stratford on the A34.
The rooms are all luxurious. They are all individually furnished and offer superb views of the surrounding countryside and Victorian gardens. The en suite marble bathrooms are also very elegant. All of the bedrooms have antiques and original paintings. The rooms are of a medium - large size and are of an exceptional standard.
The dining room is very spectacular creating a fitting atmosphere for the best English and French cuisine. In the dining room are 19th century hand carved family crests and an 18th century rococo ceiling.
The exterior of the hotel is very grand, it is the only property in England which is still in the same family ownership since the time of the doomsday book and dates back to 1086.
The reception area is very elegant. On entering it is like stepping into the Manor House when it was once a home. The walls are panelled in very dark wood with the ornate ceilings painted in white with blue and peach borders.
There is a large conservaotry, a drawing room, library bar and long gallery. There are also leisure facilities. (12/04IT)
