Mountains and forest provide the setting for this long-established hotel at the edge of the famed monastic site, and many of the comfortably appointed bedrooms have superb forest views. Food is served daily in the very popular bar and on the terrace when weather permits; the renovated Glendasan River Restaurant is a stylish bistro where dinner is served. The atmospheric Glendalough Tavern is a popular meeting place for visitors and locals alike.

With reference to my stay in The Glendalough Hotel.
I found the food to be very good, totally satisfied with this area.
I found the rooms to be old fashioned and in need of modernisation.
The furniture was dated, the tv was at least 10 years old and lacking in stations.
The wifi service was bad and my relations actually had no signal at any time, I had sometimes.
The room cleaning service was average.
It seems to me that the hotel knows they're situated in a very tourist orientated area and dont feel that they have to compete for business so do not provide a modern service.
