This hotel is centrally located next to the 'Bundeshaus', the seat of government, and within walking distance of the medieval city centre with its quaint shopping arcades and legendary fountains.
Superior Junior Suites, which span 42-58 square meters, have separate living rooms with desk and seating unit, bedrooms with box-spring beds and inviting bathrooms; they overlook either the tranquil courtyard or the old town. Superior Junior Suites are classically laid out with items of antique furniture; Nespresso machines are provided while the air conditioning system ensures a pleasant temperature.
The restaurant is elegant with a large terrace for dining out in warmer weather with splendid views of the city.
This is a very grand building which is very traditional in style and therefore blends in very well with its surroundings.
The large lobby with marble floors is beautifully decorated with an impressive stained glass ceiling. A lot of attention has been paid to detail in its decor and the beautiful traditional furniture and ornaments create a very regal scene.
In this writer's opinion, this is Switzerland's best presented hotel. The craftsmanship involved in every aspect of its restoration is a credit to all involved. Highly recommended! RY 0208
