News Update - City Taxes Information

Important Notice:
Please note:
City Tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay. The city tax amount depends on the hotel category, city and the location and it may change without notice. It is not included in the rate of the room and will be an additional governmental charge.
Other cities that include a similar local "City Tax" that is sometimes applied at the hotel, but not always, include
Bergamo, Italy - City Tax: City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly.
€2.00 - €3.00 Euro per person per night based on the hotel cost and is payable directly to the hotel by the client.
The tax is payable up to a maximum of 10 nights and children under the age of 16 are exempt.
Barcelona, Spain - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
5 Star hotels €2.50 Euros per person per night
4 star hotels €1.25 Euros per person per night
City tax chargeable up to a maximum of 7 nights, children under 16 years old are exempt
All other star ratings €0.75 Euros per person per night
Children under the age of 14 are exempt and is payable up to a maximum of 5 nights.
Bologna, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
The charges are based on the nightly cost of the hotel room, from
€01.00 to €30.99 Euros per night - €1.00 Euro
€31.00 to €70.99 Euros per night - €1.50 Euro
€71.00 to €120.99 Euros per night - €2.50 Euros
+ €121.00 Euros per night - €4.00 Euros
Catania, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
€1.50 per person per night. There is no charge for children under 18 years of age.
The emirate of Dubai is introducing a compulsory “Tourist Dirham” tax levied on all booked hotel accommodation in Dubai.
The new tax will be applicable from 31st March 2014. All bookings made prior to this date with arrivals from 31st March will not be exempt.
The fees are as follows:
• AED 20.00 PER ROOM PER NIGHT for stays in 5 star hotels
• AED 15.00 PER ROOM PER NIGHT for stays in 4 star hotels
• AED 10.00 PER ROOM PER NIGHT for stays in 3 and 2 star hotels
• AED 7.00 PER ROOM PER NIGHT for stays in 1 star hotel
This tax is to be paid by the GUESTS directly at the hotel before the end of the stay.
Florence, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
Charges are per person per night.
1 Star - €1.50 Euro per person per night.
2 Star - €2.50 Euro per person per night.
3 Star - €3.50 Euro per person per night.
4 Star - €4.50 Euro per person per night.
5 Star - €5.00 Euro per person per night.
Fee is payable up to a maximum of 7 nights.
Fiumicino, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
1 * to 5* included = €2 per person per night in all hotel categories.
Milan, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
Charges are as €1.00 Euro per star of the hotel per person per night.
1 Star - €1.00 Euro per person per night.
2 Star - €2.00 Euro per person per night.
3 Star - €3.00 Euro per person per night.
4 Star - €4.00 Euro per person per night.
5 Star - €5.00 Euro per person per night.
A reduction of 50% will apply for low season stays between 16th December and 10th January. Travellers under the age of 18 are exempt and the fee is payable up to a maximum of 14 nights.
Padova, Italy - City Tax
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
€3 per person per night for stays in 4 + 5 star hotels
€2 per person per night for stays in 3 star hotels
€1.50 per person per night for stay in 2 stars hotels
Tax will be charged for a maximum of 5 overnight stays and will not apply to any citizen of Padova or children under the age of 16.
Pisa, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly before the end of the stay.
4* + 5* = €2 per person per night
3* + 2* = €1.50 per person per night
1* + hostels = €1 per person per night.
Please note that from 1st March 2015, the French Government have imposed a compulsory city tax which is required to be paid by the GUESTS directly at the hotel.
The taxes are levied as follows:
Rome, , Italy - City Tax:
€3 per person per night for stays in 4/5 star hotels (charged up to 10 nights)
€2 per person per night for stays in 3/2/1 star hotels (charged up to 10 nights)
Children under two years of age are exempt from paying tax.
Exception of hostels.

Please note that from 1st September 2014 the fees for Rome city tax will increase as follows:
• €7.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT for stays in 5 star hotels (charged up to 10 nights)
• €6.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT for stays in 4 star hotels (charged up to 10 nights)
• €4.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT for stays in 3 star hotels (charged up to 10 nights)
• €3.00 PER PERSON PER NIGHT for stays in 2 and 1 star hotels (charged up to 10 nights)
All bookings made prior to this date with arrivals from 1st September 2014 will not be exempt from these changes.

Siena, Italy - City Tax:

Lido and Islands - 5 Stars €4.50, 4 Stars €3.20, 2 Stars €2.40, 1 Star €0.80
Mainland - 5 Stars €3.50, 4 Stars €2.80, 3 Stars €2.10, 2 Stars €1.40, 1 Star €0.70
Low Season (1st December - 31st January)
Venice - 5 Stars €3.50, 4 Stars €2.80, 3 Stars €2.10, 2 Stars €1.40, 1 Star €0.70
Lido and Islands - 5 Stars €3.15, 4 Stars €2.24, 3 Stars €1.68, 2 Stars €1.12, 1 Star €0.56

The tax applies up to a maximum of 5 nights and children between 11 and 16 years of age receive a 50% discount.
Verona, Italy - City Tax:
City tax is to be paid by the Passenger directly to the hotel directly.
1 star hotels €0.50 per person per night
2 star hotels €1.00 per person per night
3 star hotels €1.50 per person per night
4 star hotels €2.00 per person per night
5 star hotels €3.00 per person per night
The tax is payable up to a maximum of 5 nights and children under the age of 14 are exempt.
