Due to flights from London being cancelled due to bad weather on the night I was to stay (30 December 2016) I was not able to take up the booking. Despite my cancelling early in the evening when I became aware of the position the North Star Hotel refused to refund my pre-paid booking. Hence the "Awful" rating. For people who travel extensively like myself these are the sort of things we remember if looking for rooms in that area in the future.

I have stayed in the North Star before and loved it however room 110 is not as updated as other rooms. The complimentary elements which are normally in place were missing such as slippers, bathrobe etc. However the bed was comfy and the breakfast was lovely.

This hotel offers excellent value for money, in a city centre location and is modern and clean. The staff were very helpful, polite and efficient. A buffet Breakfast was included in the rate and this was very good - the coffee was excellent, suggest: include brown bread and fresh fruit. I recommend this hotel to those staying for business or leisure.
