In a wonderful location, the hotel is close to the centre of Budapest, opposite Keleti railway station. It has great access to tram, bus, and metro links to the rest of the city - only a 5 minute bus ride to the Danube River and very popular Vaci Street.
The rooms vary in size but all are modern and clean. All rooms come with satellite TV and telephone. Each room has a fridge, hair-dryer and safe deposit box. For your safety, each room is equipped with electronic key-cards and smoke detector. Smoking and non-smoking rooms are available.
There are two restaurants attached to the hotel sitting on either side of the lobby. These popular restaurants are good and have plenty of seating and offer Mediterranean and Italian food. A good selection of wine is also available.
This is a traditional looking building, seven storeys tall and painted white and yellow.
The lobby is large, colorful and well-lit with extensive seating. The reception desk is to the left as you enter and straight ahead is a bar/cafe seating area. There is also an area for internet use on the right of the lobby.
This well located hotel is an excellent place to stay for those looking to be in the thick of the action. The hotel has a bar on the ground floor and a small fitness room with exercise equipment which is for extra fee for guests to use. Close to the city's best attractions and within walking distance of Heroes' Square.

On a return visit to the Golden Park Hotel, my room had a small balcony, however the door was broken and wouldnt open. I reported it to the reception staff who said that they would contact the hotels maintanance but after waiting 2 days i enquiried again to be told that it was not repairable. Hungary introduced a smoking ban in April this year and the Hotel staff informed me that the only place i could smoke was out on the street which as a smoker i found very uncomfortable. The Hotel itself was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful. Im not sure if the hotel provides smoking rooms for guests as i couldnt get the staff to confirm this, they said i could smoke on the balcony but as the door was broken this was not an option. A bit disappointing for those who smoke to find they cannot relax and enjoy a cigarette in their hotel room.
i have stayed at the Golden Park a few times and find that it is a hotel in a good location beside the main International station ie Keleti with trains travelling to and from vienna (travel time 3 hours approx) and to many other european locations. Nearby (about 5 mins walk) is a large shopping mall with 3 floors of shopping, restaurants, cafes & a large tesco).
The hotel has average to small size rooms that are comfortable and clean, the decor is good and the staff were helpful and friendly. There is an italian restaurant attached to the hotel which is very good and i have eaten in it several times and always found the food good. While i chose a room only on my recent visit, i have booked room and breakfast in the past and found the breakfast to be very good.
Outside the hotel you can take the metro which will bring you to all the sights around the city and Budapest is a beautiful city with lots to see and do. If yoy intend taking the metro in Budapest it is worth researching as the names of the stations (like the street names) are impossible to pronounce correctly or to remember - the best tip i can give is to write down the terminus stops on the line you are using so you will know which side to get on and off ie heading back to the hotel from the city you take the Ors Vezer ter metro and get off at Keleti Palyaudvar.

For the value of the internet booking I would recommend this hotel to any sole traveller, looking for a fairly central hotel in the Pest part of Budapest. The room was clean & adequate, the staff friendly. However the breakfast wasn't wonderful but it was part of the price & would tide you over for awhile.
I found Budapest a very easy city to walk around & this hotel has a good location, though it is near a train station it is not the one that has the airport link, that being about a 25minute walk away.
