WE HAD A VERY NICE TRIP TO YORK AND AN EXCELLENT STAY AT THE PARK INN. BEDROOM ALTHOUGH A BIT SMALL WAS VERY NICELY DECORATED AND CLEAN. LOVED THE SHOWER. THE STAFF WERE ALL VERY HELPFUL AND BREAKFAST (BUFFET) WAS VERY GOOD. LOTS OF CHOICE AND FOOD VERY WELL PRESENTED AND HOT. THE HOTEL IS IN A VERY GOOD LOCATION IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING TO YORK BY TRAIN AS WE WERE ONLY A FIVE MINUTES WALK FROM THE STATION, AND FIVE MINUTES TO THE CENTRE OF YORK. THE REGATTA BAR IS IN A GREAT LOCATION WITH WONDERFUL VIEWS OF THE RIVER BUT COULD DO WITH A MAKE OVER - A BIT TATTY. THE ONLY OTHER DOWNSIDE IS THEY ONLY APPEAR TO HAVE ONE WORKING LIFT AND THAT IS A BIT OF A PROBLEM ESPECIALLY AT BREAKFAST/CHECK OUT TIMES. WHEN WE ASKED IF WE COULD HAVE A ROOM TO THE RIVER SIDE OF THE HOTEL THE RECEPTION TOLD US THAT THEY ONLY HAVE DOUBLE ROOMS ON THAT SIDE NOT TWINS - THIS I THOUGHT WAS VERY STRANGE. ARE WE SISTERS NOT ENTITLED TO THE SAME VIEWS AS OTHERS ? APART FROM THAT WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AND WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM IN STAYING AT THE PARK AGAIN.

This is a great hotel for doing all the tourist ...
This is a great hotel for doing all the tourist visits. The open top bus is 5min walk and the railway station is about 10mins walk. My mum and i had reserved a twin room and were told when we asked for a river view they dont have any twins that side,so if you require a view make sure you book a double. We were on the 1st floor facing the pub, can be noisy through the night but probably not as bad as if in the centre of town. Could do with larger duvets as kept waking as cold due to fact it was not long enough. The room was clean and had everything you would need, bathrooms could do with new refit, but clean. Breakfast was very good and plenty of everything.Overall i would give this hotel 3 stars and i would stay again.
