The hotel itself has a lovely athmosphere. I attended a Wedding there and the wedding meal was delicious as was the breakfast. A few negatives though - our room was one of the appartments out the back of the hotel. We had Apartment 611 which was absolutely tiny and the cats in that area must be very happy as there wasn't any room to swing one!! I don't think the bed was a double either, more like a queen so slightly smaller than a double. There is a balcony with a beautiful view but it had no table and chairs and nor did any of the balconies for that matter. It was like corregated steel so I suppose chair legs and table legs wouldn't be able to balance on it. There was no hot water either for a shower the next morning or indeed a bath as water also cold in the taps. The appartment downstairs also had no hot water. We reported it to reception on our way to breakfast but an hour plus later, still no hot water and I had to go back to reception. We were offered another room in the hotel to have our shower in.
I had pre-paid the room but on check-out, my boyfriend was asked again for payment and he paid it not realising I had pre-paid. I went back to reception and the girl wasn't a bit friendly! There were 2 women on reception and one didn't seem to know what she was doing so the other woman intervened and she was way more pleasant than the woman we had been dealing with. We didn't get apologies from the first one.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was there for a wedding with my boyfriend. I thought the room was a little strange in it's layout. I think that it may have been made smaller to accommodate an en suite for the room next door and I could hear the guests next door using their ensuite. The en suite it self was clean but a little dated with exposed pipes under the hand basin.
Staff were friendly enough but thought one lady (appeared to be a manager) could have been a little friendlier. She looked rather depressed and although it didn't interfere or ruin my stay it has remained a lasting memory for me of the hotel.
