Roomex are delighted to be attending this years Business Travel Conference, a key event organised annually by Business Travel Magazine.

The conference, taking place on the 11th and 12th September 2018, at London’s Hilton Bankside The Ballroom, promises to be an exciting event for anyone involved in the business travel industry.

Keynote speaker, Sir Ranulph Fiennes (‘the world’s greatest living explorer’) will close the conference with his keynote speech on the second day. Sir Ranulph will undoubtedly draw on his career spent adventuring and exploring the most inhospitable corners of earth. His motivational speeches are often littered with thrilling anecdotes from times spent pushing the limits of human endurance. Fearless feats (Unsupported North Pole Russian Expedition (1990); the discovery of the lost city of Ubar on the Yemeni border (1991) will seem poles apart from the modern business traveller experience - where everything is easy, risks are minimised, and seamlessness is expected. We’re excited to learn from such an influential and formidable explorer who, long before Google’s Streetview, has been putting far-flung places on the map!

Additionally, around 60 leading business travel suppliers will exhibit and network with industry peers, related professionals, and potential customers. Delegate places are strictly limited and reserved for corporate buyers and arrangers of travel and meetings to ensure the event retains a more intimate atmosphere in which to learn, network and do business in.

Travel and technology is up for discussion at several of the panels at the event. New distribution channels (NDC), Artificial Intelligence, and chatbots are currently experiencing a steep learning curve as they trickle into the mainstream. The scope and pace of development of this technology is still largely unknown. However, it is ripe for discussion, and the organisers of The Business Travel Conference have decided to give it a platform at their conference.

We will be sending along two of our colleagues, Mick Steele, Sales Director, and Mary O’Melia, B2B Sales Manager, to man the Roomex stand on both days. They are looking forward to answering any questions about the benefits of a single-supplier hotel booking platform, and how data-driven travel insights can provide better travel planning and bigger cost-efficiencies.

What have previous delegates said about the event?

  • 92% of TBTC'16 delegates said they took away ideas or knowledge that they can put into practice in their role as a business travel arranger
